I love everything about this restaurant except the food. I love the concept and the environment is nice.This place is a bit expensive. I wanted to like it being that my wife and I spent a lot of money on it. The food was just mediocre though, and my burger was very dry. To make sure It wasn't just my burger that was dry, I also tried my wifes burger. Same result. Everything people have said is true, it an ok place. My boyfriend said his burger tasted good, mine was dry, crispy/ burned on top and bottom... Fuddruckers would have been better. Root beer was good. And yes parking is non existent. read more

My first trip to the Twisted Root and I really enjoyed the burger. I got the "burger of the month" Twisted A1 burger. I was impressed that with all the different toppings it still had a the "burger" taste. The staff was very friendly but they were not well equipped to handle the number of customers in the store which made the service slow. Stopped to eat while getting my oil changed. Pleasantly surprised with the food here. They have everything from wild game to beef and turkey. They even had gluten free buns! Fries were crisp, not soggy. White a variety of home made condiments. Worth the extra $, fun way for orders but using actors and musicians. Will come again to kick back and relax! read more

We came in on the recommendation of a friend and left sadly disappointed. The ambience is great. If you've been to any funky Texas BBQ place you know what to expect: crap on the walls, quirky burger names, etc. The ordering system is flawed in my opinion. It's 100% cafeteria style and they announce your "quirky character" name over a loudspeaker instead of the tried and true "bring my food to my table" method. I figured for as much as these burgers cost they could afford to have a person bring me my food. If whataburger can do it so can you! Now to the food. I got the Cobb salad ( I know who goes to a burger joint to get a salad? None of the burgers sounded good to me) and my darling got the Verde and her sweet tooth talked her into the s'mores shake. I also got a side order of fries because it's trendy to not include fries with your $10 burger. Neither delivered on what they promised. The Cobb salad, normally diced chicken or turkey, cheddar,bacon, and blue cheese on greens was a giant hot over cooked turkey burger on top of some bag salad with a HAMMERED fried egg on top. Nothing about this salad said Cobb. It was small, had strips of bacon (exactly two spindly pieces) and a dusting of blue cheese. Just hot bad on top of cold bad with croutons. The Verde burger promised spice with Hatch green chile , avocado and pepper jack cheese. It was also HAMMERED (not the medium well that was advertised) and a big piece of chewy meat. There was no spice at all. No hint of hatch at all and you couldn't even find the pepper jack. Also we had the pickles there and they all tasted the same ... in a stale "why did I even put this in my mouth" sort of way. Also a place that charges $10 for a burger then makes you pay 75 cents for ranch should be ashamed of itself. On the bright side the shake was amazing and the fries are good. This place also has a bar that was completely empty at 530 pm which lead me to think this place is more of a bar that has Ok food than a good burger joint with a bar. If you go in expecting barely OK food and want some overpriced drinks this is the place for you. I recall leaving the place and looking across the street at a Petro's with a line wrapped around it full of customers and back to the maybe 8 other folks In The twisted root and wished we'd just gone to Petros instead. read more

Never heard of a milkshake with wheat... protein yes, so stop trying to capitalize on ridiculous claims like this... oh pickles too are gluten free but the sugar will kill ya! Went to this place a while back but just got around to reviewing it. I got the lots a shroom with bacon and some sweet potato chips. The burger was elk. The burger was good. Not too gamey, interesting menu and the cheese and meat were both pretty fantastic. The sweet potato chips were another story. They were gross. Idk why I didn't like them but I didn't. I'm a huge fan of sweet potato fries but not there. The price was reasonable and the different flavors of pickles were pretty awesome too. I'd def go here again if I were in the area. read more

I always love coming here, if for any other reason is that they have a burger with goat cheese on it. A pricey place, but great atmosphere and terrific burgers (make sure they cook it to your liking--the default is "cooked until no more juice exists"). So good as always! Usually we go to the one in Deep Ellum, but have recently moved to N. Richland Hills and stumbled upon this location. Love the names that are called when you get your order. I always enjoy the black bean burger and love to add as many pickles as I can! Onion rings were a little too greasy for my liking, so I will stick to the sweet potato chips next time. Great veggie burger! It is vegan too. It is made with chickpeas, black beans, brown rice, and quinoa. It comes topped with avocado and siracha just sauce. The siracha is a little too spicy for me but the avocado helps to cool it down. I also got the gluten-free bun which is the best gluten-free bun I've had! It doesn't have a really great taste itself but it doesn't take away from the taste of the burger. Very soft bun compared to most GF bread. read more

I had a really great dining experience here with friends. This is a really cool backyard fee sort of place with kitschy yet unique options like a pick your flavor pickle stand. There is also outdoor patio style seating that isn't terribly common in the mid cities. The food is tasted, however if you are liking for a healthy option this may not be the place. The "salad" options are all covered in bacon, fired parmesan, etc. the burgers and soda are the show stoppers. I've never had such a flavorful burger at a chain in my life. You can choose one of the menu items or craft a burger to your taste at the moment. I'm partial to jalapeño, bacon, and spicy mustard on my burgers. This place can accommodate all of those and more. With options like fried pickles and fried eggs you can make it your own. There are bar taps and Tv's inside but bench style booths for the family too. Overall I think this place is really good. Went here for dinner with some club members. The burgers and fries were very tasty! The burgers were very juicy and flavorful, and the fries were crisp and not too salty. I REALLY enjoyed their mango lemonade. I think I downed like 4 cups. Service was quick and friendly. Be sure to get here early though, as the dinner rush makes the wait time very long. I found a lot of their signs humorous, a personal favorite being, "Lost Children will be given 10 shots of espresso and a puppy." (Just my own personal amusement. :)) Only complaint is that the milkshake was a bit too sweet for me. I got the Peanut Butter and Brownie, but is just a tad bit to sweet. Just moved to the area and was told to check out Twisted Root. Place was really nice and clean. While the hamburger was flavorful, it wasn't worth the 20 minute wait. The gluten free bun was soft and didn't taste like a sponge so that was a plus. My boyfriend ordered the buffalo burger and it was really tiny. We questioned the $10 price tag on it. He also ordered fried pickles. Fat Elvis shake was good but I had huge chunks of bananas in mine so it was pretty hard to drink. All the pickle flavors were a plus! All in all, I'm glad we tried it but for the $30 price tag I'll stick to my true love Hopdoddy. read more
