I'm a pretty particular dude when it comes to investing money, with that said... These guys are very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to picking out a bike. I went in with no knowledge of a bike and they took the time to speak to me about bikes and what bike would work with my body height and frame. I ended up purchasing an amazing Keirin Pro bike, it was actually the last bike they had in stock for sale, assembled it beautifully for me and showed me the bells and whistles of it. Ok so I called about 8 bicycle stores in queens, from woodside, to Astoria to sunnyside and finally called these guys. I wasn't looking to spend a lot of money and was looking for a good used bike, lo and behold, the Twin Bicycle bros hooked me up! A lady dropped off her used Schwin bike that was just the right height for me and it was in great condition for a great price! Eric, I think that's his name was actually working on the bike when I walked in after work yesterday checking the brakes and making sure everything was good to go. I took it for a spin two times, the second time after he adjusted the height of the seat. They were going to play tetris with trying to fit the bike in my corolla when I had mentioned I wanted a bike rack. Brian had a new bike rack that he wasn't sure would fit on my car, but the second miracle of the evening was that it did. He spent time adjusting and making sure it fit well on the back on my car and I was able to drive home with my new bike and bike rack, which I gotta say makes my car look pretty sexy. After reading the reviews of this shop I decided to go there to get a tune up on a bike that someone gave my wife. I rode it for a little but I could tell how beat up it was so I decided to go get a tune up. Even though there is a bike shop a few blocks from my house I decided to ride out to them and wow is all I can say! As soon as I walked in i was greeted like I was a long time customer. I told them what I noticed with the bike and I was told that I would be hooked up with the tune up good as new for $60. I left the bike there because they actually had a few bikes to work on. I picked it up today and my bike rides great! And the bar and seat were adjusted for my height! Everything I have read about Twin Bicycle is definitely true! read more

These guys provide a first class bicycle buying experience. I can looking for a bike as I need a better way to get in shape. I wasn't sure what type of bike I should and after checking some of the big chain stores I decided to go local and found these guys online. The store front doesn't stick out too much and the store isn't huge but that's not a bad thing. There are a row of bikes to your left as you walk in and the counter is in the back of the store. Brian and Eric were both super helpful and walked me through my purchase and my concerns. After one store visit and another phone call I decided on the type of bike I wanted. They had the bike I was looking for in stock so after adjusting the seat to my height, I rolled out with the bike about 15 minutes after I walked in the 2nd time. These guys will also order whatever you need accessory wise. I asked about a bike rack for my car and they said they just needed the make of the car and they could order what I needed. I bought a road hybrid bicycle from them a year ago and am very happy with the bicycle and the experience. I came here because I'd rather support small family owned businesses, which this has been for many years. If you haven't figured it out on your visit, it is fun to learn why it is named what it is. They are friendly and knowledgeable. I really liked the vibe, the energy, and customer service. It truly is a neighborhood bike shop, and the service feels very personable and genuine, unlike some of the oo-la-la retailers or chain shops/large generic shopping super centers. I told them my preferences, budget, and ride factors and the bicycle I bought from them I am very happy with - perfectly suitable for my needs. I stop by for small accessories here and there and they take care of me, putting a little oil here and there, performing small adjustments and fixes without me asking. Thanks to great reviews from other Yelpers, I brought my fold-up bike into this shop for the first time today to replace a blown tire. Brian was very friendly, knowledgeable & super helpful. He went the extra mile for me & fixed up my tire right away. In getting the bike out of my car, somehow I accidentally broke my pedal. So Brian tried his best to fix that too, and didn't even charge me. I plan to bring my bike to this shop from now on. New customer for life. These young guys are the real deal. What a great place! Took on my beat up bike that was tucked away in my garage for quite a few years and they brought it back to life in a few days. What I respect the most if their honesty. I just got back from this place. I have to say, this is one of the better bike repair shops I've been to on my side of Queens. Brian was super friendly and knowledgeable. He examined my bike thoroughly, and made all the proper recommendations. I had my brake pads changed, rack adjusted, and some general maintenance done -- all for $35! Very nice twin brothers but u took my kids bike in to get serviced and it was pricey - nearly $100 - and we were at the park for the test drive before I realized they hadn't put any air in the tires! I wish them the best but I won't go back. read more

I was really happy with my experience here. I bought a bike online with the front derailleur rubbing against the chain. I brought it in and it was ready on time the next day. They not only fixed the derailleur issue but gave it an overall tuneup. It is a cheap bike that rode really smooth once I got it back. I thought their price was very reasonable to tune my bike. Must say great bike repair shop in Queens. I met Brian today and he was fantastic. I went in for a basic tuneup on my Specialized Hardrock 29er and the experience couldn't have been more better. OMG !! what a great experience. This shop is great. I had them tune up and readjust my Specialized Carbon fiber S-Works high end mountain bike. The owner who attended me went over my bike in detail and got my bike in perfect working order, since it had some minor mechanical issues. And it was done at a great price. I went to this shop due to the great reviews here on Yelp and found that the reviews are right on target. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and knew all the specs on my bike from the top of his head. I was very very impressed. They know their stuff and have extensive background on high end exotic expensive bikes. The bike was returned in new condition. This is the best bike shop you can go to. I just got out of work on a beautiful day recently and wanted to get a ride in, when I noticed I was having trouble with my bicycle. I googled bike shops near Me figuring I would call to make an appointment for another day being it was so late, disappointed I would not get My bike fixed before the Sun set. Eric and his Brother Brian over at Twin Bike shop told me to come right over that they would even keep the shop open as long as needed to fix it that day. I have literally been coming to this shop since I learned how to ride a bike, about 19 years. It is a great family owned shop, once ran by the father and now the sons. I went in today for my two flat tires. Not only was my bike fixed in less than 10 minutes, they gave me a thoughrough inspection of my whole bike, a complete tune up and took care of all the little things I didn't even know were wrong, like adjusting my breaks. These guys really know their stuff and the best part is they don't try to screw you over or sell you something that you don't need. Heh, the earlier review reflects MY idealism about supporting a local business, but my experience here was negative. After trading in a high-end bicycle wheel for an adjustable stem, I discovered that it was the wrong-sized stem, and would require shims to fit my bike. Fair enough, I came back to see if Bryan could make this right and either order the right stem or let me use the credit for other items I needed. Instead of being apologetic and taking care of the customer, I was treated poorly and told, in effect, to take my business elsewhere, a rude and disrespectful way of doing business. No problem ... it's obvious that this is not a serious business anyway, it's totally dingy, dirty and disorganized, and the store's hours are basically unpredictable. Too bad too, as this neighborhood could really use a friendly, ethical, and professionally run bike shop.... and Twin Bicycle & Sporting Goods is NOT it. read more

Awesome service, THE BEST store in queens hands down. Been going here for yearsss. They really try to help you out whether you are purchasing a bike or the smallest things as in putting air in your tires. Other stores like grand ave bicycles and spokesman(biggest rip off) would not even acknowledge you, but these guys would go the extra mile just to make sure you are ready for your ride. Their father used to be a legend in this area and it seemed to have passed down to them. Best deals absolutely on bicycles, same bike they sell in their store for ($330) other stores like spokesman charge $440 for the same absolute bicycle which I don't understand, but I know where to go when I need to upgrade my bicycle or my parts. Thanks Twin! Oh and if you need a tune up go to them $60 bucks and they do way better job than other stores that charge 80-100. read more
