This bar is located in a pretty busy area, but the bar wasn't too busy. It had a moderate number of people and I was able to get a drink quickly. Drinks are very well priced, and tasty too! Paloma for $7? Not bad. The atmosphere is kind of like a gypsy dive bar. Plenty of hipsters frequent here, based on my visit. My friends and I sat towards the back where there are some lounge chairs. It was VERY DARK. There is also an outside patio towards the back but it was very crowded, so we didn't get to check it out. Our primary reason for this visit was to see some live music, but the performer was scheduled to go at 10 PM. We felt like that was way too late, and there were no opening acts. Not sure if this is a regular thing, but maybe it's to cater the younger crowd? I don't know about y'all but if a concert starts at 10 PM I'm not coming. Overall, this wasn't a bad spot to check out in Deep Ellum. I wouldn't mind coming here again for a drink. read more

I went here for a friend's birthday. We got there around 10. It was not so happening and the music playing wasn't jazz. The live band started around 10:30. The decor seemed ok. It was dark, the couches were comfortable, the cocktail I ordered was great. We had a great waiter. The restroom was clean. They have a HUGE patio! It was already packed. This place makes me want to stand up and do a little dance. Having just become an official resident of the DE, it was, of course, my civic duty to hit every bar and figure out which one is my favorite. Turns out that's a pretty difficult decision since all the bars on Elm are awesome, but this one is super high on the list. One of the biggest benefits of this place is that they play football games with sound. I know - that sounds like it should be a given, but strangely, it's not. In fact, pretty much every place in DE will have a Cowboys game playing in the background and music playing through the speakers. It's technically a Saints bar, so if a Saints game is on, that's what's playing. And there are a good amount of loyal Saints fans you can root and cheer with. They have a second TV outside, so if you're looking for a different game, you can brave the elements and watch it out there. There were heaters, but they didn't work very well, so maybe something to invest in for the cold months because... ...the patio is awesome! I love a good patio. And I love a dog-friendly patio. This is both. The vibe here is very chill. They have good beers on tap (lots of local!), a few tasty ones that rotate and a huge selection of bottles, along with all the liquor you can destroy your liver with. I like the space and ambiance of this new addition to DE! The bartenders look like they take mixing drinks very seriously, and aren't just around to pour your well drinks into a plastic cup. Nope, I saw them muddling, shaking, grinding, spritzing, and zesting various ingredients into people's drinks. Although that is not to say that they aren't happy to pour you a nice well liquor during happy hour, which are $4. There is a bit of confusion as to when happy hour ends, whether it is 7 pm or 8 pm. The patio here is very nice as well. It has a great shaded area and some patio tables in an enclosed courtyard. Remember this place for your next after work drink! read more

My absolute favorite bar in Deep Ellum! Their patio is quaint yet huge considering the area/layouts in Deep Ellum. They have live music almost every night - or so it seems. The women's restroom is always stocked with hairspray, mints, etc. - excellent customer service. If you're obsessed with Deep Eddy Grapefruit Vodka, like me, get the Ruby Twilite! I've tried just about every cocktail I've ever seen which includes Deep Eddy Grapefruit and theirs wins, hands down! They also have a great selection of local beers and their frozen coffee is bomb. I almost regret leaving this review and telling you about how amazing they are because Twilite Lounge is one of Deep Ellum's best kept secrets! read more

I'm very fond of Deep Ellum--mostly because it brings back so many awesome memories of being 18 years-old and "cruising" Deep Ellum back in it's prime. I know, the construction on Elm is a drag, but when you have a gem like Twilite, it's worth the momentary pain. We visited on 4th of July. No kidding, the entire space is an experience. From the decor, to the drinks, to the patio, to the staff - not a step was missed in the concept of this place. The icing on the cake was the band, The Free Loaders. I'm a live music junky, so their jazz, swing raised Twilite to another level. Not only were the band members performing on top of the bars at times, but they also chilled in the patio in between their sets to talk to the guests. Bravo, Twilite! I'm glad to see the rising of Deep Ellum - especially if you are setting the standard. read more

Both of my treks to the Twilite Lounge have been to see a local jazz act. I was so happy to see that this location, which used to house Insomnia (my fave coffee house when I was 15) many years back, was finally occupied and being used well. The layout of the place is pretty nice for a music venue/bar. There are booths and comfy chairs to sit it (though sometimes not enough! on busy nights!), and the bar is opposite that, allowing people in the middle to move from one end of the bar to another. There is also an outdoor seating area that is not only spacious, but attractively lit and ambient. The vibe of the place is pretty nice, as well. The bartenders are friendly, and the crowds are, too. Both times I have gone, I have met new and interesting people to chat with. The acts booked there are appropriate for the venue (usually chill and laid-back), and I really have enjoyed both shows I have gone to see there. I wish there were more seating options during their shows, but overall, I like Twilite Lounge and I plan on returning regularly. read more

