Everything seemed like it was a challenge for him or he hates his job or he thinks his shift should end 30 minutes before closing time. The food was fine. Nothing super. Unfortunately, our family had a pretty bad experience here. First, they couldn't find a menu for us to look over when we asked the hostesses... not a good start. Was in Wabash visiting family and celebrating my Dads birthday. Twenty was recommended to us, so we decided to have the birthday party at this great little restaurant inside the Charley Creek Inn (which also happened to be where we were staying). They have a diverse menu and the prices were very reasonable. The service was also top notch as our party of 12 was all taken care of with the highest standards. We also brought in a cheese plate and some wine from the little shop next door which is also located inside the hotel and highly recommended. We enjoyed our dinner so much that we had breakfast the following morning there as well. (If you stay at the hotel you receive a $10 voucher) All and all, a very pleasant experience in this great small town. Will definitly be back next time I am in town! read more

This is a review for the bar area late night only. It was really good and the drinks were well-priced. They had some nice drinks you can't get everywhere. (For instance, I enjoy Tito's vodka.) All of the servers were kind and even remembered us when we went back down a second time. There was also, randomly, a banjo-strumming man in a cowboyish outfit. So very random, but he was there both nights so he must be a fixture. Nice spot for a late night drink. read more

The waitress we had gets a 6/10; she was relatively friendly and attentive, but didn't offer any suggestions for drinks or anything of that nature. My friend and I got the spinach artichoke dip, the BALT turkey wrap, and tried the BBQ bacon sliders to share. The spinach artichoke dip was pretty bad; the spinach was basically burnt, and there was too much cream cheese. The sliders were very dry and the bacon that was on them was really over cooked. This is fantastic dining. I eat here often though parking is EXTREMELY hard to come by as a result of their fine food. Beautiful environment with lovely outdoor seating. Great sounds too. Open lunch through the evening everyday. Be prepared to walk a great distant to the restaurant and it will be worth it. They also have a nice limousine drop off area but no valet parking. read more

I had such high hopes for this place. My girlfriend and I were looking online for a place to eat lunch and found Twenty. On the surface, it appeared to be a great place to get a good meal; however, in practice, Twenty only served to disappoint. We walked into the Charley Creek Inn for a late lunch - around 1:30 or so on a Sunday. We figured that the restaurant might be somewhat busy at this time. Perhaps we would catch the tail end of the church-going crowd. Unfortunately, the restaurant was deserted. This should have tipped me off that we would leave disappointed, but we pressed onward. For our appetizer, I ordered the cream of asparagus soup, while my girlfriend ordered a Caesar Salad. My soup was all right, though it could have used a pinch of salt. My girlfriend's salad, on the other hand, was too finely chopped, over-dressed, came with a side of a cracker made of burnt Parmesan cheese, and came with croutons that were as hard as bricks. This should have been our second bad sign about this place, that they cannot make a simple salad properly. As for entrees, I ordered the Chicken Carbonara pasta, while my girlfriend got their Angus Burger. My pasta tasted bland and came in a rather small portion. My girlfriend's burger was extremely greasy to the point where the grease had soaked through the bun before it ever made its way to the table. Furthermore, the burger was cooked well-done although my girlfriend had ordered it medium-well. Finally, the fries that came with the meal were clearly frozen, crinkle-cut french fries, likely from GFS food supply company. So the entrees and appetizer weren't great. My girlfriend and I stuck around to see if Twenty could redeem itself during dessert. As it turns out, we should have deserted. I ordered the Creme Brulee, while she ordered the Molten Chocolate Cake. Let's start with the Brulee. I have eaten many a Creme Brulee in my life, and I know how one should be prepared. The top should be hard, caramelized, and crunchy (which it was, to their credit), but the custard underneath should be warm and just a bit runny (it was cold and jelly-like). It wasn't, and it severely took away from the quality of my dessert. The Molten Chocolate Cake, on the other hand, was an unqualified disaster. In fact, Twenty seems to have forgotten the first and third words entirely, focusing far too much on the Chocolate, as evidenced by what seemed like a gallon of chocolate syrup on the plate. The cake itself was spongy and bland, and there was no molten chocolate at all. The only thing even close to it was a thin disk of solid chocolate - it may have been molten at one time, but solidified after an entire scoop of ice cream was dumped on top of it. More likely, however, is that the cake in question was microwaved before being served and the restaurant threw the disk of chocolate on top. To top things off, the service my girlfriend and I received was entirely subpar. Remember how I said that the dining room was completely empty? It took us a good 20 minutes to get our appetizers (a salad and a bowl of soup), and the entrees took even longer than that - I neither know nor wish to know why it took one waitress that long to serve one table. Furthermore, upon explaining our difficulties with the desserts, our waitress claimed that the Molten Chocolate Cake was served that way. Now this brings up 2 distinct possibilities. Either our waitress has no idea what Molten Chocolate Cake is, which is bad, or the restaurant legitimately believes that they served Molten Chocolate Cake, which is arguably worse. As for the bill, I was charged in the neighborhood of $40 - $20 per plate. I do not profess to being a picky eater, nor do I believe myself to be a cheapskate. However, I do not find it acceptable to pay $20 per person for reheated french fries, a greasy, overcooked burger, bland pasta, bland soup, and desserts that fail on every level. I would much rather take that $40 to the grocery store and cook this meal myself (which I could do and have it actually taste like something). In summation, Twenty gave me and my girlfriend poor food and poor service at a high price, possibly without even realizing the food's shortcomings. I will not dine here again of my own volition, and I urge you to spend your money elsewhere. read more

