Stewart Lighting , we brought a light back to the store, because our contractor stated that it did not work. We paid 475.00 for it. Stewart charged us a $150.00 restocking fee, told us that it worked fine and then sold it to an employee. This is bad business, @150.00 is a lot of money to charge a customer, that returned the light in good faith, because it did not work( but I guess the customer is never right) We paid for the pole attached also, an was given bad advise, because the one we had worked just fine for any light. Shame on you Stewart lighting and Nita for your behavior certaining this return. There was a reason your store was empty of customers. From first entering Stewart Lighting, I was helped immediately, Josh helped me pick out all new fixtures for our home. They have an amazing selection in the store and their catalogue. I showed him pictures of our current fixtures and he gave suggestions on sizes of new fixtures for the space while also keeping budget in mind. I ordered most of our fixtures during the holiday season which meant there were some shipping delays, but he kept me up to date with the timeline for installation throughout the entire process. Even after install, we wanted to add a dimer in our dining room and he helped us set up that as well within a mater of minutes. They truly care about customer service (not to mention Covid precautions were all taken seriously which is important to my husband and I who are healthcare workers). I shopped at another local and well known place in the area and wasn't acknowledged when I entered or even after 15 minutes of wandering around. I worked with Steve, one of the owners of Stewart lighting, on a huge and complicated full rennovation of our mid-century style home. The rennovation is almost complete and I am thrilled to say that every last light that Stewart Lighting selected for our home is beautiful and provides perfect illumination. Stewart Lighting is fairly priced and very responsive. They pateintly worked with us to make sure our lighting was exactly what we envisioned and were honest about what would and wouldn't give me the best light or might not visually be the best choice for reasons I had not even considered. Stewart Lighting which is a fictitious name owned by Florida Lighting Design employees or maybe the owner has no clue what it means when you drive a company vehicle that you represent the company. If the way their driver of their van is any indication of their customer service, than I know to stay far away from their store. This morning (Jan. 13) at 7:45am traveling north on U.S.1 (Philips Hwy) towards JTB, who ever was driving decided to come over into the right lane without any warning - failed to use signals (how hard is it to do that?!) which resulted in I having to hit my brakes hard. Not smart to drive aggressive like that especially when the road is wet. They really don't understand that driving in a company vehicle aggressively will hurt your reputation? It is too unfortunate that one person can cause such a negative stigma for a company but that is the chance you take when you let rude drivers in your vehicles. When I made my turn and pulled along side of him, instead of waving an apology - he had the nerve to honk at me. I think you better review good driving practices especially when you are representing a company on the road. read more
