Casey is amazing! She gave me exactly what I wanted! I have naturally blonde hair and I have never dyed it. I wanted a few lighter highlights that looked natural to brighten my hair up a little. She did an amazing job and my hair feels so soft and healthy. She trimmed my split ends and did a nice layered cut on my hair. She really knows what she's doing and knows what looks good! She is also super sweet and easy to talk to. This salon is full of very nice girls that are genuine and nice, but professional. It is a welcoming place that feels relaxed. 2nd time at this salon and service was great. They make it easy for you to set up an appointment online through their website and then they follow up through email to coordinate a time. Izzy was my hairdresser and she was stellar! Besides having to wear a mask at all times, the service was the same as normal operating times. I cut about 12 inches off and she followed my instructions well and did a great job styling it at the end. Casey is great. She listens to what you want. I repeat a stylist that actually listens! I have long thick level 7 blond curly hair that I blow out and add barrel curls to. My hair was butchered into layers I didn't want at another salon. She is cool with trimming the bottom and letting the awful layers grow out. No pressure to cut anything else. I dye my base color at home bec that is what I want. It's more convenient and I don't want to be in the salon every 2 weeks. Again Casey is cool about it. I have Casey do the balayage. It came out awesome. I've had it done twice with her. I like a thicker root and again she did what I said. The color is pretty (I don't want brutal ash), it's well blended, and the placement is great. My hair pulls warm but Casey is able to figure it out. If you want a friendly stylist that works at a drama free salon, listens to clients and really knows what she is doing I highly recommend Casey. I think the prices are reasonable for the quality, services and frequency. I go 4x per year for a cut + balayage + style for $175 + tip. read more

This salon is a GEM! Newbury Street talent with a friendly, neighborhood vibe... I must say I am a little biased, as I worked at this amazing salon for the past six years. This salon, and in particular Kelly, completely transformed my hair. I was an over-processed blonde with a lot of gold (natural hair is dark brunette). I wanted to go darker with an ombre and tone out the gold. Not an easy thing to do in one session but Kelly pulled off a miracle and I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. It was precisely the look I wanted. She was patient and thorough as we went step by step through the whole process. A shoutout to Liz, her assistant who was also awesome! While I was there I discussed having extensions added as well. Kelly explained the process, we picked out colors and less than a week later I was back in the chair for part two of the transformation. Kelly knew exactly what she was doing and I was amazed at how quickly she put 100 strands of extensions in my head! It didn't hurt at all (although she kept checking to make sure I was ok). The colors she chose were a perfect match and she blended my existing hair so that the look was seamless. The salon is neat, clean and in my two sessions running completely on schedule. Lot's of convenient parking nearby and reasonable pricing for the quality of work. My stylist was in a rush and did not give me the cut I asked for. It looks sloppy and she never asked me how I liked it. I felt completely rushed. I love this salon. I first went here in April to get lashes put on for my Vegas trip. The salon does not mention this, but my lashes lasted about 5 days! I had my haircut by Janelle in August, and she was amazing. I recently moved about an hour south of the salon, and I plan to stay. She did such an amazing job, I tried a few hairdressers to try and get the perfect bob, and she did it. I'm obsessed with my haircut and get so many compliments on the cut itself. Being a guy and going to a salon can be intimidating. It always feels a little awkward walking through the doors knowing that your stepping into a world that's primarily used by women....but that's not the case at Salon on Haven. Hannah T. and her co-workers at SoH make you feel welcome and relaxed as soon as you walk through the doors. The salon itself is surprisingly large, modern, clean, and cool. And as far as I can tell the place is always busy, so they must be doing something right (I had a 7:15pm appointment and the place was still packed with customers). I went to this beautiful Salon about a week ago. I had just moved back to mass and was in need of a new stylist. I had made an appointment for 11 in a Saturday and canceled an hour before my appointment due to a scheduling conflict. The woman in the phone was very understanding and helpful. Fortunately I became free towards the end of the day and called to see if there was any availability. I was pleasantly surprised to hear they could accommodate me. Even though I was Kristins last appointment of the day she didn't rush me. I lucked out getting Kristin for my first visit there. Although I do think I would have been lucky to get anyone there. All staff looked professional and were extremely friendly and positive. Great environment! I will be going back to Kristin for sure! She really knows what she is doing. I hardly ever leave a 5 star review but Kristin deserves it. I received a hair cut, ombré