Great place for a haircut, the salon is nice and clean, Brianna was very friendly and she did a great job!

I have been getting my haircut by Nicole for 2 years and I love the result every time. She is an excellent stylist and has a great sense of taste. Can't say enough good things about her and salon as a whole. read more

Casey is amazing! She gave me exactly what I wanted! I have naturally blonde hair and I have never dyed it. I wanted a few lighter highlights that looked natural to brighten my hair up a little. She did an amazing job and my hair feels so soft and healthy. She trimmed my split ends and did a nice layered cut on my hair. She really knows what she's doing and knows what looks good! She is also super sweet and easy to talk to. This salon is full of very nice girls that are genuine and nice, but professional. It is a welcoming place that feels relaxed. There is tons of parking outside on the street and the prices are reasonable. read more

I highly recommend this salon. Very professional, friendly, clean and I was made to feel at home while I was treated to an amazing experience. I visited Lexi for a foil and bangs trim. My color came out amazing, love my bangs and the hair washing alone felt amazing! Kelly did my extensions maintenance while I was there, and she, too was fantastic. Great results, very reasonable prices. Definitely going back. read more

2nd time at this salon and service was great. They make it easy for you to set up an appointment online through their website and then they follow up through email to coordinate a time. Izzy was my hairdresser and she was stellar! Besides having to wear a mask at all times, the service was the same as normal operating times. I cut about 12 inches off and she followed my instructions well and did a great job styling it at the end. Would definitely go back here, it has a great hometown vibe and the staff are friendly. read more

I was a first time client with Hannah R. and she totally eased my anxieties around hair dyeing. She gave me her opinion on what I should do, and my hair came out great! The salon staff was super friendly and the salon itself was very clean and modern. The only thing that I didn't like was the price. It came out to be a little expensive, but in the end it was worth the money for the quality hair care I received. I will definitely be going back. read more

Casey is great. She listens to what you want. I repeat a stylist that actually listens! I have long thick level 7 blond curly hair that I blow out and add barrel curls to. My hair was butchered into layers I didn't want at another salon. She is cool with trimming the bottom and letting the awful layers grow out. No pressure to cut anything else. I dye my base color at home bec that is what I want. It's more convenient and I don't want to be in the salon every 2 weeks. Again Casey is cool about it. I have Casey do the balayage. It came out awesome. I've had it done twice with her. I like a thicker root and again she did what I said. The color is pretty (I don't want brutal ash), it's well blended, and the placement is great. My hair pulls warm but Casey is able to figure it out. If you want a friendly stylist that works at a drama free salon, listens to clients and really knows what she is doing I highly recommend Casey. I think the prices are reasonable for the quality, services and frequency. I go 4x per year for a cut + balayage + style for $175 + tip. read more

This salon is a GEM! Newbury Street talent with a friendly, neighborhood vibe... I must say I am a little biased, as I worked at this amazing salon for the past six years. It was such a pleasure going into work each day, excited to be with my coworkers (you don't find that often in majority female atmospheres!), and each day was more rewarding than the day prior. The owner, Jacqui, does an incredible job ensuring clients are relaxed, sales are well-thought out, season specials are offered, and the salon is kept in tip-top shape. I decided to move on to education development within the beauty industry, and I cannot say enough about how much Jacqui ensures her stylists are set up for success with educational opportunities. Complete with an associate program, you can be sure your stylist has had PLENTY of training. I have moved to NYC, but still crave going home to get my color done! The salon is perfect for any occasion - color touch-ups, quick trims, dramatic cuts, spray tans for vacation, waxes in a bind, blow outs for a date, makeup tips, and especially your wedding day! If you are the least bit unsure, go in for a free consultation, and I am positive any stylist will impress you with their knowledge and put you at ease with their friendly manner. To the ladies at The Salon on Haven - keep doing amazing work!! Five stars on any day!! read more

