Bemidji is very rural living for me compared to big cities I've lived and worked in and tutto bene really hit the spot! Not a single item was meh. Everything came out beautiful, hot, and tasted beyond expectations. Waitress holly, was so friendly and down to earth. Really appreciate her service as she took care of the entire floor with a big table while still never forgetting to check in with me on how the food and drinks were. I ordered: 1 expresso martini: perfect strength, and perfectly creamy 6 oysters: so good! Delicious, vinegar was so yum 1 octopus salad: lightly chewy octopus cream creamy sauce paired well with nice bites of fresh corn 1 lamb ragu: super hot plate from the oven sauce was rich and pasta tasted so fresh. Good portion of lamb. Some shred and some with chunks. Loved the combo and the piece of bread with it was so perfect! I'm not at all a food critic, someone that writes yelp reviews, or really cares that much about my food experience. We had a delightful meal at Tutto Bene! We tried a bruschetta, the butternut squash soup, snow crab ravioli, and the gnocchi cacciatore. Our server was very nice and recommended some good wines. Honestly, my favorite dish was the soup! It was excellent. Generally the food was very high quality, but the meal took over two hours so plan accordingly. I would probably have given them 4 stars, but they went above and beyond by calling me when my boyfriend left his hat there, and then were willing to mail it back to him. Oh my goodness, where do I even begin? I was shocked to discover a restaurant like this in town, I've only been here twice for the Lunch hour but I gotta say this place is Magnificent. Pretty pricey but very worth it nonetheless, The Service here is amazing, the waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. The Dining/Bar area is kinda small, but cozy feeling. My first time coming here my boyfriend and I had the bread service and both ordered the grilled chicken pesto panini as our main course. The Focaccia was fresh and very flakey and fluffy, it was delicious by itself and even more so as a sandwich. The Lavender Martini is refreshing and is the main reason why I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a place with a good cocktail menu. Or if you're not into floral cocktail's another Martini I'd recommend is the espresso Martini. I searched for a reason to dock stars. I couldn't find one. From first contact to last, we received excellent service, fabulous food & amazing drinks. Let me back up. We were passing through town on a 3 night stay. On arrival, we rushed over & saw the "by reservation only" so we called. There were no tables as they were close to closing for the day, and they asked me to hold while they checked with the kitchen to see about take out options. The kitchen was already closing up - so, we said we'd try for the next day. Attempt 2: We were too late to get a reservation & they were closed for 2 the next 2 days... now - you're probably questioning how this is 5 stars. Ip to this point, they've been top notch, despite us not being able to get in. I send a message on FB to inquire about the holiday week hours, not expecting to hear back any time soon, as they're now closed for the night & the next 2 days. Instant reply: Great news- they're open on our return & we can get in! We were given all the info on the process, so there were no surprises on arrival. The service was very personalized, friendly and efficient. Even the surrounding (well-spaced) patrons were friendly & helpful. Everyone shared opinions on best drinks and dishes, and gave tips on local brews. I had a fantastic dinner here when I was visiting Bemidji. This spot is a hidden gem in the downtown area, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is very nice on the inside with an amazing selection of entrées, apps, and drinks. I ordered a red wine, the oxtail pasta, the crab pasta, oysters, and more. The food was very filling in flavorful, and everything I was in the mood for. We were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Water was served right away and our server stopped by soon after. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. To start, we ordered: - Glass of wine - Tortilla Soup - Focaccia Bread - Mussels (half order) The wine came fast and before we knew it, out came the rest. The Tortilla soup came out as Butternut Squash Soup. Simple error by the server on what the soup of the day was. The soup was good. The Focaccia bread was amazing. The Mussels were good. I had one shell that was not open and the broth, while tasty, was not hot. Per our server per the chef, they didn't want to burn the garlic in the broth. Hm. This would not keep me from ordering it again but I might ask the server to ask the chef to remove the garlic, then re-add it before serving. For our meals, we ordered: - Lasagna - Spaghetti with Veal Meatballs The Lasagna was very good. The Spaghetti was just okay. The sauce was uninspiring for my taste. The Veal Meatballs were good. I'd pass on this dish in the future. While we didn't order it, the Pork Shank meal look really good. Be aware of a couple of policies with minor fees: - $1.00 packaging fee for our leftovers - $2.00 fee for about 2 ounces of marinara sauce I asked for to go with my Spaghetti leftovers Neither were huge deals at all - but the packaging fee for the leftovers as a bit of a surprise. Secondly the service was quite nice, he didn't seem pushy or bother us but he was still exceptional. Way overpriced for $25 for a small plate of spaghetti and fettuccini. The fettuccini was overwhelmed with butter so much that there was a pool of butter in the bottom of the bowl. Spaghetti was ok but the portion size was very small and the little tiny meatballs for the $25 price tag. Go elsewhere! For an Italian restaurant all we heard was annoying music that wasn't Italian at all. Way overpriced and I wouldn't recommend the place. Very disappointed. read more

