I've been looking for a great hair salon to go to since moving to Peabody, I've finally found one at Twisted Elegance! Alisha, the owner, did my hair. I previously had balayage and needed some touching up. I decided to try this salon after reading a very negative review on Yelp. I loved the way Alisha handled herself and showed actual proof of the great job she did while staying professional. Upon entering the salon I instantly took to the decor. I loved it! Reminds me of my apartment, elegant glam. The salon is spotless and It smelled amazing!! There were 2 stylists, Alisha and another woman. Both were very friendly. Once in the chair Alisha was great! Having Never worked with me before she was spot on with what I was looking for. My hair color and cut came out amazing! I've received countless compliments when I went to work after my appointment. Worst color I've ever received and yet I paid TRIPLE what I normally do for hair. The prices are even higher than high-end salons in Boston. I walked away paying around $300 for horrible hair! So I just got my hair done here, Spent $190, walked out to my car and looked in the mirror, to see hair dye all over my forehead. I couldn't believe she didn't even clean it off! Also, Alisha cut my hair way too short .. I literally have never had my hair cut this short in my life, I could cry. She seemed like she didn't want to be bothered when I was contemplating what to do with my hair, she rushed me and didn't take the time to listen to what I wanted or give opinions. If she showed me prior that she was taking that much hair off I would've said no way!!!!!!! but she just went for it. The color looks similar to what I already had. Overpriced and I will not be back... Now time to get all this hair dye off my head after forking out all that money. Unreal!!! **Here is the salon owners response to me, because I told her I am not happy with my hair** : "Hi, I apologize if you seem to be unhappy with your color. I would offer to fix it to your liking, but due to the volatility of your review I think it's best if you try somewhere else going forward. However I am unable to issue a refund to you at this time." My experience with Alisha this past weekend was very uncomfortable and I honestly could not wait to leave and on top of everything I am going to write below, my hair is the exact opposite of what I wanted. I asked for a balayage and walked out with highlights. $240 for something I didn't even ask for!! I want my money back. If I got a balayage that would be one thing, but to pay for balayage and receive highlights makes me want a refund. I also told Alisha I did not want to be blonde, I am very blonde now. She told me "oh you can't go blonde anyways in one day, your hair is too dark". Okay, well you're wrong Alisha. If I knew how to dye my hair on my own, I would've walked out with the foils on my head. Alisha is probably the snobbiest and most unwelcoming person I ever met. I could feel she did not want me there and that all she wanted to do was go home. She first asked me what I did for work since it was our first-time meeting and I told her that I do marketing. She asked what kind marketing I did and said that her mother-in-law said she should advertise in the Peabody paper and her response was "why so I can get more 80-year olds like you?" She tried to save herself from this comment saying, "I do some older women, but ones who are still in style, like who wear hair extensions." So, am I not in style either because I don't wear extensions? Talk about rude, you should want to take any client that walks in your door. That's when my uncomfortableness really started. Then after the bleach was done, her assistant washed my hair out. Her assistant is very nice. Alisha came back after disappearing the entire time my hair was sitting with bleach to add the color in my hair. That was fine. Then when it came time to wash that out, Alisha did it. The conditioner bottle fell on the floor and Alisha's response was to say, "ugh you whore". Nice way to talk in front of a client you're just meeting. Finally, it was time to cut my hair, almost time to run out of that place. She had asked her assistant to stay late to help dry my hair, talk about making me feel rushed and like I was unwanted there. The assistant asked how much longer it would be and Alisha said she just had to layer my hair. I have never had someone rush through a haircut the way she did, which is why my cut looks terrible. Then the assistant and Alisha were both drying my hair at the same time, pulling my head in every different direction. Also, an attachment fell off Alisha's hairdryer and her response were another beautiful comment, "oh your fucker". So classy. I paid, even tipped because I knew if I didn't she would say something and left, I did not even tell Alisha I hated my hair because I didn't want to deal with her piss poor attitude any longer. You can see the pictures attached to this review, #1 is what I showed Alisha I wanted for my balayage color and #2 & #3 are what I left with, blonde highlights. I made an appointment to go back because she was pushy and said it would take 2-3 sessions to get my hair to be balayage, but I have zero intentions of ever showing up for that appointment. I want my money refunded and if I do not get it back, I will be disputing the charge with my credit card company. read more

