Best Bike shop in NYC. I trust few people when it comes to working on my bike and Andres is definitely one I do trust. Talking with him while he worked on my bike, I got to know a little about his background and i thought i would share. Andres has a long history with bikes, over 30 years. Starting in Columbia building bike frames. Actually welding them from Columbus steel tubing (the best) he still has customers riding his bikes today. He also has relatives that raced in the Tour de France! Opening his own shop in astoria is the result of his passion for bikes and experience working for another bike shop for many years. His experience was immediately obvious when i brought in a bike i found in a dumpster. The painted decals were old and worn off from age, but he immediately identified the frame builder with a reminiscent smile. He has treated my my other bikes with great care and has offered great advice on equipment. So i write this review as a tip to his professionalism and great service. If you are looking for a bike shop that does good work, or a experience cyclist that can lead you in the right direction. Go see Andres! And you know the rules... Don't go when it's the busiest, on a Saturday afternoon. For personal service try Sunday morning or during the week!

Family owned business, friendly, bike enthusiasts. Knowledgeable staff, fixtures in the local and cycling community. Great selection of bikes, any size or style or brand you may need, and you can also customize based on your needs. If you need a tune up or repair they are very reasonable. I've been cycling in nyc for many years and always bring my bikes here before the season starts... commuters, roadies, you name it. And I know I can get stuff on online..... but I just can't resist and always walk away with some new accessory like gloves, shorts, water bottle etc. You are in good hands here.

The bike they helped me customize! Love it!

They charged me $5 for air without mentioning there was a bike pump outside that I could have used

When I comeback to pick it up they charged me $60. I took it back to the street and I couldn't go for one block. I got E7 error meaning the connection between the bike and the motor wasn't working. Immediately took it back. They didn't took any responsibility. He used as excuse that somebody it me a month ago which is ridiculous because the bike was working fine for a whole month after that. I took it to other bike shops and they told me the cable got damaged when the removed the wheel. The only solution was a $450 new motor +$150 labor. I comeback to him, he had me begging to help with something. He knows I use the bike to work and I desperately need a transportation. He gives me $200 and wish me luck which is nothing considering I already paid $60. I feel totally scammed and taken advantage of. Look in the pictures the before and after of their job and judge for yourself their "quality work"

I've been in car accidents, road in pouring rain, water, and mud. I've clean my bike on several occasions. But something told me that I should have an overhaul performed on my bike since I had put it through so much. Yup it took me 9 years to decide to do it. SMH. Since I live close to Conrad's and have taken other bikes that I've had to John at Conrad's, I figured why not just do the whole shebang. So John informed me that there was a crack in my carbon fiber fork. Which I was not expecting or wanting to hear. We all know that once carbon fiber is cracked, it's pretty much done. My heart broke hearing this bad news. He did give me options though. He said he would be willing to contact BMC to see if they had another fork to replace mine. But because my carbon fiber bike is 9 years old, they discontinued that particular model. Damn. Then he tried researching others bike dealers to find a fork comparable. Nada. He then told me he knew a guy that could rebuild my fork. And I agreed to have this guy build my fork. It took several weeks due to the work load because it's summer and everyone is riding. I just had to wait my turn. When I got my beautiful bike back, she was gliding everywhere I road her. It was as if I had bought a brand new BMC. And the appearance of my well cleaned and detailed bike was outstanding. I was so impressed with the quality and detailed service John and the guy who repaired my fork had done. I've never been so pleased by anyone inspecting and cleaning my bike ever. Now, I wasn't anticipating the cost of everything, but it was worth the wait and cost because I truly have a "new" bike. They did right by me and my bike. What outstanding and fantastic service. Five stars hands down. Conrad's is the best.