A new bar in Deep Ellum, yes please. I don't think i've ever been more excited to step into a bar. Once i was in i could tell i would be visiting more often. The open dimly lit floor space made its way to booths that lined the walls. Small bar as you walked in was getting after making some great cocktails and spitting them out fast! I really wish i would have check out the bands name playing that night, but they gave the air an old school feel, which complimented the place just right. Even with all of this i was in a t shirt and flip flops and couldn't have felt more in the right place. Maybe that's just the feel of Deep Ellum coming through the doors. I do wish they would put a few more booths in the middle of the room, but maybe some dancing goes on? who knows Thinking i had found another that is a must go to in Deep Ellum it didn't stop there. Once i entered through to the back patio i knew i was hooked. Open space with plenty of tables and staff just running around getting drink orders. A perfect place to take a break from music and enjoy the night air. I could not have been happier. I think this place really offers a lot to people who like a little bit of everything. I wasn't here long, just one nightcap with friends after dinner, but it's a really cool spot. The best part is the outdoor patio. Its all the way in the back and guarded by large walls and plants. It's a great space to talk one on one with someone, or even catch a glimpse of a game via the outdoor tv. I was introduced to Tito's vodka here which sang in my vodka tonic. I tend to stick with beer and wine so it was a treat to find a liquor that hit the spot. There is also a late night donut place next door who apparently makes a bacon grilled cheese using a glazed donut for the bread that is a Deep Ellum religious experience. The line was a mile long and we were still full from dinner but I WILL be back to try that sandwich! Great New Orleans style bar. Very dark and fits perfectly into the deep Ellum family of bars. Patio is great considering you're in Deep Ellum which is a rarity. The bar is well stocked and decently priced. Been here on various occasions, one for a baseball talk which happened to be free and someone paid to have an open bar, salute to that gentleman. Also been here for comedy night again it's free and it was hilarious, highly recommended. It was a great line up of about 5-6 comedians. Took me long enough to get down here for a night out, but for some reason I've had an aversion to Deep Ellum for a looooong time. The last time I was down there, the night ended when a bar brawl broke out right behind us! Good Times! NOT! However, that was over 10 years ago. Since then, things have changed, and I started listening to The Ticket. Which leads us to my visit to the Twilite. Being a Ticket Dork, I got to hear Danny talk about this cool new bar he was opening up with a partner. It sounded so cool that I actually volunteered to go down to Deep Ellum and meet a friend there. First off, the place is REALLY easy to find, and parking wasn't the nightmare that I remember from 10 years ago (but it was a Wednesday). The place is dark, but not cramped. Kinda divey, but nicer than it looks on the surface. And they've got a surprisingly cool little patio. We bellied up to the bar and ordered our first round - beer for me and a whiskey sour for my friend. I tried the whiskey sour just for the hell of it, and... DAMN it was good! I've always hated that drink, but I may have to start making them like you get 'em at the Twilite. Thumbs up. We stayed for a couple of drinks, then ambled down the street for some Serious Pizza (and some very comical snippets of a wheels-off cell phone conversation). After pizza, we went right back to the Twilite to finish off the night back out on the patio. I saw Danny sitting over in the corner, so I had to go be a dork and shake the man's hand. While out back many more folks seem to arrive just after 3 pm. Totally dog friendly! Think I met 5 dogs and that was INSIDE! LOL! I was in big D for the Toadies show. After sitting down with my 1st beer I heard a song from their new album. When getting my next beer ANOTHER Toadies song from 1995 played! And 15 mins later yet another! This was definitely one of my favorite places to visit whilst I was in Dallas. This is the type of place I can jive with and wish was in OKC. The patio was absolutely fantastic! The whole layout of the place is really cool, think NOLA. really quaint backyard patio area that's perfect for those happy hour drinks. Def different for deep Ellum, but def in a good way. This place is awesome! I went on a Thursday night and it wasn't very crowded. There are booths inside along one wall as well as bar seating, and then a patio outside with tables and chairs. They played good music but wasn't too loud so you could still enjoy conversation. The frozen irish coffee is amazing. Dimly lit (which I prefer at a bar) and overall great vibes. My favorite bar in Deep Ellum. A great easy-going place to have a few drinks and chill with some friends. The drinks are fairly cheap, and the bartenders are great. I don't drink coffee, but my friends that do all love the frozen coffee. It has a great little patio out back for when the weather is nice. Also has a few couches in addition to the normal booths you would see in a bar. Not a huge place, but I like it that way. You'll see a lot of the same people if you keep coming back, as it seems like this place has a loyal following of regulars (myself included). So don't be surprised when the bartenders start greeting people by name as soon as they walk in. It can get busy late at night and on the weekends, but I'm usually there more for a couple drinks after work. There's usually enough people there to talk to random interesting folks, but not so many that it's packed. That's how I usually like it. My wife says it has one of the nicest women's bathrooms she's ever seen in a bar. So it's got that going for it I suppose. They don't serve food, but it's Deep Ellum so there is tons of stuff within walking distance. I just wish they had some more room for additional taps. read more