This salon, and in particular Kelly, completely transformed my hair. I was an over-processed blonde with a lot of gold (natural hair is dark brunette). I wanted to go darker with an ombre and tone out the gold. Not an easy thing to do in one session but Kelly pulled off a miracle and I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. It was precisely the look I wanted. She was patient and thorough as we went step by step through the whole process. A shoutout to Liz, her assistant who was also awesome! While I was there I discussed having extensions added as well. Kelly explained the process, we picked out colors and less than a week later I was back in the chair for part two of the transformation. Kelly knew exactly what she was doing and I was amazed at how quickly she put 100 strands of extensions in my head! It didn't hurt at all (although she kept checking to make sure I was ok). The colors she chose were a perfect match and she blended my existing hair so that the look was seamless. The salon is neat, clean and in my two sessions running completely on schedule. Lot's of convenient parking nearby and reasonable pricing for the quality of work. I don't write reviews nearly as often as I should but can't help but write this because Kelly was so fantastic to work with. I'm happy to have found my new salon! read more

I've had long tresses, it's been 20 years since I've had my hair styled. Hannah truly listened, understood what I wanted, and she delivered exactly! She also educated me about a couple products that would help me maintain the new look. Great, professional product line is helpful. The salon is medium sized, everyone encountered very friendly and professional. Thank you!!! I recommend them highly! On-street parking, styling reasonable fee, $45. read more

I LOVE this salon! All of the girls are very sweet and equally as talented. Michelle has been cutting my hair on and off for a few years now and I am always delighted with the outcome. The salon is a bit pricey but I assure you it's worth the money! I've had everything from color correcting and spray tanning to extensions and bang trims done here - always a happy camper! read more

I love going here! I see Jessica Waitt and she is fabulous! She does my cuts, waxing and cuts my son's hair (starting at 12 months old). The staff is friendly and attentive. They also offer fun classes on topics like Blow Drying your hair. I took this with Jessica and had so much fun. Walked away with new stills and a great swag bag. Check out this Salon! read more

Thank you lord for Kelly! She did an amazing job on my hair. I had long hair, about half way down my back and asked Kelly to do a Bob but not too short. It looks amazing! I showed her a pic I found online and she made it happen, I love it. So this salon has assistant's to help the stylist prep you, everyone was so friendly and Kelly was so excited to do my hair. She talked to me about what I wanted and asked questions about how short and styles I would like to do at home and using a curling iron, etc. I will definitely be back. read more

Let me just start by saying Jackie Mello is an angel from the hairstyling heavens. I have been going to hairstylist after hairstylist for years without ever feeling completely satisfied with my look. Jackie is a fantastic listener and boy, does she deliver!! She really took the time to listen to all of my concerns (and let me tell you, I have a lot!) and graciously explained each step of the color correction process. Homegirl has some serious skills!! The salon is impeccably tidy with a warm and welcoming atmosphere! read more

My stylist was in a rush and did not give me the cut I asked for. It looks sloppy and she never asked me how I liked it. I felt completely rushed. Usually the stylist asks during the cut if it's enough take off, how do you like it, etc? She said nothing, just rushed away. Tomorrow I will be going to another salon to get it fixed. read more

I love this salon. I first went here in April to get lashes put on for my Vegas trip. The salon does not mention this, but my lashes lasted about 5 days! I had my haircut by Janelle in August, and she was amazing. I recently moved about an hour south of the salon, and I plan to stay. She did such an amazing job, I tried a few hairdressers to try and get the perfect bob, and she did it. I'm obsessed with my haircut and get so many compliments on the cut itself. Kristin did my spray tan last night and it came out amazing, she was helpful, told me to call her if it didn't dry well. I just love this place. read more

