We hired Dan and his team to do several tasks in our apartment, including: wire control hinge removal Elfa installation patching a wall after monitor removal mirror hanging clip replacement for mirror in kitchen. In our dealings with Dan he was always prompt, clear, and asked excellent questions to make sure we both understood the full scope of the work requested. He made excellent product recommendations with a mind to balancing quality and price. When in our space both he and his team were careful, friendly yet professional, and respectful of our home. We very highly recommend Handy Dan for your household handyperson needs. read more

Dan and company are great. They have helped me with big projects (rehanging a barn door) to smaller jobs like fixing a small screen in a window. The prices are fair and you feel that they are doing the best job that they can; like they are doing what they would do in their own house. I was out of commission for a while and let some small stuff turn into big stuff and they were completely helpful. Have a few more items for them to fix up and I look forward to hiring them again. read more

Dan is great! He showed up at the exact scheduled time, had me look at his progress throughout, explained every step, and cleaned up afterwards! He's personable and respectful (I was working from home and he was very courteous about it). Please tip Dan! He uses the money to buy his dogs treats. read more

Team Handy Dan - DWR String Bookshelf - Handyman Near Me

I've hired Team Handy Dan a few times now for different projects around my apartment in Astoria, and they're always solid. Most recently, they helped mount a bunch of art and shelves--everything is perfectly level and spaced out, and they clearly have a great eye for layout and design. They've also helped with little fixes I'd been putting off, like a wobbly cabinet and a loose outlet cover. It's just nice having someone reliable who shows up on time and actually does clean work. Highly recommend. read more

I hired Team Handy Dan to install a new vanity, sink, and plumbing, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience. Until now, my track record with contractors and handyman services has been pretty dismal - usually resulting in one thing getting fixed while something else ends up damaged. That was absolutely not the case here. Mike's attention to detail and efficient, focused work were both impressive and refreshing. He wasn't rushing to get to the next job, which is often when mistakes happen. The installation was flawless, and beyond that, Mike was friendly, easy to work with, and quick to find smart solutions to the few surprises that popped up. Email communication was clear, detailed, and made the booking process a breeze. I can't recommend Team Handy Dan highly enough and look forward to working with them again in the future! read more

I've used Dan at least three times maybe more. His work is excellent, and his pricing is extremely fair. As a matter of fact on the last job, he quoted a price and then when it was quicker and easier than he thought he reduced the price! Who does that?? That's how fair he is. You will not go wrong using him. He can do pretty much anything that you need. read more

Professional team! Very responsive over email. We've had them install a closet organizer as well as remove a door and fix a faucet. They were always happy to explain what was going on. When something went wrong (our shower wasn't up to code and the drilling for the closet went through a tile), they replaced the tile for free later. They came out to us at a later date at no cost -- if you've hired people to do work in NYC, you'll know what a big deal this is! read more

I'm very happy with the service. I had an old A/C unit removed from a 4th story window and replaced with a new unit. They were very careful and thorough and made sure everything worked before calling it "done" (it initially didn't work due to a tripped breaker they found). He does a certificate of insurance and came days earlier than initially expected which was very appreciated in the summer heat! read more

I hired Handy Dan for a larger project in our office, and we are so thrilled that we went with them! Dan, Eli, and Grant arrived on time, got right to work, and did everything to our exact specifications. We had large whiteboards hung, TVs mounted, standing desks assembled, and a few other misc tasks. My coworkers kept commenting on how quiet, clean, and respectful the guys were, which was especially nice since they were here during office hours. Extra bonus that they were insured, which provided peace of mind. We will most definitely be reaching back out when we have other projects to complete! read more

Dan and Eli anchored my Ikea furniture to the wall swiftly and safely. They also helped me anchor an ikea hack I came up with which wasn't super easy to do! They showed up with cute shoe covers and a big smile. I strongly recommend them for any help you need around the house. The results were over my expectations! I will definitely use them again in the future. read more

Dan is amazing! He answered my inquiry within a few hours and was even able to schedule time for my repairs and work request the next day. I needed an antique cedar chest repaired and Dan was easily able to fix it. He also hung wallpaper for me that looks absolutely perfect. I would have never gotten it done without him. I highly recommend Dan for his professionalism, timeliness, honesty, and attention to detail. read more

Mike, who works with Team Handy Dan, arrived with tools in hand ready to assemble a very large Ikea PAX storage system. He was on-time, professional and knew his stuff! I am so thrilled. It took a lot of effort and hours, but I am so happy I found a licensed handyman. My building in Queens does not allow unlicensed workers so I was concerned about proceeding with this system. Mike was reliable, responsive and terrific! I highly recommend Team Handy Dan for any project. read more

Dan and his whole team are exceptional. I've worked with Mike countless times while managing three different luxury condos doing both repairs and contractor work. Mike and Dan are incredibly knowledgeable, accommodating, friendly, and have gone above and beyond to accommodate my difficult schedule. They are now the only contractors I use for the investment homes I need to keep in show home quality. (P.S. Dan used to be a locksmith!) read more