I have been going to Twisted Elegance with Alisha for a couple years now and my hair has never looked and felt better. She has great knowledge on what hair color and cut would look natural and beautiful on each person. She has really transformed my hair. She is honest, and helps you decide on a color that isn't too high maintenance so you aren't coming into the salon every few weeks. She even introduced me to the Brazilian blowout which has been life changing!!! It is always nerve racking going to someone new for your hair, but be assured coming to Twisted Elegance is the right move. Now onto the salon itself. I absolutely love coming here. It really is like a sanctuary as you can see from the pictures attached. The salon is in an old mansion that is beautiful with lots of character that sits on a lake. While your hair is processing you can enjoy some coffee/tea and snacks while sitting on the couch overlooking the lake while listening to the birds chirping. It honestly is so relaxing and tranquil. Salon is beautiful. Good energy, Alisha is one of the sweetest and genuine people I have met. She uses Goldwell color and my balayage always comes out perfect. My hair feels renewed every time she uses the Olaplex products, and I look forward to the deep massage with the shampoo every time by her lovely assistant! It's so relaxing and I have seen many clients that have had extensions done by her and they are flawless. I will be going back for and extensions consult in the near future. She has a stunning zen room where they do "goddess nights" and host events for young living essential oils (my favorite) and off to the side another room for eyelash extensions. They offer brow waxing and henna for the brows as well as massage upstairs and the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is I wish they did facials and mani/pedis too!! Hate to do this as I am a huge supporter of small businesses but this salon has some twisted customer service. Came in for Balayage highlights. From the start I said I did not want the highlights to be brassy or warm toned. I asked for a last minute appointment which was definitely a mistake as I felt the appointment was extremely rushed and unfocused as Alisha was catering to 3 other clients at the same time. Came home and blow dried my hair and noticed a lot of brass and warm tones. Reached back out to the salon and they told me they would add more toner to cancel out the brass. I showed up and Alisha had a quick consult with me and said she does not see what I see but will do the toner being pretty adamant that she could do no wrong. Once it was done she said I would defintely need to book a relight as this cancelled out any color she painted on. I was then charged $30 which I was not expecting and should not have been charged - it's not my fault it came out brassy. In addition to that I would have to pay ALL OVER again for a re-light...I just paid $160 for nothing?! Everyone I have relayed this story to are all in shock about me getting charged for toner and pretty much start over again and pay again for the highlights I already paid for. The toner made my "highlights" look greenish in some light, not cute! I reached out to the salon asking for a partial refund as I got NOTHING out of this appointment besides wasting my time and losing money. No response. Went to a local salon near my house and they catered to me to make sure I was happy and did not experience the same disappointment and gave me the beautiful (non brass, non warm) blonde highlights I was seeking. Really disappointed as I wanted this to be my go to salon but my money was stolen and I was treated poorly. Twisted indeed. read more

Just had an eye opening experience at the new salon I decided to try today! They were able to identify key issues with my hair, and what caused them. After months of trying to grow my hair, and wondering why it feels like it stopped growing all together, they were able to educate me and be honest with me about what they can and cannot do to my hair. We were also able to set up a treatment plan with my hair to get it back to being long, strong, and healthy. Lastly, they recommended this great product for me to take home and treat my hair in between visits! I'm excited to try Olaplex! I've heard so many good things about it, it's like science in a bottle for your hair! Alisha has a natural talent when it comes to hair, something that can't be taught in beauty school. I never have to worry when I come see her for anything or go into too much detail about what I want done. She just knows and I put my hair in her hands. It's a little far since I live in Boston but it's definitely worth it. Iv also been wearing hair extensions for 10 years. Iv experienced many disasters at other salons where they don't properly install the bonds and leave me with bald spots. I found Alisha through word of mouth and wow what a difference. She uses a technique where the bonds are literally exactly like your real hair and are comfortable and don't damage your hair at all. Also the salon itself is beautiful and peaceful. read more

