The menu didn't indicate that the shrimp tacos costed $2 extra (this is indicated on their regular menu) so it came as a surprise on the bill. The restaurant is located downstairs and the space was larger than I expected it to be. They have a corner with a stage and looks like they have live music sometimes. Since we came when they just opened for the night and were their first customers/only ones there, there was only 1 worker who was doing stuff around the restaurant and was hard to get his attention sometimes. Location is convenient - just a couple mins walk from the subway station.

The restaurant is a lot more spacious than its outside would hint at. Their happy hour menu knocks a couple dollars off some of their regular menu items. I decided to go with the shrimp tacos and they were surprisingly good - I was expecting an average taco but it was yummy and I'd actually order it again. My one qualm is that on the happy hour menu, it doesn't indicate it, but the shrimp tacos are actually $2 more. I'd love to revisit on a night when they have a live music performance, to try more items off the happy hour menu.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5…read moreAmbiance 5/5 Food: I ordered the Tagliatette alla bolognese & hubby had a charcuterie board. For dessert we had the nutella pizza. I also ordered some take out: a funghi pizza, bruschetta & papardelle al boscaiola. Everything was so delicious! Sip is one of our favourite restaurants because the food is always good & it's not overpriced. The Tagliatelle was perfectly cooked and the bolognese sauce so yummy. Hubby enjoyed the charcuterie board. And the nutella pizza is a little messy but still delicious. At home I shared the bruschetta with hubby. I don't know how they get the pizza crust so thin. However they make their pizza I still think it's the best pizza I've ever had in Toronto. Service: We had a lovely lady serviing us. She has always been there when we have come in the past. She is so efficient & graceful too. The dishes came out quickly and we were soon eating. We came on Valentine's Day for lunch & it wasn't busy. Ambiance: The restaurant was decorated for Valentine's Day with red balloons. It was pretty but if you're going to the bathroom (which is downstairs) I had to duck so the ribbons didn't get in my hair. The restaurant has a cozy & comfortable vibe. But at the same time it's classy. The lower level can be used as a private room. I've seen families holding celebrations down there. The washrooms are clean & well maintained. I would definitely come back here again for a meal. It's too bad it's on a side street. It would probably get more attention. I think the food at Sip is better than Grazie actually, which is also nearby.

The food is reliably tasty, with plenty of great salad options, and their panna cotta deserves a special mention: I've tried this dessert in many restaurants, and Sip's version is hands‑down the best. Over time I've worked my way through the entire menu and loved every dish. Highly recommend.

They gave me the entire back end of the bar + a booth, let us decorate the area, and gave us all the materials we needed for our cake. Our server was amazing. She was so nice and tended to all 30+ of us. She was constantly around and was always refilling the waters and cleaning the tables. The tacos, nachos, and the cocktail drinks are great. Would highly recommend this bar for a special day. My entire party had a great time here.

The bad: ordered four cocktails, one of which I do not recommend - peardise lost. Tasted more like cough medicine gone bad The meh: the rest of the drinks were pretty average. We ordered Sunken Island (tasted like piña colada, Nijikai (good infusion of Japanese drinks together), and proper pimms cup (easy to drink, exactly as the menu describes it). Also ordered the LC nachos, large amount that was easy to share amongst our group of 6. What to know: they have food from la carnita (whom are attached upstairs). If you have a big group, best to book ahead because table is limited. Overall not a bad experience. Great bar to go to if you are around the area :)

However the service is good, they also have a bar to spicd things up. They have cookies and other treats. Theres a cute patio, and many sitting areas upstairs and downstairs and lots of privacy. We arrived around 3:30 pm when it was fairly occupied; they feature 'Happy Sour Hour' from 4 to 7 pm, during which all of their sour beers are reduced in price to $7.00. We ordered and shared two beers, the first a lager, the second a sour beer in order to take advantage of the discounted price. The venue is long and narrow, with two floors and a distinctive looking back patio. Our service was fairly prompt and they are located in a quite convenient location, literally across the street from the subway and the historic, flagship LCBO location. So I can recommend a visit if you're in the area and desire a drink and/or snack.

This review is based on free-flowing appetizers and drinks, which, as we all know, is the best way to experience anything. The decor is standard Firkin pub meaning cozy, British, and featuring the signature Union Jack couch that I unfortunately neglected to take a picture of as there was an event photographer. For a British-style pub, my only real complaint is the cider selection. As someone who isn't a Strongbow fan, I was hoping for a nice local option, but the choices were slim. I happily pivoted to a perfectly pleasant Malbec, so I was okay in the end. The service was surprisingly excellent. Our party had about 30 people, and although there was another large group there at the same time, the staff was on it. Our waitresses kept us well-stocked with appetizers and managed to get drink orders filled with impressive speed. For those taking transit, it's incredibly accessible and just a five-minute walk from Rosedale station on Line 1. I can't speak to the parking situation as I didn't drive, but I didn't notice any garages on my walk from the subway. I'll have to come back on my own dime to give a more "authentic" review, but based on this experience, they know how to handle a crowd.
