We visited another Best Buy location, but the TV we were interested in wasn't available, so we drove to this location. It took a while for a "blue shirt" employee to assist us, but he did call for someone to help us. It was our lucky day because we met Noel, a senior advisor. WOW! The TV that we were looking for was available, but it wasn't quite in our price range. I still couldn't justify the price tag. Noel asked us what we usually view on our TV - regular shows, movies, gaming, action movies, etc. He gave us a rundown on all the TVs and options. It turns out the TV we were interested in wasn't suited for our purposes. Noel was incredibly patient, and answered all our questions. He never made us feel like any question was too small. He showed us a TV that had everything we were looking for, and it was several hundred dollars less than the one we had our eyes on. Noel was called away, but another associate helped with payment, which was super-fast. While my husband went to get our car, the associate wheeled the TV to the front entrance. I totally forgot to get his name, but I appreciated that he waited until my husband drove up, and then placed the TV carefully inside our trunk! Now, this is how service should be! The TV was relatively easy to set up, just a lot of questions. The good thing is that Netflix is right on the screen, and there is a button exclusively for it on the remote control. The TV is a bit larger than our old one, so it will take some getting used to. I was very impressed with the service overall. It goes to show that not all larger locations have the best service. I will definitely purchase from the Markville Mall location in the future!

Inventory 4.5/5 They do pretty well with restocking, backorder items, and carrying a wide selection for everyone's budget and needs. Just be sure to read return policy for some high value items (monitors, graphics card, motherboard) as they may differ than regular items. Service 3.5/5 Recently came back after a year or so as I only visit when I need electronics. It's too tempting otherwise as there is always something that I end up buying due to it being on sale. That being said, there have been times it was harder to find someone to help despite a lot of employees in the store. The gentleman by the cashier (Eric I believe his name was) is super helpful and knowledgeable. Apart from helping customers, he remembers them as well as their interests, which is what brought them to the store in the first place. One recommendation would just be to have the employees more proactive for when customers come in and be within the area in case the customer has questions while they're browsing around.

But my first (and last) service experience was a nightmare. Absolutely incompetent in PROCESS and in TECHNOLOGY. I took a laptop for data recovery, and they returned my SSD chip damaged. So, no data recovered, and the SSD drive was destroyed! See the details below: 1- Took it for recovery, and they said it has to be shipped to the HQ 2- Two months passed, and I had not heard back. So, went in and inquired. I was told that HQ was busy. I asked how long, and they said, "We don't know."? I asked them to call, but they had no calling ability! I asked them to cancel and request it back. 3- The laptop comes with the SSD in a separate case! The tech desk puts it in for me. 4- I go home, and the SSD is not recognizable 5- I take it back. The same person told me, "The HQ removed the chip from the SSD as part of the data recovery". So, I asked them to put it back. They had to send it back to HW for that "chip soldering." 6-another few weeks, and I get the same SSD back. They told me that it could not be fixed. I must have taken it somewhere else!!!! This wasn't done by them!!!! I am furious. But how do you reason with idiots? Any lawyers out there who want this case?

James replaced…read morethe screen and being technical myself I was concerned about Apple's lockdown, anti right to repair behaviour and part pairing. This requires certain work around to be able to achieve full functionality of the replaced part. For example, the display control chip and the code chip need to be removed from the old screen and re soldered to the new one. Upon receiving the laptop, from what I can see, True Tone, ambient light sensors and front facing camera are working.

Well you can go see a genius and have them tell you that they need close to $1000 to fix it. I think not! I decided to find a good component level repair person. I did a bunch of looking around and decided to call James Wu at Unitak Laptop Repair. After communicating with him over email, I decided to trust my MacBook Pro15 Retina to him and also took my MacBook Air 11 as well. I've suffered a lot of Apple Loss this year. An iPad lost it's wifi and iPhone7 lost it's microphone (Apple, in an internal memo agreed to fix their blunder but decided not to do it after all - check out MacRumors site about it) and the aforementioned notebooks. Ugh...these things didn't really happen with Jobs was on the job! James agreed to meet me at the Parkway Shoppes store which he rents a room at K&J Camera Services. The little room cluttered with notebook pieces and equipment littered everywhere had me a little uneasy but after a quick talk with him and witnessing how quickly he broke down the the 15" notebook and tested it - I knew I came to the right place. He told me that the graphics chip wasn't gone and proceeded to explain the process. I asked him to proceed and also asked him to replace the screen on the Air 11. As quick as I was checking my phone for messages and such, he took the whole Air apart and replaced the screen with a spare unit he had. I think it took a whole 15mins to do that repair. I left the Pro with him and the next day, I got back the notebook as if nothing had happened to it. He was really fair with his prices and I now have a place to get all my notebooks serviced for me and my clients. I got both notebooks repaired for HALF of repairing just ONE! Don't bother with the Genius Bar - where they want you to replace the whole circuit board (easy repair), take it to the True Genius at Unitak! Anyone who knows me professionally knows that I am not easily impressed by tech peeps. I am very impressed with James. CHEERS!

I found one on sale at Bestbuy. That was soon returned due to over heating issues with the tempered glass side panel. I got a bigger tower (no glass) thinking it would be better for air flow and I could add an extra fan if needed. The issues with Asus desktops is the software they put on it. Armory Crate and Asus software comes pre-installed, and takes up a ton of memory and is conflicting with windows 11 and the graphics card. The memory use is well over 65% with nothing running, just turning it on. And yes I'm tech savvy and have no background programs running that are not necessary for the computer to run. I have sent it back to Asus (under warranty) to take off their software and make the computer usable. To run any program like Photoshop or any games it just crashes, even surfing the net it crashes, there is not enough memory space to run anything. They ran a data scan and told me there is nothing wrong and shipped it back. Of course I sent it back saying the same thing as it's not an operational computer. Well that was 4 months ago. Now there is a clip broken where it holds the ram stick from Fedex throwing it around and they want me to pay $400 to fix it. Get F***ed! First that is not the issue, second there are 4 clips not being used that I will switch out myself if I ever get this unit back. After countless emails and phone calls to immigrants you can't understand, I still don't have a computer for my business and I'm out $1300. My 10yr old desktop out performs both Asus desktops I had by a milestone. The customer service is terrible, they say they will forward my complaints to the repair team and also said someone would call me with resolution. Asking for a manager leads to lies as apparently they are all managers or supervisors! That phone call or email has never happened. At this point I think I might need a lawyer. Lost revenue, lost money, lost time, and a ton of stress on top of it all. What a joke!

After a bunch of convo with about 4 different Genius bar reps, they couldn't figure out a solution and I kid you not, told me that I would have to buy a new phone which infuriated me (the first two guys even told me it was a fixable hardware issue). Absolutely brilliant staff training guys. On another occasion my mom's 1 yr old iPhone had battery malfunction due to recall and Apple had given out battery changes for free for a certain period of time. I went with her to the store and was casually looking at devices when she came to me and told me the rep was telling her they wouldn't honour the battery change. This of course successfully rage baited me and I ended up having an extended convo with the Genius bar individual (even pulling up Apple's own corporate email from customer service). Eventually he acquiesced and changed the battery out but I shudder to think that my mom would've been simply taken advantage of had I not been there to set him straight. However, I do have to applaud the efficiency of the store when it comes to picking up purchases. I pre-ordered Airpod Pro 3's and when I arrived for first day pickup, there was a stanchioned line for pickup orders outside the store. The line moved really quickly though and I was in and out of the store in like 10-15 min. Just make sure you have your QR pickup code ready for the Genius bar rep to scan. Store was packed when I arrived as well but it didn't seem to be an issue.
