I recently moved (back) to the Beverly area from the Washington DC area and was in much need of a stylist. Through my roommate, I was recommended to Stephanie's Hair Design and decided "why not?" Number 1: I am very easy going with my hair so I like to see what stylists/colorists can come up with to give me a new look. Number 2: I am usually pampered by mom and get $70+ haircuts and colors. Now being on my own, I was interested to see what Stephanie's could offer me! I was given an appointment with Kristen for 10 AM and I always show up about 10 minutes early to appointments. She took me right away and I was very happy to be greeted by Stephanie herself as well when I walked in. Overall, I am obsessed with my haircut! The price... I am even more in love with and the fact that the salon has a "refer-a-friend" discount is awesome (both my roommate and I are receiving a discount)! Kristen gave me amazing layers and worked with a difficult "bang-situation" I had going on from a previous cut. She was very easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable. She listened to my concerns and did exactly what she thought I needed. She was also very careful not to over-cut, which I will admit happens all too much at salons. I got a haircut with Christina. I felt like the bangs needed to be a tiny bit shorter so I went back less than a week later and she charged me for a bang cut. Everyone I spoke with, including hairdressers said that was inappropriate for her to charge me again, especially since she's the owner. Also, I wanted more layers and she chopped the side of my hair so bad that I almost had a mullet. She's not a good hairdresser. I am very disappointed and I would never go back. I definitely do not recommend this shop. read more

Traumatic hair experience! I went here for IBE hair extensions, but left with severe damage to my hair and scalp. Returned a day later to have the extensions removed and not only was there no refund for the hair I purchased but I wasn't given the hair back either. The hair stylist Chloe refused to show me the original packaging the hair had come in and would not give me any info about it. She said she had to contact the company the hair came from directly in order to get a refund. I later reached out to the company, and found out she never contacted them in regards to my refund. Ive patiently waited for a resolution to this matter since March. Now the salon not only refuses to refund me but won't even send me the hair that I paid for and won't answer my emails or calls. I have since had to reach out to the BBB for help in this matter. read more

Ok seriously- Just book an appointment here, you won't regret it!! I've been coming to Stephanie's wonderful salon for years, and I always leave so happy. The facility is clean and spa-like, and I always feel so luxurious and relaxed here. I honestly just love hanging out in that space! I booked an appointment with Bri, and was blown away by her skills! She sat me down first and asked me questions about my hair, my budget, what I liked/disliked etc. She really took the time to make sure I was comfortable!! I am so clueless about hair and hair styles, so I asked Bri to do what she thought would look good for me and oh my god did she deliver! I walked out of the salon feeling so beautiful and happy. My daughter is on the front lines of this virus. She not only has been working throughout this pandemic, her husband is a paramedic in their community. They also have three young girls in their care. For my daughter's birthday I bought these extensions for her. Not only did they misrepresent their service, they injured her and refused to speak with her. I came to Stephanie's after over 10 years at another salon. I had an appointment with Stephanie herself, and she was great. She really listened to what I wanted; what I liked and what I didn't like. She worked with what I already had color wise to create a refreshed, dimensional, rich color. She did things differently than I've had done before, like wash my hair before coloring and using a steam machine to shorten the time the color is on my hair. I had a great experience at Stephanie's! I've been shopping around for a local salon that wouldn't break my bank and when I called Kristin had an opening to take me that afternoon. I was immediately offered tea or water as soon as I walked in and Kristin took me immediately. She sat down with me and walked through not only what I wanted today, but my current hair routine and what my general goals are for my hair as I've been trying to grow it out. After a clarifying treatment and cleaning up the ends, my hair hasn't looked this healthy in months! Everyone knows their stuff and really wants what's best for the customer. Love this place! I usually cut my own hair, but got a promotion from Stephanie's in the mail, and thought I'd give them a try. Redeeming the offer, and scheduling with Stephanie was easy, she was very pleasant, and I ended booking an appointment for my mother and me. The first impression was excellent. The space is very clean and inviting with great vibes :) and the prices are great. :) Our stylist, Katie was very pleasant, excellent at what she does, and KNOWLEDGEABLE. I left knowing everything I could ever want to know about hair care and the benefits of organic products! I ended up leaving with one of their awesome, SOMA all-natural clarifying shampoos...and you can tell the difference in your hair after the first time using it, and now after 2 months, it has truly been a miracle for my hair! I made an appointment with Stephanie after a mishap at another salon. My hair was a complete mess - different shades of gray and blue and green. I was completely lacking confidence and overall just felt like crap about myself. Stephanie was great, we talked for about 30 minutes on how to fix it and what I wanted it to look like. It was nice that she didn't just jump into it right away - she really wanted to understand what I wanted. To be honest, I just wanted the blue and greens out, but Stephanie took it to a whole other level. She wanted me to be happy, not just content. I liked the intimacy of the setting - there are only a few hair booths so you're really the focus of attention, which is rare in a salon these days. Stephanie even helped me save some money without my even having to ask her. This surprised me since she is the owner. I was really impressed. My hair is beautiful golden blonde, thanks to Stephanie.