Dan installed 60 feet of cable covers in a communal hallway. It was a tricky job requiring a great deal of precision to ensure that the cable covers were level and even across all the walls while working with different height beams and uneven walls. Dan was responsive, reliable, extremely pleasant to work with and got the job done quickly. Dan also carries insurance, which my building requires. I will definitely call him again when the need arises. read more

Dan came into our office in the Flatiron District to help us mount 50+ picture frames on our walls and put a complicated chair together. He was super fast, accurate, and reliable. He responded to our inquiry the same day and provided a COI right away. It's rare to find a handyman in NYC with a COI that is as responsive, responsible, and reliable as Dan. I would highly recommend for anyone in need of help on a project either in a commercial space or at-home! read more

Dan was awesome! He had to remove the old a/c unit from my window which was MUCH harder than it looked because the window hadn't been moved up or down in decades. But he pushed through, got rid of the old unit, and installed the lovely new Midea that he recommended. Super professional, thorough, and tidy. Would absolutely use him again for any handyman needs around my apartment! read more

I was very happy with the job Dan did and with the whole experience interacting with him. First, I needed a handyman with insurance which turned out to be quite a difficult. Dan's quote ended being pricey but he was the only one able to satisfy my building's insurance requirements. For reasons out of our control, it took a while from the first text I sent him to the day when he came in to the job. Dan was very patient, respectful and quick to response via email. The job was to assembly a wardrobe and a few light fixtures. Everything was done very well, quickly and professionally. He wasn't rushing, made sure I liked the end result and offered to help with anything else I needed done. Overall, interacting with Dan was a pleasure; he definitely knows and loves what he's doing. I will definitely reach out to him again when I need handyman services. read more

Dan was courteous, professional, and incredibly easy to communicate with. We got a competitive quote within a few hours of putting in our request on his website, and he was very prompt with his emails following up to find a time to perform the work which was mutually beneficial. He did a great job installing our air conditioning unit, and even offered to run out to the hardware store when we didn't bring our own bracket. I have nothing but positive things to say about his service, and I look forward to working with him again in the future! read more

Dan helped us install a motorized roller shade, which was particularly tricky because the shade was a fraction of an inch too wide for the space. Despite the challenge, Dan got the shade installed and operating in little time. He was overall a pleasure to work with -- he was prompt, easy to communicate with, and cleaned up after he finished working. read more

perfect handyman. arrived promptly, worked hard and fast, jobs still holding up months later perfectly

Dan is fantastic. Send him a description of your problem and a couple of pics and he comes totally prepared. A very personable guy who works smart and efficiently. I could not be more happy. He fixed my sliding balcony door and re-screened it, re-caulked some areas in both bathrooms and hung two mirrors for me absolutely perfectly in record time. I would not hesitate to call him again and recommend to my family and friends. read more

I hired Handy Dan to assemble a TV for a 55" tv and stereo components. I also wanted an estimate for redoing closet shelves that no longer stay on their brackets. A key issue mentioned on the website is that he is fully licensed, bonded and insured. My building requires a certificate of insurance. Communication was prompt and professional. The day of his visit, he arrived earlier than usual. He was masked and removed his footwear. The instructions for the tv stand suggested that 2 people needed to assemble it. He assembled it pretty quickly and moved the TV onto the stand. He also offered to help hook up the components, but I didn't need him for that. He looked at my closets. I originally thought I needed to have new shelves ordered. The vertical shelves had bowed out. The issue was resolved within 15 minutes by unscrewing a stabilizing screw at the bottom of one of the vertical shelves and moving it in closer together. Highly recommended and I will hire him again. read more

This man gets an A+ for Amazing, so far and above other tradesmen that have come to the house for an assortment of reasons. And he was cleanly dressed! We are already planning other jobs for him to do in the new year. Really fast and responsive communication by text. He gave me a reasonable price quote and stuck to it even when he found a glitch he wasn't expecting. Next day service at no extra charge since it was a small job--ceiling fan wouldn't turn off. He gave me a heads up when he was five minutes away. He was on time exactly--no window appointment, and put on rubber booties as soon as he stepped inside. I have NEVER seen any tradesmen in New York City do that. I usually have to provide those blue paper things, which they immediately lose or forget to wear. He showed up with all the supplies he needed, including an extra long chain for the fan that I can actually reach without standing on the tips of my toes. He even asked for a rag to clean the fan blades that I can't reach even on those tip toes! He cleaned up and removed all the trash from his work. He's LGBTQ friendly. He was fast and efficient. His services include general handyman, carpentry, painting, and more. He has over 100 5-star reviews online, and I can see why. You can't go wrong with Handyman Dan! Give him a call--you won't be sorry. read more
