im fortunate enough to live nearby to have my bike serviced at Bill's. thank you Anthony for great service

Horrible experience, definitely recommend finding another bike shop. Don't waste your time here. The owner is straight up rude and doesn't deserve the business if he's providing disrespectful service. If he doesn't like you, he will mess with your bike and make it worse then when you came in with. read more

Great shop, friendly staff, had bike problem fixed in no time, and only 20 bucks! I definitely recommend this place to anyone!

Lots of not great reviews on here and I can understand why. I've had two positive experiences though. Stopped by here after buying a bike from another vendor. I needed to get reflectors and lights. The ones I got from Amazon broke immediately after trying to put them on. Stopped by and was given some at a reasonable price. They were busy so I put them on myself with their tools. Another customer in the shop also helped me. On another occasion, I needed to put air in my tires. I had never put air in a bike tire (only car tires) and over inflated. The tire exploded and there I was left embarrassed. They offered to, very quickly, put on a new tire and tube. It wasn't cheap, but it was done immediately. Note that both times things were done quickly and efficiently. If you're looking for some amazing customer service and/or hand-holding, this is def not the place for you. If you don't know what you want or need direction, this is probably not gonna be a helpful place. That said, I wouldn't suggest they're rude either, they're just busy. The shop also has more of an urban feel, so if that's something that's off-putting to you, it's better not to go. Overall, I've had good experience and dig the feel of the shop. It's not the cheapest around, but things get done here pretty quick and the vibe is good. read more

Not very friendly, 10 dollars for a single inner tube, and pretty unhelpful. If you feel like over paying for whatever you want and unfriendly employees who use 25 feet of social distancing, act very "busy" and make you feel like you're taking up their time. Two stars for having a inner tube in stock when I passed by, i guess? Don't come here. read more

i came in because i had an issue w the tire valve stem on the front wheel of my scooter. for the life of me i could not budge it back into its proper place so that it wouldn't scrape my fenders when it rotated. i showed tony my problem and he was able to fix it suuuper quick. he released some air in order to reposition the stem and re-inflated both tires free of charge. would be back again if i run into more trouble : ) read more

I get my bike tune ups and services here. Never had any problem. Only down side was I couldnt get my bike back same day, took several days to get it back post tune up because it was their busy season. But understandable. They had it back to me within their estimated time frame. read more

It's been quite a while since I rode my bike so this is the first bike shop I've gone to since I moved to Queens. I was very satisfied with this place. I walked in when it wasn't busy. The guy who helped me was very friendly. All I needed was both my intertubes to be replaced and to adjust my seat. I was able to sit down and wait for the work to be done. I watched tv and only waited a few minutes. He was super fast. This is why I don't just do it myself. Not my thing. It was nice, he didn't charge me for fixing the seat. The other work I thought might be a little overpriced but I'm happy to support a local bike shop. Probably could get cheaper on amazon but this was faster while supporting the community read more

Very awesome cyclery, lovely personnel and professional!! Recommend to the fullest 10/10

I was charged 40 bucks but only have 37 on me, the guy is very cool and kind! Definitely coming next time!

Great service! Easy to get to this friendly shop where all your cycling needs are taken care of.

I have been here on numerous occasions, and I always get a job done fast and correctly. Friendly service and Reasonable prices. Also one of the closest Bike Shops near me. The only bad thing I might say is not a huge selection of Bike Accessories in the store at all times, that being said, I usually just buy my Bike Accessories online! read more

I've been coming here for years. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. I really appreciate the local neighborhood feeling I get in this bike shop. Since getting my bike a few weeks ago, I've gone to the Bill's Cyclery twice. First time, I went to get some lights and a lock for my bike. Anthony was super helpful with helping me narrow down what I needed to stay within my price point. Second time I went in, I needed new padding for my bike helmet. Anthony quickly found some and gave it to me free of charge. Happy to support a local bike shop! read more

Rarely have I been completely happy with a tuneup and cleaning but gears working like clockwork precision now. But then I also needed a new cassette and chain. My 18 year old giant feels like new, no complaints they're totally pro even during a pandemic. read more

I had a great experience here! I had a flat on my folding bike; I walked up on a Tuesday afternoon and they fixed it within a half hour. I bought my first serious mountain bike from Bill's when they were on liberty avenue in ozone park. That was a 1996 Mongoose Rockadile SX. The guys built the bike up and provided awesome service and we rode together almost every Sunday! Those were awesome days. Now all this being said, if you want great service and excellent mechanics to work on your ride head to Bill's. Ask for Anthony. He knows me. read more

My husband dropped off my bike at closing on July 4th for a tune up and breaks to be fixed, he was told it would take 5 days. No call from them on the 9th so we stopped by on the 10th to get the bike. Still nothing done to it and we were told it would definitely be done by the end of the day on Monday the 13th. Again no call from them so my husband went today and walked the bike home. An hour later I took the bike out and the back wheel was getting stuck and basically wasn't working. I had to walk the bike back to them, explain what happened and was asked if we adjusted the handlebars which we didn't! They lowered the handle bars and the bike seems ok now, I will NEVER go back here again and would NEVER recommend this place. Unprofessional, unreliable shoddy work. read more

Nice people. Know what they are doing. I recommend to anyone who cares for their bike to stop here for maintenance and care.