You win some, and well ... dinner before a concert turned out to be a mixed bag. We carried our wine from the fantastic wine-tasting experience down the hall (an absolute must "do) so we were all set. The shared crab dip was warm and could have been a little hotter; the garlic was a bit much and the soda/water crackers were disappointing. Toast points or Naan bread would have been great. Her salmon with sweet potato buds and kale was magnificent - crusted top, oozing with flavor and moist - just perfect. Our side salads were just that, "side" but the home made blue cheese dressing made up for it. My lobster ravioli was quite a disappointment. The pasta packets were tough, dry, and the lobster inside was crunchy, not very tasty and bland. The saving grace were the wonderful mushrooms swimming in a quasi-Alfredo sauce, not the tomato sauce I had expected. Service was slow, had to flag down our server several times. But read on for my breakfast review. Breakfast the next day was amazing. We each had a skillet 2-egg dish with our selected items, tomatoes, potato chunks, shrooms, spinach, feta, on and on. Toast was perfect, as was the coffee. Our server was terrific, friendly, quick, couldn't have been better. Lovely setting by the window in the sun. And when you stay at the hotel (Charley Creek Inn) you get a $15 coupon. Our egg dishes were $7 each -beverages were extra - the total bill was about $4 - just a great experience. read more

We were the only people in the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. It took 45 min to get our food. My 4 year old and 6 year old were bouncing off the walls. If we weren't starving, we would've walked out. My kids ordered the baked linguini...I've had better at Fazolis for half the cost. I had the Saigon Salmon salad that was supposed to come with strawberry vinaigrette dressing . When it came out it had honey mustard dressing and missing half the ingredients stated on the menu like it was no big deal. We ate the food but I could've fed my family tastier food at Mickey D's for a fraction of the cost. Won't be back. read more

Had a party of 8 dinner here and it was amazing! Good wine list with reasonable prices, great service and yummy food. The Bleu Ice salad was great and the breaded pork chops were to die for! Chef's Apple, white cheddar mashed potatoes were good as were the parsnips and carrots. Smoked pork tenderloin was good, but a little dry. Other folks at the table also really enjoyed the filet and salmon. Topped it off with hazelnut and Irish coffee and we were happy! Such a treat to find in Wabash! read more

