1. Ordered Eggs Benedict- had maybe 2 tablespoons of hollandaise on it. Egg was hardboiled, I have had eggs benedict at many places and I have NEVER had the egg served hard. 2. Biscuits and gravy was spicy, thankful my husband likes spicy food but very unexpected. 3. Food took 45 min to come out after ordering. 4. No bartender so waitresses were making all their own beverages. -Will not be going back- read more

Review of take out! The website didn't work, but they let me put an order in over the phone! It does share a number, site and walls with bar 209. It was ready in 20 mins on a busy Sunday morning. I had an omelet and side of banana bread French toast. The French toast was KILLER. The omelet was average! The cost was a bit much for the portions, but on par with local chains and definitely higher quality. Food stayed warm though! If you need take out breakfast, this is a fine choice, and probably the best in the area! read more

Red Stu Breakfast Bar - Omelet to go - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Bemidji, Minnesota

From the moment we walked in, the experience was special. The atmosphere was very pleasant--warm, welcoming, and perfect for sharing a meal with good company. The owner personally cooked for us, and you could taste the care and flavor in every bite--truly delicious food from start to finish. What stood out even more was their thoughtful accommodation for guests who don't eat steak. Every dish felt curated with respect for individual preferences, and no one left the table unsatisfied. But the highlight? Their support for first responders. It's clear this restaurant is about more than just great meals--they believe in giving back and uplifting the community. That kind of heart is hard to come by. Highly recommend Red Stu for outstanding food, inclusive hospitality, and a mission you'll be proud to support. read more

We stopped in on a Monday morning after reading the great reviews. Great selection for both savory and sweet. Hailee was our server, she was awesome. I loved all the options they had. I wanted to order the crab cake benedict but unfortunately, they were out of crab cakes, so I ordered Kelliher Omelet. A little bacon, some red peppers, caramelized onions, cheddar jack cheese and I asked for hollandaise on the side. Glad I did, because it was served cold. My husband always orders a traditional breakfast, so he got the Stu's number one. He liked everything but the roasted potatoes. They did taste different, I'm guessing they may have had cumin on them. I thought they tasted fine. We felt sorry for Hailee because she was seating, taking orders and delivering the food. There were at least 10 tables filled. Truly could have staffed a second person. I'm sure we'll be back on our next visit. read more

Portions are to big, not healthy, to much sugar calories...etc..they pride them selves on their cinnamon buns. would they pride them self when someone would get diabetes from the cinnamon rolls? I went twice this summer for brunch with a group of people and both times we had an awkward customer experience. Ordered 2 spicy Bloody Mary's and when the bill came it was $8 (price listed on menu) + $3 for each. The server seemed new so I let it slide and didn't say anything. Went back a month later and the same thing happened. We asked the server and she seemed confused and then said that's just the way their system works. So I guess they just automatically add $3 when you order a Bloody Mary??? Then....we had been there for about 1 hour and 20 mins, had finished our food, and were finishing our drinks when the manager walks up and asked us if we could finish shortly because they needed our table. The restaurant was half full. Table next to us was empty. It was super awkward and very unprofessional. I've never had that happen before. The food was good but you're better off going to Minnesota Nice down street. I've been there many times and have never had weird experiences like I've had at Red Stu. read more

Took the prior recommendations and had breakfast at Red Stu's while visiting Bemidji. There was plenty of on-street parking on Saturday morning at 10am. We ordered the Migas, the Koosie, and a salted caramel roll. The Migas comes with pulled pork, avocado, black beans, cheese, eggs, pico de gallo, sour cream, and cilantro over flour tortilla chips and the Koosie was biscuits loaded up with sausage gravy, two eggs, bacon, cheese and paprika. Unfortunately my dish came without the requisite pulled pork, but they were pretty quick about fixing it. Everything was good - the star of the show was definitely the cinnamon roll though. If I got a do-over I would skip the Migas and have a cinnabar roll all for myself (we shared). Friendly staff, good food, and worth a try if you are in the area Saturday or Sunday morning. read more

My first visit to Red Stu was not a positive experience unfortunately. Our server was "Sasha". Wait time for food was long ~ Once food was delivered she left, no check backs happened, sadly. I was going to ask for hot sauce because the condiments on our table were empty, she only returned when I asked another server to send her over after my Breakfast was served COLD, she apologized and said I can have it remade for you, which at this point ALOT of time had already passed and my party I was with, had already had finished eating. So I said "no thank you", she then offered to microwave it. Which I had been served by her, over easy cold eggs, cold meat and cold potatoes, but I said "sure, but it's gonna ruin my eggs", but whatever :( she didn't acknowledge that... For me, I didn't want a discount or a free meal, I just wanted her to acknowledge her mistakes. In my opinion, Cold food is not a cooks mistake it's a servers neglect issue. People accept mistakes when the person making them accepts responsibility for the problem and can quick rectify the issue and make the customer feel heard and happy. I did notice all the other servers were checking back with every other person they were serving just a couple of minutes after the food was delivered. In fact, another server set someone's food down and announced "it's on the house" ~ Not Sasha, I overheard her, over and over she was apologizing to all her tables repeatedly for messing up the food, not being present. When she brought back my microwaved plate, we asked her for to go boxes for the other party, as previously stated they had been done eating for a long time. However, she never returned, never checked back or nothing, zero attention. We grabbed another server for to go boxes paid our bills and left. Sadly the only way to find out why people never return to a business is by surveys or reviews. We can't get better unless someone speaks up. In my business, being a retail store manager, I've found most people silently disappear and never return unless you take your survey s seriously and ask questions to correct mistakes and take responsibility for errors. Otherwise, Then we wonder why we're not in business anymore or what happened? Kind regards, Neglected Custom read more

