Carl has been "our guy" for the past 5+ years and through at least 3 different apartments. He is THE BEST. In our most recent move, he came over FOUR times to help with all aspects of the apartment including (1) mounting both our TVs in one day, (2) installing a light fixture and coming back to help put in a smart switch as the outlet installed by LL was not up to code and floor level; (3) fixing our bedroom curtains which were installed too close to the window so had to drill through concrete ceiling to reinstall. His prices are very reasonable and great value. He hasn't changed his prices since 2018. He is the best. Carl also has a great eye for where things should be placed (always advising us on where a TV should go, and always having it perfect each time). You never want to think about these things after the installation and have peace of mind that it was done right, only once and with attention to detail. Carl always delivers. We hired Carl to mount two TVs in our new apartment. Messaged him on Yelp he arrived the next day. He ran twenty minutes late but was amazing and gave us a heads up with plenty of time. He was able to mount one perfectly and the second was more difficult due to a thin wall. After a quick mistake where a small hole the size of a screw went through the wall - he mounted it perfectly, ran to the hardware store and patched the hole like brand new. We asked him to also set up a complicated standing desk and hand half a dozen pictures as well. He was polite, knowledgeable, efficient and did an amazing job. He stayed for twice the time we asked him to to have everything completed and I couldn't suggest him enough. We will absolutely be calling him again in the future. 5/5 read more

Overall negative experience. I would not recommend. Anyone wanting more details can PM me. Update: I don't like leaving negative reviews but feel the need to respond to Carl's comments. At 11 am, we made a 5 pm appointment and I gave Carl my address. At 5:11 pm, he had not arrived, so I logged back into Yelp to message him and saw that at 3 pm he messaged me to ask for my apt number, and then said he refuses to go to a job without an apt number. I messaged back with my apt number and he replied that it would take another 30 min to arrive and asked if I still wanted him to come. He arrived at 5:45 pm. I had already taken the paper mounting template provided by LG and carefully measured how high above the fireplace the TV should be and taped the template there. I did this after watching the official LG installation video. This TV comes with its own mount because it is a flush mount TV and requires very specific mounting techniques. Carl insisted that he didn't need the template or to read the instructions and mocked me for watching "a random YouTube video". He then tried to measure where to place the mount by hand, without using the template. He struggled with this and ended up placing the TV too low to the mantelpiece and 3-5 inches lower than where I had measured it. When I asked him to double check, he became visibly irritated. After measuring again, he agreed to raise the position by a few inches -- grudgingly Then I asked him to measure the width of the mantlepiece to find the center position, which he was reluctant to do - becoming even more irritated. He grudgingly measured it and it was 72 inches wide. He then stepped away from the wall and got out his phone and turned his back to me. I couldn't help noticing that he was using a calculator to divide 72 by 2. Anyone who needs a calculator to divide 72 by 2 should be using the provided template and NOT trying to measure where to place the mount in his head. He then started to drill the first hole. After a few minutes of drilling with what was visibly a dull drill bit, he switched his drill to hammer drill mode. But it still took a very long time to drill one hole and he was using so much force on the drill that drill bit shifted and started wobbling. He kept drilling and I could see that the hole was getting wider instead of deeper because of the wobbling and I worried that it would end up too large to safely hold the wall screw anchor. After struggling for another 10 minutes to drill one hole with this worn out drill bit, I asked if he had a new drill bit. I even tried to see if I had a new one in the correct size, which I did not. It was now 6:40 pm so I suggested we reschedule to Monday, because he did not have a new drill bit with him and I worried that the noise from the prolonged hammer drilling would disturb my neighbors. Rather than agree to complete the job another day, he then insisted we only use two screws instead of the six screws that were provided by LG. And that he only needed a few more minutes to drill a second hole. This is a 65" 64 pound TV. I was not comfortable using only the two diagonal screws that Carl suggested. This was also an extendable wall mount. As the mount is extended, the effective lever arm length increases and the forces felt at the screw heads and mounting plate are multiplied and can reach hundreds of pounds. That is a recipe for failure of the screws or bending of the plate. It's a safety issue. If the manufacturer provides 6 screws, I don't think you should improvise and use only 2 because you're in a rush. Do the job right, or don't do it at all. I asked Carl again to reschedule to Monday and he started packing up his tools - obviously angry. Later that night be sent me an unsolicited, angry message via Yelp and it was clear he wasn't coming back to finish the job. Carl says he wears this review as a badge of honor against the elitists out there. Is it elitist to watch the LG installation video and use the wall mounting paper template and read the instructions? If a person cannot do simple arithmetic in their head (dividing 72 in half), they should not be ignoring the provided template and trying to do their own improvised measurements. Carl should have come to the job with a sharp drill bit. More importantly, he should not skimp and use just 2 screws instead of the 6 provided just because they're in a rush and don't have the proper tools. I am not an elitist, but I want the TV mounted in the correct position, with the wall anchors not loosely placed into ovalized holes, and not with less than the number of screws recommended by the manufacturer. read more

Carl was awesome! It was my first time getting anything mounted and I was a little nervous about doing it on my rental walks. Carl made the entire process painless and efficient. I contacted Carl through Yelp for a quote and he was able to come by the next morning. I originally just needed to get my TV and soundbar up, but he was also able to hide my cables in the wall so now my set up is even cleaner than I ever imagined. I provided my own mount and the soundbar came with its own mounting hardware. Carl explained everything he was doing as he was going through each step. When it was time to fit the mount onto my TV we found that the screws provided we're not long enough. Seeing as the nearest hardware store did not open for another 30 minutes, he used this time to hang up a huge mirror I had and measured out where the tv was going to go and get everything ready. After a quick trip down the block to pick up some screws and an extension cord for hiding the wires, we were rolling. I had 5 or 6 devices connected to my TV that he was able to hide behind the TV for a clean finished look. He made sure everything was working before leaving for his next job. He also explained how to take down everything and cover up the holes so you don't necessarily need to call him again to remove.
