Josh came over and did a great job with mounting my TV. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, prompt and I'd use him again for mounting a TV or even other work around my apt. Give him a call. He stands by his work. And he's a good dude!! Mike read more

I called because of the great reviews but now I wonder if they are real. Two of them seem similar with their ''call Josh'' statements. He arrived hours late. He did call to let me know but it was a little annoying to get these calls every half an hour for several hours. I asked for various things to be put up on the wall. He got the stuff up fairly quickly, but he put in quite a few holes more than necessary mostly because the walls reacted badly in some places. (One of the extra holes resulted from him just being careless about measurement.) He said that you never know how a wall is going to react, and the walls were really ruined in several places. Maybe it's true that there is no way to tell how the material is going to react, but he didn't bring any materials to fix the terrible rippling holes left in the wall. I had to call another handyman afterwards to fix that! read more

Short of it: I'm a highly talented and awesome individual however the idea of drilling into my wall and mounting a TV is not my wheelhouse of fun. That's where Josh stepped in. - I texted Josh on a Saturday morning to mount a new TV - My 40 inch HDTV was mounted to perfection by 6pm that night - Josh was friendly, knowledgeable and affordable. - The job was clean and professional. Save yourself the hassle. Give Josh a call/text if you need TV installation done. read more

If you haven't mounted an HDTV before, but think you can "just figure it out", I'd suggest you rethink this idea. I hired Josh as I didn't want to mess anything up with a $2,000 HDTV and having watched him do his work from start to finish, all I can say is thank god I didn't try this myself. It requires a lot more effort than you think and if you want to be 100% sure that nothing will go wrong during/after the installation (e.g. your TV doesn't sit parallel to the floor or it falls off its mount after you install it), hire Josh who has mounted well over a thousand TVs in his life. Moral of the story: If you want to mount your TV, make sure it's done the right way - hire Josh. read more

Josh understoon the job and got it done more professionally and faster than anyone else - saving me money and time. Josh was responsive during scheduling. Other installation companies were much slower in responding. Once at my apartment, he quickly disassembled a large wardrobe in the bedroom, moved the pieces to the living room and assembled it back in about 1 hour. Other installation companies had quoted me 2+ hours for the same job, and said how complicated it would be. Blah, blah, blah. read more

Had a great experience with Josh yesterday. He's a super friendly guy and does an amazing job. Don't hesitate to call him to install your TV or whatever A/V needs you have. Be sure to have some Detroit techno playing in the background during the install. read more

If you need to mount your TV call Josh. I did and he fit me in that same day after driving back to the city from a job in Newark. He had the correct mount for my tv and was efficient in putting it into my brick wall. He has been doing this for years and thus is quite experienced. Also, his price (which included the mount) was below that of Best Buy and other companies who likely do not provide the same level of service as Josh does nor the same quality TV mount. Plus, he's a friendly guy. So call the number listed on this page. You will not be disappointed. read more

I used Josh for a tv mount installation. Reader's Digest version: Josh is awesome; call him today. I contacted him and was able to set up an appointment within the week. We agreed on a price beforehand, which was cheaper than others I had researched in my area. Our 42-inch inherited tv is an older model that doesn't fit modern mounts, but Josh was able to adapt to the situation on the spot and securely put our tv up. This involved extra labor, but Josh stuck to the price we had agreed on. He was professional, polite and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend his services to friends, family and Yelpers. read more

Joshua just finished mounting my my 50ish inch TV onto a wall in my approximately 100-year-old apartment. i.e. it's made of newspaper and spackle, essentially. That said, he managed to safely mount the TV efficiently, quickly and professionally and now my living room has a lot more space! I found him via the reviews on Yelp, so I wanted to add my own thoughts here to back it up that he is, indeed, definitely someone you should go to if you're looking to have some complicated or potentially hazardous work around your living space. I'll definitely be hitting him up again in the future! Oh, also his prices are reasonable! I'm not someone with a ton of money lying around in a newly-renovated brownstone, so this definitely made a difference to me in choosing someone to help me out with this job. Friendly and interesting guy and definitely someone you'd feel confident in for doing the work. read more