This salon is great :-) Been going here for my color and hair extensions for about 3-4 months now. Alisha is absolutely amazing. Ive never had my color and extensions look so natural. I thought i loved my hair before but she brought it to a whole other level. :-) not to mention shes very reasonable and reliable. She also does spray tan. Ive spray tanned for years but she really does a great job. The salon is chic, relaxing and peaceful unlike the usual busy, rushed, trying to get the next client in the chair, salons in the city. I've never walked out of an appointment before, but there's a first time for everything. At least they hadn't gotten their hands on my hair before I left! This was my first time in the salon and they didn't even welcome me, the first reaction was to tell me how late they were running. I also overheard that the stylist was going to have someone else shampoo me while she worked on another client, which irked me. Furthermore, I heard another stylist complaining about a client who canceled on her; that's just bad etiquette to do in front of other clients. But above all, I left because the second I walked into the salon all I could smell was cigarettes. To me, there is nothing more off-putting in an environment that is supposed to be pampering. It's unfortunate that I didn't even get to have my hair styled to judge this salon, but I definitely won't be going back. *In addition after this business responded to my review: Passive aggressively stating that I removed my "bad energy" from your salon further exhibits my point about your customer service. I'm glad for you that you get so many positive reviews, but I do feel others have the right to know the negative as well. It's up to you to take the feedback as you wish. read more

Yes, I'm that person with a 1 star review that you might pass by, but hear me out... This place was next to a beautiful lake. And that, was the only good thing about the experience. Rebecca completely messed up everything about my haircut. I was more astonished than anything...that literally every aspect of the haircut could have been done so poorly. I can't stress this enough: she let me leave this place with a haircut that looked silly and terrible. How can a hair stylist do that? Makes you wonder! Today was my first visit to Twisted Elegance, and I'm so happy I found this salon! Alisha colored my hair, and it looks gorgeous. I'm naturally quite dark, and have been trying to go blonde, Alisha made a plan to get me to my perfect "Pinterest picture" Hair. The color is gorgeous, she's committed to hair health and really seems to naturally understand what a client's hair needs. As a swimmer she gave me tips and tricks to protect my locks, and clearly she takes a lot of pride in educating her clients so they can have the best hair possible. I love the location, it's quiet and serene. I had the option of color processing in natural sunlight outside, which I obviously took advantage of. I came to her over email about getting my ombre touched up and in "crisis" mode as my main stylist at some snobby salon almost made me in tears 6 days before my wedding as they were located in Cambridge, MA and Burlington, MA- I made my first apt in cambridge location unaware they had NO parking or street anywhere near by, causing me to drive around for 45mins to find parking in a $35 garage after telling them I would be a few mins late i finally arrived running 5 blocks 10 mins later( swear I'm not exaggerating) and they refused to see me until I got a manager. Really on your wedding hair highlights your going to do that to a long time client and cause that extra stress and not make me feel beautiful and relaxed but instead act like I owe you for doing this- after $300 for highlights/ conditioner and haircut I was all set w/ a snobby vibe salon! So i've been hunting around since to find a new stylist who is trendy chick sweet and experienced to take my hair over, adventurous to try NEW styles and things but yet keeps it natural and enhances the beauty within, just can have fun w/ latest trends but not tacky or unprofessional. Long story short- I emailed Alisha with a week work of times that I had open for hair, I was really excited to try her and in a crisis hair 411 to fit in an apt for highlights and consult about extensions. She didn't have anything open but offered to see me on a day she was off bc of my limited time before vacation, welcoming a new client. Awesome from the start w/ customer service accommodating to fit me in! LOVED the very cute modern black w/ pops of silver salon, and left feeling happy w/ results. We reunited my love for a little extra fullness and decided to try extensions again after having out for over 6 months. I had ombre and only Socap seemed to be the only company who currently had them, she wasn't a huge fan as issues in the past, unreliable delivery dates, hair wasn't as FULL per piece but we both agreed to give them a try for my hair color situation because they did have a sample that was spot on matching an ombre look . Remember my time was limited as I fit this all in 1 week before vacation. She offered to order them over phone and confirm the delivery date to ensure I would have ontime, even ended up "paying for overnight delivery" to keep a happy client. Then we finally get the hair, my appointment arrives fresh out of the overnighted package they were the WRONG color. Immediately Alisha reacted to calling the head person in charge to fix this situation. They offered to