We had dinner here last night. We started with the blackened ahi tuna, it was simply amazing. I never thought I would see that in Wabash. The salad was pretty standard and the prime rib stew was very good. My main course was the lobster Mac and cheese. It was really good, large portion. If thee was anything wrong it had a few too many breadcrumbs scattered on top. My wife had the filet mignon. As an earlier reviewer said, they don't know how to cook steak there. She ordered rare, and got it medium well. Not enough heat on the grill their using. The rolls they brought out were great and they have a cinnamon honey butter with it that was awesome. Our server was Debbie and she did a great job with just the right amount of attention. We will return on our next trip to Wabash, without ordering the steak. read more

I was driving through town on IN-13, with little intention of stopping. However, I love old architecture and driving through downtown Wabash compelled me to stop. I walked around a bit and realized that I was hungry so I looked at what restaurants were in the area. Twenty was open so I walked in. I mentioned to the host that I was just driving through town and by the time I had sat down, he had my drink order on the table and some ice water. The restaurant is beautiful, the hotel restoration as well; the music in the restaurant was period appropriate (1920's), catchy, and perfect volume. The staff was tremendously attentive; the waitress went out of her way to answer my questions about Wabash. The food was delicious! I ordered a pork tenderloin sandwich, breaded (although there was a grilled option), with a side of sweet potato fries. The sandwich was perfect (the meat was lightly breaded, perfectly golden, no excess grease, no gristle), the bun was toasted, the vegetables fresh, the cucumber slices crispy. Either the sandwich or the fries (which came sprinkled with brown sugar!) came with a wonderful sauce. I am not sure what was in it but there might have been mustard, horseradish, and paprika in it. I dipped everything in it. At any rate, if I ever have another opportunity to drive from southern Indiana to Michigan, I will definitely be taking the longer scenic route through Wabash just so I can eat here again. read more

I've eaten at Twenty dozens of times. The only ding is the service is sometimes slow and uneven from visit to visit, but I think that's more of a function of the workforce available vs a ding on the restaurant. The food is always good, and management is awesome and proactive when an issue arises. I've eaten all three meals there in a day before so I'd say it's ok ;) read more

Pathetic excuse for Easter brunch buffet. We were there in the middle of it and after an hour there were still items that hadn't been refilled (and empty when we got there). Took forever just to get a drink order. Small wonder service was bad since gratuity was already built in to the WAY-overpriced prix fixe. Something that looked like it wanted to be eggs Benedict (but no sauce), dry biscuits (which I was happy I avoided when I saw a kitchen person putting more in with her bare hands), overly seasoned and undercooked green beans, dried out cobbler and bread pudding, sickly looking chicken. I grew up around Wabash. It has not been the kind of town that I would associate with having good restaurants. I was very surprised by Twenty. It's a beautiful little restaurant with pretty darn good food. The salmon that I had was cooked perfectly. My mom and sister both really enjoyed their lunches also but the real tasty treat was the tiramisu for dessert. It was not listed on the menu but we asked anyway. It happened to be the chef's special dessert for the day. I will definitely be going back and would also like to try a few of the other restaurants nearby. Downtown Wabash is being revitalized and is not the same as I remember from childhood. It is definitely better. read more

The quality of food served at Twenty has certainly taken a downhill dive! My husband and I have been going to Twenty for years and always enjoyed our meals. Now not so much, if you loved the seared tuna it is now a disappointment. My last meal, the ravioli with beef short ribs was at best mediocre, the short ribs had little flavor and the dish was served lukewarm. If this is the caliber of food the new chef is serving then he needs to go back to culinary school. Hats off to the great bartenders and servers however they are the best ever. read more

Had a late lunch in mid-week with family, including a toddler. Found this to be a terrific restaurant and the wait staff was exceptionally attentive and friendly. We had pizza, tuna melt and French dip wrap. Everything was delicious. And the sweet potato fries were especially good. Will definitely come here again. read more

We have had good meals there in the past, but last night the service was poor and the food worse. Wife has Mahi and said it was just ok. Myself and 2 other guys all had special, which was seared flank steak on bed of garlic mashed. The meat was so tough you couldn't hardly cut it and each bite took forever to chew up. To their credit, manager comped the 3 meals. Very disappointing. Will be hard pressed to go back anytime soon read more