I thought I was smart, so I went to Bestbuy, found out what to buy and of course bought it somewhere else cheaper & no way I pay a standard $300 installation from Bestbuy so that's when I called Josh after I saw the Yelp review. It was great that Josh works weekend (I'm slave to my job). During configuration we realized while my bracket is great it doesn't fit my poor old model flat screen. I was ready to give up hope .... Lucky for me that Josh actually has some wall mount in his track that fits the job. Josh ends up installing the whole thing for me, saves the day and I cannot be happier with my new wall-mount and setup (by the way, did I mentioned it cost me way less then buying the bracket separately & have it install? Sweet!!). Like the other review said, Josh went above and beyond to make sure everything is adjusted and looks great. If you are looking to mount your TV, call Josh ~ don't waste your time to shop the equipments, he got everything, mounts, media shelving and at good prices! read more

Josh came and hung my TV and some pictures for me the other day and did a really great job. A friend referred me initially--and said lots of nice things about Josh personally and the work he does. I have to agree. Also, I had to run out as I was late for an appointment--and I felt really safe letting Josh finish his work without me there. I normally would never do such a thing--but felt really comfortable after spending an hour with Josh. Just a good dude--and the price was really reasonable as well. 5 stars. read more

Had Josh over to mount my TV on concrete (a more difficult job than simple drywall). Was incredibly helpful and soon we had made another appointment to help me hide my cables and components behind the wall. He even helped me track down a few specialty cords and cord covers. Price was right and Josh was great. Highly recommended. read more

Josh just got done helping me re-mount my TV as well as put up some frames and shelves. The overall experience was terrific; he knew what he was doing, walked me through the process, worked through it all in a timely fashion, even had some suggestions with the decor. On top of all that his fee was very reasonable. So yeah, I'd definitely recommend him to those in need of similar work. He's a personable guy willing to accommodate any budget and time frame. Just give him a call. read more

Josh was a great choice for mounting my 60" TV in brick. He was very responsive, texting me back and forth to schedule (and reschedule when my TV was late arriving) the appointment. He was very friendly both while we scheduled the appointment and while he was working. He was very fast, extremely thorough in making sure the mount was stable and made every effort to keep the apartment clean, including holding paper towel under the drill to catch the dust. I would highly recommend Josh to anyone looking to mount their TV. read more

After many months of trying to unsuccessfully mount my flat screen to the unique contours of my apartment (dry wall behind a closet), I finally decided to listen to my angry girlfriend and call a professional. I am very glad that I did, and more specifically that I found Josh. While I am not usually the type to burn so many calories on a review, because I found Ovation Installs through the Yelp community, I feel a civic duty to help all of those other lost souls starring at the unrealized potential of their unmounted television sets. Yes, I take my TV watching very seriously. Luckily for me, so does Ovation Installs. From the onset, Josh was very professional in our communications and he was more than willing to accommodate my busy schedule (as per my request, he came over around 9:00 PM on a Wednesday night). The actual set up was surprisingly quick and I couldn't be happier with the end result. As an OCD-type I was very impressed with his attention to detail and it was evident in the final product. I was particularly concerned about the structural damage that might result from such a heavy mount and my particular wall, but that was put to rest when he rather amusingly lifted his 6'2' 200+ body on the mount to demonstrate its integrity. Overall it exceeded expectations. Having said all of that, the best part about the process was not the quality of the work (fantastic), or the person doing the work (amiable and professional), but the price. As someone who likes to save money (i.e. your average american), I was particularly satisfied with the price of his services, which is significantly lower than elsewhere (evidently mounted televisions are recession-proof). In conclusion: If you have a few extra hundred dollars to waste for sub-par work, call Best Buy. Otherwise, go with Josh. read more