Wow!!!! Got my hair done by Kaylie! Wonderful wonderful job! I went from a brunette to almost a blonde which is what i was going for. She was great. My hair looks amazing!! Jacqui and team are phenomenal! She works her magic at every visit with a smile and welcomes my suggestions and shares her professional feedback in such a warm and comfortable way! Being a guy and going to a salon can be intimidating. It always feels a little awkward walking through the doors knowing that your stepping into a world that's primarily used by women....but that's not the case at Salon on Haven. Hannah T. and her co-workers at SoH make you feel welcome and relaxed as soon as you walk through the doors. The salon itself is surprisingly large, modern, clean, and cool. And as far as I can tell the place is always busy, so they must be doing something right (I had a 7:15pm appointment and the place was still packed with customers). The price was right, Hannah was super nice and thoughtful, and the location was warm and inviting. Am I going back? Damn right. Thx, HT. read more

I went to this beautiful Salon about a week ago. I had just moved back to mass and was in need of a new stylist. I had made an appointment for 11 in a Saturday and canceled an hour before my appointment due to a scheduling conflict. The woman in the phone was very understanding and helpful. Fortunately I became free towards the end of the day and called to see if there was any availability. I was pleasantly surprised to hear they could accommodate me. Even though I was Kristins last appointment of the day she didn't rush me. I lucked out getting Kristin for my first visit there. Although I do think I would have been lucky to get anyone there. All staff looked professional and were extremely friendly and positive. Great environment! I will be going back to Kristin for sure! She really knows what she is doing. Not only that she was super friendly and gave me a great education about my cut and the products that were best for me! Salon on haven is my new spot! read more

I hardly ever leave a 5 star review but Kristin deserves it. I received a hair cut, ombré color, and something similar to a keratin treatment. Kristin is friendly and personable which made me feel very relaxed. She doted on me enough that I felt like my comfort was important to her but not so much that I felt smothered or unable to relax. Her genuine excitement and enjoyment for her job was clear. She explained step by step what she was doing and why she was doing it which showed her wide depth of knowledge which helped me feel confident in the person I had allowed to make a huge change to my hair. I am happy to say that I've found my new stylist and would recommend her a million times over. read more

This place is such a find. I moved to Reading recently and wanted a place that felt like the modern salons in the city. This is it. The staff is overwhelmingly friendly, the salon is comfortable and well kept, and the prices are reasonable. I worked with Hannah and she was just the best and an absolute sweetheart. She worked so hard to ensure that my hair looked exactly like I wanted, even redoing it when the color wasn't quite there at first. I was so impressed. I highly recommend this place and Hannah in particular. read more

I recently moved to the area and was told to go to Salon on Haven. It's nerve-wrecking getting a new stylist, but Kristin C was great. I got highlights, a cut, and style, and left feeling wonderful. She recommended products but wasn't pushy about it. The salon is neat and modern-looking. Prices are not cheap, but reasonable for the high-quality work they do. My hair looked gorgeous and I'll be back. read more

I've been to several salons all over from MA, NC, and CA. This is by far the best out of all. Definitely found my go-to salon for all my hair needs. Jess is a miracle worker. She is very personable and listened to all my concerns and wishes for my hair. I had horrible roots from previous highlight jobs. Jess transformed my hair with a beautiful balayage/ombre. My naturally black hair looks very natural with the caramel color which is exactly what I wanted. Jess definitely knows what she is doing! read more

I love this salon! I got an up-do for my sister's wedding and it was PERFECT! Ally asked me if I had any ideas and once I gave her a very general outline she filled in the blanks and the end result was amazing. Soft, romantic, and stayed in all night! We also got our make up done. Each of us in the bridal party got our make up done by a different person at the same time and every one of us had a gorgeous face all night! Natural and fresh-- perfect for an August wedding. Each stylist is talented and smart, quick to pick up on what you want and, at the same time, give you what you need. Modern and clean atmosphere. I went for the first time. The stylist really CARED. I have curly hair and it is hard to find a salon that knows what they are doing with that. I wanted a certain look and I feel great about what I came out with and that almost never happens. I also had my four year old with me and it wasn't a problem. read more