color, and something similar to a keratin treatment. Kristin is friendly and personable which made me feel very relaxed. She doted on me enough that I felt like my comfort was important to her but not so much that I felt smothered or unable to relax. Her genuine excitement and enjoyment for her job was clear. She explained step by step what she was doing and why she was doing it which showed her wide depth of knowledge which helped me feel confident in the person I had allowed to make a huge change to my hair. I've been to several salons all over from MA, NC, and CA. This is by far the best out of all. Definitely found my go-to salon for all my hair needs. Jess is a miracle worker. She is very personable and listened to all my concerns and wishes for my hair. I had horrible roots from previous highlight jobs. Jess transformed my hair with a beautiful balayage/ombre. Are you kidding with the 'want to keep your clients happy' crap? I am still growing out a crappy hair cut by Kayli and to think I gave her at tip. This is the only business that never makes good on terrible service. Thanks to your shop, my hair will take at least a year to grow out - now I learned to NEVER tip until I wait at least one month to see how the hair cut works out. This salon caters to a very young crowd - and long hair is very easy to cut - you need to teach your stylists (if you can call them stylists) how to cut short hair. Beware of this salon - they are the worst ever. This is truly the worst hair cut I have ever had and this salon does not care about client satisfaction. How about if I sit the hair stylist in the chair and I cut HER hair exactly how she cut my hair? How would that work out? And how about if Kayli admits she screwed up and this salon give me free hair cuts for one year until this crap grows out? Maybe if you have that policy your so called stylists would pay a bit more attention and also learn how to cut hair. This is the only business where we are at the mercy of people who take our money and then we have to live with their mistakes for months. Maybe I should rethink my career and go cut hair? I love this salon! I got an up-do for my sister's wedding and it was PERFECT! Ally asked me if I had any ideas and once I gave her a very general outline she filled in the blanks and the end result was amazing. Soft, romantic, and stayed in all night! We also got our make up done. Each of us in the bridal party got our make up done by a different person at the same time and every one of us had a gorgeous face all night! Natural and fresh-- perfect for an August wedding. Each stylist is talented and smart, quick to pick up on what you want and, at the same time, give you what you need. I don't understand the positive reviews. I've now tried this place twice. And the second experience was worst than the first. 65$ for a 20 minute rush job. Yes, 20 minutes includes wash, style, and paying. What went wrong? First, it turned out the person who greeted me and took me back is not the stylist. She just washes the hair - ok, but that means the stylist never met me with dry hair, never discussed my style or cut before washing, did not check out my hair when dry. Those things are important because I have coarse curly hair. How can the stylist do a good job if she doesn't see how my curls and layers behave when dry? Next, I think they charged me extra for some special conditioner. I wasn't told that it would be extra, simply "hey - we've got this new deep treatment conditioner, do you want to try it?" And it was only on my hair for 30 seconds before she rinsed it off. Not very effective... Finally met the stylist. And both the stylist and assistant were trying to push product on me. Between that and the rush job, I felt like I was only $$$$ to the business. Nice people, mediocre cut - they didn't fix my layers. My stylist did not know how to handle curly hair - asked several times if I wanted it to be straightened. No! Some of us embrace the curl. 65$ for nothing. read more

BEST SALON EVER. On May 10th, 2014 I had the absolute delight of having their stylists Michelle F and Kelly G to my house to get me and my bridesmaids & mom ready for the big day. They were upbeat, positive, flexible and did an AMAZING job! I was so happy with not only how my hair looked, but how great EVERYONE looked! All night everyone kept asking, "Where did you guys go to get your hair done!? Who did your hair!?" They were so professional and took the time to really listen and make everyone feel comfortable! Immediately upon graduation she began working at Salon on Haven. I loved how nice the girls were and how clean the Salon is. This salon, though very nice looking is quite a scam. I got my hair done there about a year ago and though it looked quite lovely at first, it actually only lasted until I took a shower the next day. I specifically asked the stylist while she was doing my hair how long would it be until i would have to come back to get it touched up?, she said about a month, which i thought was kinda short for spending over 300$ on my hair. but I was already half way through and I wasn't going to quit. My hair did not even last a month. Also at the end of my appointment they pressured me into buying an extra $50+ worth of shampoo and conditioner to help extend the life of the color in my hair. The shampoo smelled awful and did nothing to help my hair color and only hurt my wallet. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS SALON! read more