This place sucks. Overpriced and they don't give a shit about the customers. The "good reviews" on this yelp page are just written by the people who work at the shop; look at the number of reviews they've written "1" or "3". Good job Bill. Way to fucking really get into forging. You can't even follow through enough to make a believable review! The laziness they show in making fake reviews is the same laziness they show when you go to their shop. When I go to a bike shop, I expect to get a f*cking blowjob right then and there. None of this "do it yourself give me some money" bullshit. If you have something you need done, do it somewhere else. Or better yet, go to Time's Up and do it yourself; cuz you'd do it yourself here anyways! read more

You definitely don't want to buy a bike from or bring your bike here for service. I bought my bike here in 2010 and have received nothing but horrible service since. I ride bikes as a commuter and on the weekends, but this place is only interested in sales. Sometimes they don't even know the correct price and ask me what do I pay for the part at another store. I have taken my bike here on several occasions for simple maintenance issues such as flat tires, brake replacement, and even wheel truing. Each time that I have had anything done, it was done incorrectly or not done properly. One time I had them replace a broken pedal on my bike only to find that my seat had been adjusted and some of the gear settings on my bike were also readjusted (without me asking for them) incorrectly. Then the mechanic was messing with my bell and other components on my bike. I tried to give this place another chance but, the last straw for this place was, when I went in there recently to purchase a tube and some chain oil and they had no interest in helping me. They were too busy watching TV in the back. Definitely SKIP this place in your search for a decent bike shop! read more

I purchased a bicycle here in April 2010 and had problems right from the start. Now let me start this off by saying I have been to this shop before, purchased bicycle(s)/parts from here and have had a pretty decent experience up until recently. So as the previous reviewer said there is a latino man there with the pitbull who is "hood"... Well when you are living in the hood you are going to get hood ass people to serve you and that is just a fact so thats no big deal. I purchased a bicycle (which was not cheap) and was told it would be ready to ride in about 1 1/2 hours. Since I heard it would not be that long I decided to stick around so I went across the street to Jolibee and took my time and ate a good long meal. I went back a little over an hour and a half later and when the dude saw me he told me he has not even started yet and he will call me if and when its ready that day. I was kind of bothered that he could not just tell me to come back tomorrow to get my bicycle. I was not mad that it took him a long time (because I am sure he is a busy person) but telling me a solid time frame and not holding true really sucks... especially since I could/would have rather spent my time doing better things.. So finally I get my bicycle and on my ride home on roosevelt I notice my front tire is not even centered with the handlebars...it was wayyyyy off. I get home to fix it and notice at least he tightened the bicycle's bolts properly..but wow.. I wont even be taking this back to have it fixed if something goes wrong with it.. even though i am covered for "one year" from the store I will take my Bicycle elsewhere to have work done.. read more

Aside from the very cool name, Bill's Cyclery also provides truly exceptional service. I don't know if I saw the same repairman as the last reviewer, but the person who helped me was one of the most honest and helpful guys I've met in ANY store in NYC, and especially in a business that seems to thrives off inexperienced customers' naivety. I went in with a flat tire. The repairman gave me the price upfront and double checked to make sure I was OK with it-- BEFORE he started any work. When I asked him how my tires were holding up, because the guys in my last neighborhood had been pressuring me to replace them to avoid flats in the future. He said it was unnecessary. What bike repairman says not to buy something because it's unnecessary? Then he told me if I caught a flat in the next few days/weeks, and he'd fix it for free. But, he said, if you ride over glass or something, you'll have to pay. Reasonable. When he replaced a missing screw on my bike rack without being asked, and greased open my lock, which had been rusted completely shut, he didn't charge me any extra. "Don't worry about it!" he said, "But if you get the chance, write me a good review." My roommate has also had great experiences at Bill's Cyclery. They may have had bad service in the past, but it seems like poor feedback has caused them to turn a corner. read more

So I understand a bike shop providing a service may be one totally experience from the other. I had no qualms despite the numerous bad experiences other Yelpers had. Anthony was quick to fix my tire and was pretty polite! read more

I've never been to a more unprofessional bike shop in my life. The management over the counter were completely rude and were just trying to make a quick buck. They were extremely uncooperative and did the bare minimum in order to sell a bike and pressured me into buying something that clearly wasn't for me and extremely subpar. If you don't want to get ripped off and your money essentially stolen, don't shop at this bike store! TL;DR: DON'T COME HERE read more

This is a bicycle shop and bike repair shop. They have new bicycles in the front and accessories and a huge repair shop in the back. My kid's bicycle had a flat tire and since I had gone to one of the other bike shops in the neighborhood before and left unsatisfied, I searched Yelp and found this one. Even though there weren't any reviews, I decided to give it a shot. I walked in and was greeted right away by a friendly young man who looked at my son's bike and said it would be ready in half an hour. I came back 30 minutes later, and sure enough the bike was ready to go. I was impressed with the place and the friendliness. I asked him how long the store had been there (since I assumed it had recently opened, having never noticed it before). He said the store had been there since 1929! read more