I came here based on the Yelp reviews, and I was not disappointed. I had a vision in mind, and my stylist Jackie delivered! I will definitely be back! read more

Are you kidding with the 'want to keep your clients happy' crap? I am still growing out a crappy hair cut by Kayli and to think I gave her at tip. This is the only business that never makes good on terrible service. Thanks to your shop, my hair will take at least a year to grow out - now I learned to NEVER tip until I wait at least one month to see how the hair cut works out. This salon caters to a very young crowd - and long hair is very easy to cut - you need to teach your stylists (if you can call them stylists) how to cut short hair. Beware of this salon - they are the worst ever. This is truly the worst hair cut I have ever had and this salon does not care about client satisfaction. How about if I sit the hair stylist in the chair and I cut HER hair exactly how she cut my hair? How would that work out? And how about if Kayli admits she screwed up and this salon give me free hair cuts for one year until this crap grows out? Maybe if you have that policy your so called stylists would pay a bit more attention and also learn how to cut hair. This is the only business where we are at the mercy of people who take our money and then we have to live with their mistakes for months. Maybe I should rethink my career and go cut hair? After all, any crap job will do and you don't have to worry about consequences. Kayli, thanks for a job poorly done. read more

BEST SALON EVER. On May 10th, 2014 I had the absolute delight of having their stylists Michelle F and Kelly G to my house to get me and my bridesmaids & mom ready for the big day. They were upbeat, positive, flexible and did an AMAZING job! I was so happy with not only how my hair looked, but how great EVERYONE looked! All night everyone kept asking, "Where did you guys go to get your hair done!? Who did your hair!?" They were so professional and took the time to really listen and make everyone feel comfortable! Was it a bit on the expensive side? Yes. But you get what you pay for; and I got AMAZING service! Thanks Michelle and Kelly! You guys rule! :) read more

My stylist Jessica Olsen Waitt is brilliant. I live South of Boston and travel to Reading to get my hair done. I have known Jessica when she was in hair school. I don't understand the positive reviews. I've now tried this place twice. And the second experience was worst than the first. 65$ for a 20 minute rush job. Yes, 20 minutes includes wash, style, and paying. What went wrong? First, it turned out the person who greeted me and took me back is not the stylist. She just washes the hair - ok, but that means the stylist never met me with dry hair, never discussed my style or cut before washing, did not check out my hair when dry. Those things are important because I have coarse curly hair. How can the stylist do a good job if she doesn't see how my curls and layers behave when dry? Next, I think they charged me extra for some special conditioner. I wasn't told that it would be extra, simply "hey - we've got this new deep treatment conditioner, do you want to try it?" And it was only on my hair for 30 seconds before she rinsed it off. Not very effective... Finally met the stylist. And both the stylist and assistant were trying to push product on me. Between that and the rush job, I felt like I was only $$$$ to the business. Nice people, mediocre cut - they didn't fix my layers. My stylist did not know how to handle curly hair - asked several times if I wanted it to be straightened. No! Some of us embrace the curl. 65$ for nothing. read more

I want to send a big thank you to the Salon on Haven for their talented work and professionalism on the day of my wedding. Amy, Jacqui and Jess traveled to the Hyatt Harborside on 9/29/12 for some onsite pampering. They came prepared and brought a fun upbeat energy. Everyone's updo's were a little different but complimented each other at the same time. The makeup came out flawless and looking very natural, they really listened to the concept I was going for. I was very impressed with the end result as were all the girls in the bridal party. After a long day of running around, pictures and dancing everyone's hair stayed intact and we all looked just as beautiful at the end of the night. Everybody looked stunning thanks to Amy, Jacqui and Jess! Amy is my routine hair stylist who does an amazing job with cut, style and color I always leave the salon with a huge smile on my face. On the day of the wedding she went above and beyond my expectations with my hair and makeup. She is truly talented and will be my hairdresser for life!