Does this look like biscuits and gravy to you? It doesn't to me either. I ordered the biscuit and sausage gravy. It comes with 2 eggs made to order. This was what I received. It was essentially a large biscuit with cream of chicken soup poured over the top of it and some cheddar cheese and bacon bits sprinkled on top. The "gravy" was souplike and there wasn't a speck of sausage in sight. My coffee was served lukewarm. The eggs were great, cooked exactly the way I like them. The waitstaff were very nice and personable, but the food was a disappointment. My son always considers going to the Red Stu to be a special treat, because it is the most expensive breakfast place in town. He was very happy with his peanut butter and banana waffles, so that is good. But to screw up something as basic as biscuits and gravy? I will likely suggest a different breakfast spot next time. read more

What a cute brunch spot! I had a great meal and so did my companions! I went with the migas & they were delicious! The only thing that would've made them better was maybe an spill or sorts but still literally a 9.8/10!!! The service was quick and our server was kind! I cannot wait to come back here because everyone sounded amazing! I should note that they have some amazing sounding drinks and I cannot wait to check those out the next time we are in town! read more

We didn't have a reservation but we were assured to be seated shortly. The gals were so nice and quickly seated our group of five. We'd had coffee which was filled as often as we asked. I chose biscuits and gravy and there were a variety of other dishes chosen. Mine was okay mainly because the biscuit to gravy ratio was way off. The biscuit had the flavor or batter of a scone so not that off putting but not correct. Most people in our group got cold food and the waitress kindly brought it back. The waitresses were so kind and although most orders were mixed up and food below average, we enjoyed our time. I highly suggest this place rethink their menu or get qualified chefs. If they do that, they are going to do great! I hope their waitresses stick it out that long!:) read more

There were so many things wrong with this experience that I don't even have words. Food = wrong order, over cooked toast, under cooked bacon, and the toast was toasted on one side. Service = abominable. Never coming back, and we're the easiest people to please on the planet. read more

Red Stu Breakfast Bar - 3 egg omelet hash browns crisp. Delicious bacon. Sriracha aioli spicy! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Bemidji, Minnesota

Very nice spot, tasty breakfast. Had the Stu's No. 1 breakfast and a cinnamon roll. Cinnamon roll was amazing, and huge (I was worried such a giant roll would be too bready and dry, but it was super-moist and absolutely delicious)! The pancake is also huge, covers entire plate. My only complaint was the broken yolk on my over easy eggs, and that they give you too much food :). Interior is also very pleasant with the large skylight. read more

Rays of golden sunshine shine through the skylight and refract like a prism dancing across the still sizzling bacon. The piping hot coffee sips smooth with a strong finish and awakens the senses while the farm fresh eggs quickly disappear from the plate. Decadent soccer ball sized cinnamon rolls and plates piled high with peanut butter bacon glazed french toast pass by to the packed tables of hungry breakfast aficionados. I've eaten here every Sunday for the past year and the phrase I overhear the most often is "Oh my God, wow!" The amazing staff are as equally incredible as the food. In an era of canned one sized fits all experiences, they have somehow managed to attract some of the most personable, passionate, and attentive wait staff on the planet. You really do feel like they are interested and invested in ensuring you have the absolute best dining experience of your life. Wether you're a regular of it's your first time in, you're sure to leave fulfilled, refreshed, and simply in awe of how they are able to fuse all this perfection together. Alright, so.... Service was VERY friendly. The portions are for one person, not too much, not too little. I had the Peanut Butter Banana Time waffles, and the bananas were a little on the bruised side. That isn't a negative, so much as it is a notification for those who don't eat bruised bananas. My son had the Koosie (biscuits and gravy). This isn't white gravy. However, it was really good. His eggs were also tasty. This restaurant has great food,a great vibe, and friendly atmosphere. It was a great find in Bemidji Mn.

