If you want food and a bar just go to Brunzies instead, they remodeled and actually try for the food.

I've never had food here that wasn't over soft/soggy; the drinks are usually okay but the service is terrible. Prepare to be ignored....

Best drinks in town + worst food in town = a good place to go hungover with a group of 6 people who woke up on your floor.

Not a bad bar/sandwich place. Good craft beers. Service was excellent. Food was decent. Gets packed when college is in and it's after 10p.

Up at IUP visiting before winter break. We decided to visit the Primanti's up here. Our college…read morestudent kids eat here regularly but this is our first visit to this particular Primanti. First thing that struck me was how much brighter and cleaner and better decorated it is than the one by our house and for that matter most of the other locations I've visited. Granted this one is maybe a year or so old. On this visit I decided to get the Oven Baked Italian Crostini. I've had it numerous times before and I find it to be decent sandwich. I however swap out the dressing they always put on it and will use balsamic glaze if I'm at home or if eating in, I'll ask for a side of balsamic salad dressing. The sandwich is a pretty cheap option and comes with a mound of fries. We visited in a Saturday and so I chose the daily special tall pour of IC Light. I thought everything was decent. Seemed a bit better than the one by our house. My wife ordered her go to which is the cheesesteak bomb. It's a huge sandwich that also comes with a mound of fries. Recently we've been disappointed when we've ordered them as the meat has had some gristly pieces in it which kind of makes us stop eating. But she gave it another try and thankfully had none of the gristle in this one. The restaurant was not very busy do a Saturday afternoon, perhaps because of inclement weather expected and it was the last day for students at IUP before winter break. Despite the place being fairly empty, the service was lacking a little. In summary; newer and cleaner location, food a little better, service fair.

My family enjoyed our meals and the portion sizes were fulfilling. The citrus vinegrette gave the salad a bright taste to start the meal. My son had the chicken parmesan and he gave it a 10/10. So many people expressed the fancy, specialty aspect of dining at Benjamin's that I decided to make a lunch reservation for my parents 63rd Anniversary. I asked the host about the menu when making the reservation and made two distinct mentions about the occasion. My parents were very eager and the expectation was perhaps a bit elevated. We arrived about 10 minutes early. There was only one other party in the entire place. We were seated in what can only be described as an old sun porch. Ice cold temperatures and a view of a wooden fence where the parking lot of the neighbors parking lot could be seen between the slats. Service was uber relaxed and the server seemed more interested in staying up to date with the laptop at the podium than our dining experience. My mother asked about options for her salad and the server suggested something completely different- with seafood. Not at all my Mom's taste. I ordered the huge fish sandwich. These seemed to be the best options for us since - to our dismay- the menu lacked their full selection as promised at the time of reservation. My parents were looking forward to prime rib. In a nutshell, Mom's salad lacked flavor and was drowning in citrus vinaigrette. The fish sandwiches my Dad and I ordered were DRY!! No tartar sauce, no aioli- bare, toasted bread. It was like eating a sponge. Was hoping to ask for something to soften up the crouton-like crust scratching the tops of our mouths, but as stated before, no server in sight. We waited 15 minutes after getting Luke-warm coffee (end of shift?) for the bill. It took another 10 minutes for her to process the payment. No refills?? I was embarrassed from the minute we walked in to the vacant dining area on a Saturday that I had made the reservation in the first place. There was ZERO acknowledgement of the occasion and the host completely blanked on our name. The only saving grace to the afternoon was going down to The Meadows for ice cream. A memorable visit, but not for the right reasons.

We mistakenly booked a bowling…read morereservation in advance for our daughter's birthday without calling and notifying the management of our celebratory intentions. Our daughter was so excited to bowl and enjoy her time with family and friends, but since the reservation was not booked as an 'official' birthday party, management refused to permit us to bring her cake inside the building, under any circumstances. Upon arrival, my husband inquired regarding the possibility of bringing her cake inside sometime during our bowling session, and was informed by an employee that because we had not booked our reservation as a birthday party, that we would not be permitted to do so. As a result, I chose to follow up and asked to speak to a manager, but instead, spoke with the owner, who was reluctant to engage with me. I indicated to her that we had not realized that enjoying a cake during our session would be an issue, and begged her to make a small exception. I also mentioned that if we had known that they would not allow us to bring our cake, we would have been happy to have purchased one there, but oddly enough, she admitted that her business did not sell cakes of any kind. Needless to say, she was not receptive to my request, but said that she would make a phone call and follow up with me shortly. Approximately ten minutes late, the owner approached me in our designated area, and informed me that I was "told NO when I had called earlier in the day" by the manager, which was an outright lie and completely false accusation. When I contested her accusation, she seemed taken aback, but replied that whoever had called "should have informed me" that we would not be permitted to bring in our cake. In fact, what actually had occurred involved my daughter calling and inquiring whether food was sold at the premises, as we had never been to Mohawk Lanes, previously. She was merely told that they did sell food, and that no outside food or beverages were permitted, which was absolutely understood on our part. At no point in the telephone conversation did my daughter ask about bringing in her own cake, and she made the assumption that a cake would be an exception, as it had been countless times when we had chosen to celebrate her birthday at other locations or places of business in our area. It should be noted that we had never intended to bring in our own food, and purchased multiple pizzas and pitchers of beverages during our two hour visit for our 10 guests, which we had planned on, regardless of this establishment's cake policy. We spent hundreds of dollar that day, and much more than we would have spend had we purchased their birthday party package, yet were treated very poorly, regardless. My daughter and her friends took advantage of the bowling session that we had paid for, and also played games for a bit in the arcade section. That said, our time at Mohawk Lanes felt extremely awkward, uncomfortable, and nothing like a birthday celebration should ever be, due to the uncompromising and hostile behavior of the management team that day. In any event, after the two hour reservation time frame, we moved out to the parking lot to light and serve my daughter's birthday cake to our family and friends, which was sadly served out of the back of our vehicle, due to management's absurd inflexibility at Mohawk Lanes. It worked out due to the good weather we were lucky enough to have at the time, but had it been raining, snowing, or fairly cold, the outcome would have been quite different. Never again will we set foot in this establishment, and we made certain that each and every person in our party and the other customers we spoke with that day knew exactly how obstinate, unreasonable, and vindictive the management's behavior toward us was during our time there. BEWARE!!
