I chose all the red dry wines to try because that has always been my preference. I have tried some pretty good red dessert wine though. After the tasting we bought a few bottles of wine and some snacks that they sold there and sat and chit-chatted. The sommelier was very friendly and informative. The owner came in with his dog who was the hi-light of the visit. It is a beautiful building inside and out. The view is beautiful. The wine was delicious. They had packages of cheese and jerky in the refrigerator that were very good. The prices were affordable. Everyone was so friendly. Everything was clean, including the restroom. The decor was very nice. There was a huge map of the world on the wall where people could stick a in pin of where they came from. I stuck one in for my birthplace. It looks like people from all over the world have visited this winery. The parking lot was a little small, but there weren't very many customers there that day, so we easily found a spot. I will definitely try to get back here someday.

What I really like about Whyte Horse is that it doesn't feel stale. The menu and decorations change, which keeps the place fresh, fun, and interesting. The staff is also incredibly friendly and welcoming. I think you can probably tell I'm a fan after just one visit. It's relaxing, fun, eclectic, tasty, dog-friendly (outdoor only), and just an all-around great place to spend an afternoon. We'll definitely be back.

I asked for a couple of the driest reds, but then also threw in a Traminette and Riesling, which are semi-dry. I really liked the semi-dry wines, which I never go for in real life, but I'm glad I tried. The dry wines (there were only two options) were still a little too sweet for me, but that's Indiana wine for you. If you lean toward sweet wines, you will like the majority of the wines at Wildcat Creek Winery. This is not really a place to eat and enjoy wine, although you can find some packaged hunks of cheese and whole summer sausages in the fridge. It's more like a place to enjoy a nice glass or bottle of wine, and then grab some charcuterie fixin's on the way out, if you want to.

Here's what they offer: Kayak and Canoe Rentals: They've mapped out and provide maps for paddles varying from 2 to 6.5 hours. The shuttle service makes the logistics of spending time on the water easy. Ice Cream Parlor: This section is small but offers some of the best ice cream I've been served in Indiana. Our most recent visit we enjoyed Kentucky Praline Pecan, Florida Orange Sherbet and Strawberry Cheesecake varieties. They rotate flavors but have enough variety I've always found something tempting. Wine Room and Craft Beer: The tasting room is beautiful but we honestly haven't tried this yet. At the moment the only food they have daily to go with the drinks is nachos. However, they have been offering food with live music as outlined on their Facebook page and website. Event Space: The back portion of the property has been made into an event space with tables under cover in another out-building. My mom's high school reunion is scheduled to take place here.