overnight again new hair ensuring it was the correct color this time from NYC w/ an insincere laughing apology. I had to switch my schedule to get another day to come as it wasn't easy being the manager at a company last minute, but Alisha was so determined to give me the best experience she said I don't care if its midnight we'll get this hair in as I promised you and apologized so sincerely for this company messing up. I finally got to switch my shift and again the same thing happened w/ SoCap. Then they tried to personally offer this reddish ombre hair while I ordered medium brown w/ golden blonde ends. ENough was ENOUGH- we were done w/ this company. She personally drove down to Boston to get the brand "Hair Stiletto" and bought my exact hair color and ombre'd each piece herself w/ an awesome fade from brown to blonde. This hair is thicker, shinny and you get more per piece which I LOVE. All before my 6:30pm appointment she worked miracles- who knows a stylist this dedicated and goes out of her way to make their clients happy- personally she truly cared how I walked away as a new client. I'm a manager as well and order from multiple venders and its very frustrating when you get the wrong product, its customer service that makes the difference in delivery. Alisha was 200% dedicated and It turned out to be amazingly matched extensions that I LOVE and introduced too because of HER, everyone complimented on vaca and they look better than I ever had before but SO natural and just giving me fullness and some extra length( but nothing crazy). "Hair Stiletto"- ahhhhh best new extensions discovered at such an affordable price, they curl, feel and look amazing! i will NEVER go back to SoCap or another SALON. I am in love with this "boutique style" salon! It didn't have the feel of your typical salon... It felt more like I was in a girlfriends cozy home! I got there a little bit early so I had a chance to really pay attention to all of the great design details. I'm a sucker for that stuff! While I waited for my Stylist, Alisha, finish up with her client before me... I was in awe of the amazing hair extensions I saw her put in! So many of my friends have them and I've never see them looks so natural... I will be recommending her to them!! I on the other hand, was there for a Brazilian blowout. I was so happy with the end result... My hair has never felt so silky and smooth! The salon also smelled like heaven... When I saw that they used/sold the product Oribe, I was thrilled to stock up on products for myself and my sister! Thank you for such an amazing experience! Alisha is a color genius! My sister has been getting her hair ombred at the salon for almost two years now, and she has the most beautiful color. Everywhere we go, everyone asks where she gets it done - she's like a walking advertisement! We've had friends drive over an hour to get their hair colored here. I went to Alisha for a few haircuts and blowouts and always loved it, but was too nervous to dabble with any color. I finally decided I wanted a fun change, and went to Alisha with a photo of what color ombre I wanted. The outcome was even more beautiful. I cannot even count how many compliments I have gotten. People are so impressed with the blending of the ombre, particularly because I have very dark, long, thick hair. Great salon! I love coming here to get my highlights, cut, style, and hair extensions. I always get the best results and feel super comfortable with Alisha, the owner, and the rest of the wonderful staff. Everyone is very experienced and professional and the results are always fantastic. The inside of the salon is very nicely decorated, modern, trendy, and it's always clean. There is also plenty of parking around which makes it convenient, so I don't have to worry about driving around to look for a spot and it's also free parking, which is a plus. I'm new to the area and had my hair previously cut in Danvers. That cut had been so horrible I had never worn it down and styled. I bleached it to compensate for my unhappiness and thus, fried it(I'm a do it yourselfer, lol). I had my hair cut by Rebecca today. She did the most wonderful job showing me what was wrong with the old cut and she walked me through the steps she took to fix it, making sure I was comfortable with the changes she was making. I've been coming here for about six months now regularly for eyelash extensions and Michelle is AMAZING! She makes my lashes look long and full without being over the top. I'm usually able to go 3 weeks (with proper care of my extensions) before I need a fill. Even at the 3 week mark they're still looking pretty epic. She is always on time, friendly, but still very professional. Ultimately her goal is always to please whoever is in her chair and you can tell she really loves what she does. I had a wonderful experience at my first appointment at Twisted Elegance from beginning to end. The place truly is elegant and relaxing from the moment you walk in. There is a receptionist who greats you and shows you to the waiting room with a beverage/snack area. The music in the waiting area is relaxing massage/yoga type of music. Then I was taken to a small hair salon room where the stylists were professional. Since there was a receptionist, they did not have to leave their clients to answer the phones.