I've never paid over $200 for food that came out cold after sitting for an hour with zero refills on our drinks. That all changed today when I visited Tutto Bene. To be fair, I wouldn't give a darn about providing quality service to my patrons if the gratuity was already baked into the final bill. The food was room temp, the meat was dry, and the appetizers were laughable. Save your money and go to Applebees 3-5 times with the money you save. At least you might get warm food, and you certainly will receive better service!! read more

Had dinner with my mom. I normally don't write reviews but she was so excited to try tutto bene and was very disappointed. Service was the real kicker. For a higher end restaurant the service is awful. The owner or manager must not have trained their staff. We had dinner on a slow Tuesday night. Walk in. Got seated immediately. We ordered a nice bottle of wine, split a salad and ordered their two specials. Scallops with risotto cakes and braised veal with lemon caper buer blanc. They serve a lovely appetizer as part of their service but didn't get to the table for a good 20 minutes. The salad came with the meal instead of before. Waitress just said the kitchen got overwhelmed and too bad. Offered to put on a box for take out. My mom's scallops were cooked nicely but cold. The rice(not risotto unless they just were trying to use leftover dried risotto )cakes were dry and bland. The veal was braised perfectly but the caper sauce was so salty made the dish almost inedible. Unfortunate. We love to eat out when traveling and it was very disappointing. read more

I had the squid and it is some of the best squid I've ever had. The portions are just perfect for someone, even though they look small. This restaurant is on the expensive side, but it's not even that bad. I ordered an appetiser and two entrees which only costed me about $40. I would definitely recommend this place!!! read more

They said that menu is 5 years old. Might be time to up date the menu! When I went to pick it up I asked if I could get a small cup of freshly shredded mozzarella and he said that'd be a few extra dollars. That's absurd and taking advantage of a customer who got a To Go Order. This small bowl is their idea of a Full Order, which had 4 pieces of Ravioli! This was an outrageous $37.68! When I made the reservation I requested something nice for my wife's birthday. When we arrived (the first ones for dinner) they rushed us to the tiniest table in the place. This place surpassed my expectations. We ate outside, which was lovely and felt safer during the pandemic. My partner and I are vegetarians, so I arrived expecting limited choices, but I was pleasantly surprised. We chose two vegetarian appetizers and two entrees to share, as well as an affogato for dessert, and it was all wonderful. I couldn't decide what I liked best. We ordered a pesto pasta, a watermelon halloumi salad (which was divine), pesto zucchini bruschetta and warm focaccia. The focaccia was amazing and I would definitely come back to just get cocktails and bread sometime. Plain yellow building sitting on the corner,... nothing jumps out at you to get your attention, BUT this is one of those examples of not judging a book by its cover. Thanks to yelp, I discovered this gem. Hours on yelp showed 10pm as closing on Friday; however, I called just before 9 and they actually have last call for food at 8:30 and close at 9. So, we tried again Saturday night and I'm SO glad we did! Service was absolutely outstanding: 5+ stars. Food, is elegantly prepared and delicately plated. We received a perfect complimentary app: house made crackers, crostini, nuts and berry mix with a couple of slices of salami. The caesar salad was one of the best I've had and was huge... definitely plenty for at least two. The venison sausage little ears pasta was rich, but had a perfect balance. The lasagna bolognese was delectable. Both dishes were abundant portions. Superb wine list and good choice of beers. Whenever we go to restaurants my hubby and I share entrees. At Tutto Bene our waitress, Connie had no problem with that. :) she was also so very cordial and helpful to me (since I can't eat garlic or onions and this is an Italian restaurant!) and researched the whole menu for me...showing me exactly what I could eat and how a recipe could be altered to cater to my sensitive tummy - just loved her! We sat outside so we could feel like summer in Italy and weren't disappointed. It's a little romantic patio with ivy covered trellises sheltering it from the afternoon sun. The watermelon salad is mouth watering. My hubby is usually not a fan of cold soups but tried the gazpacho at Connie's recommendation and wasn't disappointed. I thought about ordering the ahi tuna entree, but asked Connie when the bluefin tuna had come into the restaurant and she (honestly) told me two days ago, which I appreciated. As an aside - the couple sitting next to us ordered the Ahi tuna and said it was delicious ;). Oh well... We shared the Wagyu kobe burger with bacon and brie.