Josh came all the way up to our 6 floor walk up, tolerated our absurdly obese housecats, and did a beautiful install job on our brand new 40" LED LCD TV. We saw great reviews on Yelp and were not let down. The highlights: - Josh was very communicative and responsive - He was professional and demonstrated expert knowledge of TV installation - He was clean; he offered to sweep up the dust off our floor after he was done with his work - He was funny and personable, which made the time fly by. Josh shared with us that he also hangs pictures, blinds, other window treatments, and that he also handles many aspects of Audio/Visual component install and management. All in all, he did a great job. When/if we move, we will be re-employing Josh's services. I just really can't think of a reason why I wouldn't do business with this guy in the future. read more

I was extremely satisfied. I would say Ovation--Josh--is the smartest choice for hanging a TV... at least in NYC. The lack of wood studs in my wall was no feat for Josh, who skillfully, and safely, mounted my 55" LED TV using the wall's steel studs. Josh's rates are great--much less than BestBuy etc. There wasn't a sacrifice in quality, either. I would recommend Josh for any TV mounting job. Although some report difficulty, I found scheduling easy. I called Tuesday. We made a tentative plan for same day installation, but rescheduled for Thursday. He arrived right on time. read more

We inherited a 42" Flat Screen with out a table top base so we had no option. We had to get it mounted to the wall. With no idea how to go about mounting it ourselves we contacted Josh. That very day he made time in his schedule to come by. Josh walked in with a bag of tools and mounted the television in under an hour. I was more than impressed. If you're looking for quality work and a nice guy to execute it, than Josh is the guy. Thanks Josh! read more

Josh did an excellent job on our 55" plasma. He was very accommodating with the scheduling, and was right on time on the day of. He even sold us some cable manager so we could hide the cables coming off the TV and everything looks great! I highly recommend him for all TV mounting needs. read more

Josh stood me up twice. Sent me many texts along the way."running late....so sorry....should be there soon." I suspect many of these reviews are from friends of his. Flaky. read more

When I moved to my apartment in Hell's Kitchen earlier this year I had two LCD TVs I needed mounted onto the wall (in my living room and bedroom). The task was a bit tricky because the walls are red brick and the wires cannot be fished to conceal the wiring. I called three different companies and Ovation Installs was by far the easiest to work with from the very beginning. After a brief phone consultation with Josh, I immediately knew that this was the best company for the job. He told me all the equipment I needed (and provided it at WAY less than Best Buy or even Tiger Direct) and literally took care of every detail for preparing the installation. He was very thorough in offering ideas to hide the wires and ultimately hand-painted a special concealing tube that seamlessly blends in with the red brick. In fact, I would have to point out what was done to hide the wires, or you would never know. When people come over they often comment on how good my TVs look on the wall. I always tell them about Josh and Ovation Installs and highly recommend him. He is responsible, professional, reasonably priced and a very hard worker (he even came back to my apartment a week later to make sure the TV over my fireplace in the bedroom was adjusted correctly and at the right tilt for viewing in bed). He even helped me install a floating shef above my TV in the living room. I've dealt with a number of other "handymen" and "home theater specialists" in the city and Ovation Installs was BY FAR my best experience. read more

If he shows up he does a great job. Great guy. Just not reliable. After a few hiccups (which should have been a warning) he showed up to mount my TV. He was suppose to do some other work for me the same time but he told me he couldn't and would come back. Had to find other people to finish the work. read more

I'm reviewing a little late. This happened awhile ago but I stopped (before I ever really started) Yelping and since I gave Josh such a glowing review last time I felt like I needed to change it since he failed me the second time. I was really excited about how great the first experience was. Josh came the next day, was super personable, and completed a television wall mount in about 45 minutes. The reason this guy has so many Yelp reviews is because he asks his customers to review him. I was happy to (despite my Yelp hiatus) because I had such a great experience with him. I don't think that all the five star reviews on here are disingenuous. About a month or two later I gave him a call with a laundry list of items, asking him if he could come ASAP. He told me he would call me back but that he may be able to come that evening. Never heard back so I called him that evening and he apologized and said if I called him tomorrow, he would be able to tell me a definite time for that same day. So I call the next day and he says he'll call me back. Again, he never called me back so I called that evening and he told me for the second time if I called tomorrow he could definitely send out a guy then. So I called him the next day, he said he called me back, and I never heard from him again. And that was that. So, three stars. Five for the first experience, 0 for the second. read more