Our breakfast was delicious! The Mingas (like breakfast nachos) were so good - flavorful and tender pork plus homemade tortilla chips and other delicious toppings. I got a side of the French toast casserole and it was dreamy. Real whipped cream and some Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal on top for a little extra crunch & fun! The decor and ambiance are super fun and modern. We didn't care for the giant cinnamon rolls. They sounded good but were really dry and bready with hardly any cinnamon flavor and no gooey center which is typically the best part. Not worth the calories, in my opinion. Drinks were great too - tons of bloody and mimosa flavors. Love the selection. read more

Everything was over beaten and over cooked. The biscuits were to dense the waffles were bland and burnt. The sausage gravy tasted like a cheeto. The french toast was sour. Absolutely horrible would not recommend. The only thing good was the drinks and they came late. We had a really wonderful time at this breakfast spot. The waitress was super kind and the ambiance of the restaurant was awesome. The only downside was the food ended up being cold, portions were small (considering the price), and overall it was just not very impressive. We DID however super enjoy our caramel roll that we got to share. I left wondering if our timing of the day contributed to the less than desirable food (it was like an hour before closing) or if it's just a really great spot to hang but subpar food. Overall, I probably would still go again, but this time I'll expect less. read more

The food was very good but it was breakfast so getting our food took a very long time but otherwise everything else was great.

My husband and I wanted to try this new restaurant downtown next to the new 209. Hubby ordered the Brother Rodney. He liked it very much. I tried a bite, even though it has corned beef and cabbage (neither of which I like). It was very flavorful, and dare I say, enjoyable! I couldn't decide between a sweet dish or savory dish, so I ordered the chocolate and gouda sandwich. The concept sounded really good. The sandwich, however, was lacking. The cheese to chocolate ratio is not balanced. The bread for this particular sandwich is quite thick, and the cheese gets lost between that and the chocolate. To make this sandwich better, I would recommend a lighter, possibly thinner bread, more cheese, and possibly hazelnut chocolate. According to my husband, the coffee has a very nice flavor and nice aroma. The atmosphere is wonderful, staff was very friendly, and the other patrons seem to be enjoying their food as well. We will definitely be back, I will just have to chose more wisely next time. read more

Menu is decent, execution is poor. Food quality fell off a cliff about a year after opening. Service is always good.

Had a great experience being our first time, Hannah was our server and she was fantastic! Polite, efficient, and personable. There was a mix up that caused a delay in our food, but honestly we were not even waiting that long and the manager personally apologize and provided their cinnamon bun (which is to die for) as an accommodation. The hot chocolate that was recommended by our server was also amazing! The reason for the mix up was not even their fault, their computer system couldn't differentiate between the tables inside or outside that they had set up to follow COVID safety precautions. Overall, great food and service! read more

The food is very good and the service is also nice too. The servers are very kind and friendly. It does take awhile for the food to be served, but that's just on account of how busy it gets. Red Stu is a five star restaurant in every regard! We visited in our way through Bemidji to have breakfast and couldn't have been more satisfied! The cinnamon rolls are bigger than the plates. Wow. Where do I start? I've been traveling to Bemidji every month for more than 2 years and have been here several times. It has always been a decent experience. Nothing stellar, but good enough to come back; good service, good food. But not this last time, which was yesterday (Sat). I came in towards the end of their service and I expected to have to wait to be seated. Fortunately, there was seating at the bar, I sat right down, and was waited upon nearly immediately. The first strike was when I ordered a mimosa and was told they were out of orange juice. Out of orange juice? On a Saturday morning? How bout you send someone over to the supermarket? I ordered it with pineapple juice and it was ok. I also knew exactly what I wanted and ordered the Ripper Omelet since I was in a time crunch to get to my next appt. I ordered bacon as my side and specifically asked that it be extra crispy. Waitress smiled and said "That will not be a problem at all." Relaxed and enjoyed my coffee and mimosa while waiting. And waiting. And waiting. That was the second strike. Finally, after 33 minutes I flagged down my waitress and asked if she had forgotten about me. I had seen literally dozens of plates come out of the kitchen since I placed my order. Now, during this 33 minutes, she did not once check on me - my mimosa and coffee glasses were empty. She replied "There's some problem in the kitchen. I'm not sure what it is." Ten minutes later a different waitress drops a plate in front of me. The slices of avocado on the omelet were more brown than green, the hash browns were warm, but not browned at all, and the bacon was about 10 degrees north of raw (strike 3). I told the waitress, "I specifically asked for crispy bacon. Please take this back." I ate what appeared to be the edible parts of the meal in the next 10-15 min. No, I never did see that bacon that I did end up paying for. I know, I could have said something, but at this point it was very difficult to get the attention of any of the waitresses, and the service was so slow I would not have been able to get to my appt on time. Lesson learned. I won't be coming here again. Good luck to you if you decide to try it. read more

The space itself is really cute! Food was definitely below average. The cinnamon rolls are big enough to share but were not as soft as I was expecting and they weren't very warm. Red stu is a must visit while in Bemidji, we had the absolute best breakfast in the state of Minnesota. We ordered the Mister Derek (waffle, sausage, eggs & gravy) as well as the Peanut butter/banana pancakes. Both were fantastic, well balanced and unique dishes.
