My husband took my brand new 2017 Rocky Ridge Silverado to Twelvolt to have a light bar installed a month ago. Brett says his work is guaranteed, tells us to "check out his reviews, that are by real people."
Nothing but problems have ensued since the day the bar was mounted onto my truck.
Installed June 2nd.
The brackets rubbed on the doors, causing paint to chip all the way down to bare metal.
June 3rd: Brett "fixed" it by adjusting the doors.
June 7th: I have a leak thru the chewed up hole drilled in my roof. Brett says "Give me 45 mins I'll fix it, guaranteed." 1.5 hours later, it's "fixed."
My husband is only home from Afghanistan for 30 days at a time. Instead of spending time with our son before he is due to leave in a few days, we are sitting in Brett's shop waiting on my truck.
He didn't bother with the hole he was shown. He thinks the leak is in the doors. He decides to shave the brackets down, while doing so, he chips the paint on the truck.
After this "fix" and a day of rain, I have literally caught 2 full cups of water (measured) that has come in thru the hole in the roof. The 2 cups doesn't include what's leaked out onto my carpet. It's soaked thru to my headliner, inside my dash.
Did I mention this is a brand new $60,000 truck?
I text Brett saying I have had enough. I want this light bar removed, refunded & the holes fixed. I will have 7 holes in my truck to worry about when that light comes off. He says he'll just plug the holes to fix it, if he removes the light. But he's still INSISTING I let him "fix" the leak. He CAN do it, he says. He GUARANTEES it. Nevermind you that *I* am the one who found the leak. Not him. He also tries to blame my husband on his plug failing in the roof, stating that my husband says he pulled it up. He never touched it.
June 20th: Stupidly, I have gone back & let him "fix" it. I go to pick up the truck, it has NEW brackets on it. This time with 2 new holes in each side of the truck. Making a total of 11 holes. Which was not approved by me nor discussed. He just mounted them on there because he decided that he wasn't happy with the originals being shaved down like that. (Let's not forget, he sent it home that way with me the second time I went back and he wasn't concerned then)
Plus, the paint he chipped on the truck wasn't properly fixed. He claims it didn't dry after he took it to his paint guy and when the doors were shut, it messed it up again.
The chewed up hole has (supposedly) been filed down and fixed (he did NOT send pictures of the new hole as requested by my husband so who is to say it's really fixed?). He has also put quite a bit of lexel around the plug. Which I can see because it's a mess on the exterior.
I asked him how this even happens. He says "ma'am, I let my assistant drill that hole and I did not check it."
He cuts me a check so it'll help repair the paint that he screwed up. Also for the hassle of dealing with his poor job on the truck. So I leave hoping like crazy I'll have no more issues except the fact that I have bare metal showing worse and worse each time the doors are shut and rubbing on the brackets. I have to slam the doors hard to make them shut properly.
June 26th: I have water dripping through my dash again. After a night of rain, I check the same hole on the roof and sure enough the shoddy thick lexel he put in the hole has worn out and I can see the hole under the rubber plug again.
I text Brett telling him I want the light bar off and I ask him to pay for a fabrication shop to fix the 11 holes I now have in my truck instead of the original 7. Because let's face it, this NEVER should have happened and a rubber plug is NOT acceptable.
He refuses. Stating (& I quote his exact text message) "If I remove that led bar and associated hardware it's yours Jo. We've bent over backwards with this truck and have been more than accommodating."
More than accommodating? Every single piece of damage to my brand new truck has been DUE TO THE WORK DONE BY BRETT at Twelvolt. I didn't go home and start picking at things. I drove the truck to and from where I needed to go. I didn't drive recklessly in a way to make his work come undone. Each time it rained, more water leaked into my truck behind the dash, on my carpet and my headliner.
It was NOT more than accommodating, it was only right that he fix his mistakes.
And now, I'm left with a $60,000 truck with 11 holes in it caused by his work that he GUARANTEED. He expects me to pay for the damages out of MY pocket and I will also have legal fees with my attorney over this fiasco.
In no way, shape or form is this good business nor am I a satisfied customer. read more