I had a dinner party on Sunday night and Josh came through extremely last minute to install a huge chandelier in my dining room. The person I originally had scheduled canceled on me so I started reaching out to several people on yelp. Josh was the only one that was responsive and communicated with me the cost and time it would take to get the job done. Other places would not offer me a quote but Josh did over the phone. He came on time and hung the chandelier efficiently and professionally. He even made sure to cover the dining table so that it doesn't get damaged. Josh saved the day and got my chandelier hung in time for the party! I will be 100% using him again to mount my TV once I get it in. He goes above and beyond to get the job done even on a Sunday! Overall, great experience, and outstanding guy. read more

Josh is awesome. My husband scheduled Josh's services to hang our 52" TV on an exposed brick wall in our new apartment. As not to miss a weekend of football, we booked the installation on the same day we moved in. Our move took longer than we anticipated, and we had to call and push Josh out while we were still waiting for the movers to arrive with the TV. Not only was he cool about this, but actually ended up helping us move the TV in from the truck just to be nice. He was neat, quick and friendly in the midst of moving chaos. Thank you Josh! read more

Josh wall mounted my TV and he did a great job. His price was very reasonable and he was easy to deal with over the phone. But what made him great was that he's a cool dude; he was fun to chat with and he was able to explain what he was doing while he was doing it. I would highly recommend Josh's service. read more

Joshua was fantastic. Needed two TVs mounted on concrete walls. He was fast and efficient and great price. Results were awesome !!

Josh was so easy to work with. He has an excellent manner and is very professional. I especially likes that there was no need to get any equipment. He carries everything you need for a wall mount. He called when he was on his way and came promptly. My living room looks so large and airy with the tv off the media center! read more

Just had our 55 inch tv mounted on our wall over the weekend. Texted Josh on a Friday and he was able to do it for us the next day in just under 45 minutes and at a really reasonable price. Josh did a great job at making sure it was centered and at the perfect height. Not only did he do a great job, but he is also really easy to talk to! He even gave us a bunch of restaurant and bar recommendations in our neighborhood. I would definitely recommend him to anyone! read more

Completely unreliable. He was supposed to show up twice on scheduled days and just never responded or showed up.

Independent, efficient and affordable. I was not his friend, he wasn't referred and I never saw an ad for his company. I read the yelp reviews and gave him a text. (Mind you, I called other "professional" companies too.) Josh was the only one to text and call me back on the same day, come on the same day and have my TV mounted up on the wall in less than an hour. His price was better than any other I could find online, he made great conversation and like all the other yelpers, I was impressed that he cleaned the mess mounting a TV to a wall can make. It's all in the details and he had all the details, big and small, down to a science. I will never think twice about who I should call for any kind of A/V service in the future. I will refer him to friends and to all of NYC. Great stuff!!!! Pleasantly surprised and this customer is completely satisfied. A+++ read more

Josh was great. Very prompt and professional. I was thinking I would have to schedule the installation a few days out, but he got me on the schedule for that evening. He's a really nice guy and easy to chat with. read more

I called Josh on a recommendation from a friend of mine, but mostly it was because the price was much more reasonable than it would have been if the Geek Squad did it instead. He was able to come over the same week that I first reached out to him. He wall-mounted my 46" TV despite the brick behind my walls (which I didn't even know about). Once he got started, I realized that there was absolutely no way I should even have considered doing it myself. (It was just a fleeting thought, but stil...). I would definitely recommend him. read more

Josh was flexible with my schedule and professional with the installation. Planning on using his services again for my next TV mount.

Josh is the best! I texted him on Saturday afternoon and by Saturday night, my tv was up on the wall. Josh works clean and fast and clearly knows what he is doing. Not much to say really. Use this guy. He's just a really good dude, who provided excellent service at a fair price. There was some back and forth with setting up a time, but I'm a pretty laid back guy so I never requested a specific date, he did communicate well and nailed down a time and was here promptly. He put up my beast of a 50" Plasma on my wall last month quickly and with minimal wall intrusion. Casual but professional, would recommend and will use again. read more
