During a recent visit to Bemidji, I thought I'd give big apple bagels a try. Stopped in on a Sunday morning, long line, but moved along quite quickly. There's still remained a great selection of bagels. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and Service was prompt despite the large number of people there. The results? I had an everything bagel with cream cheese, not toasted, and it was perfect! Just enough, everything topping, and the bagel itself was tender, not tough, not too fluffy, just right. So delicious and at $3.30 a great value. They have a large case of muffins, both large and mini. I tried a few mini muffins, (3 pack for $2.78)and the coconut cream was delicious and tender. Also had a cinnamon muffin which was good but could've used more cinnamon, and a tiny chocolate New York cheesecake which was moist and delicious. Not overly sweet. The ambience was open and inviting and yet cozy, no loud overhead music. Everything was super clean, as were the bathrooms. Easily navigated if you need a wheelchair or other assistive device. All in all, super bummed that I live on the West Coast and will be so far away from this bagel shop. Highly recommended if you are in Bemidji! read more

This might be my favorite bagel spot I have ever visited. Walking in the door you smell fresh bagels being made and it tends to help the appetite kick into high gear. They have tons of options for you to choose, a wide variety of bagels and muffins are readily available and as you watch - more are made and brought out on a regular basis to keep the supply chain moving. The staff has been top notch and super friendly every time I have gone in, including the owner. She is a super friendly yet professional person who really has her finger on the pulse of every part of her business. Her team is the same, on top of the inventory, customers and orders. Whatever her magic trick is to hiring her team, she is definitely making the right decisions. The food, my lord they have some great tasting muffins and bagels. My favorite is probably the french toast bagel with honey cream cheese. Anyway, go on in and enjoy some carbs - you won't regret it. read more

I think this pretty fancy for a small town bagel shop! The atmosphere was that of a coffee shop, with some people working on their computers enjoying some treats. I went to try the bagels, but they offer much more! I was able to try a french toast bagel with regular cream cheese and an orange juice. Keeping it simple really paid off-it was delicious. I couldn't eat the whole thing, it was fairly large. The price seemed slightly higher than the cities, but it was good quality. On my next trip here, I plan to try one of the bakery goods like a pastry or muffin! read more

If you are looking for a place with excellent customer service and a happy atmosphere, this is the place to go. Oh and did I mention great food! The bagels and muffins are delicious. During my most recent experience at Big Apple Bagels, I seen 4 or 5 girls working. All of them had a specific job and worked very hard and efficient at getting everyone's orders out quickly. All of the girls were smiling and encouraged each other ("great job," "thank you," "please," etc.) I will definitely be back soon! read more

Stopped in to get a few bagels while camping in the area. We ended up having bagel sandwiches that came with 3 mini-muffins. The sandwiches were delicious and the mini-muffins were fantastic!!! We will be going back tomorrow on our way out of town and grab a few muffins. The service was efficient and friendly. Would highly recommend going here. read more

The gourmet muffins? They're gourmet. The bagels? Fresh. Everything here is delicious. The free book exchange is a really cool addition too. I love all the diverse options - not just breakfast here. This is a great new spot in Bemidji that serves fresh bagels, baked goods, and bagel sandwiches. It is like a Bruegger's Bagels that you would find in the Twin Cities area. Kinda pricey considering it is bagels and basic deli goods but since there aren't many choices in Bemidji, you have to pay to play. A nice place to meet for a business meeting. I was glad that I tried this place! The Deep Dish Apple Pie Muffin was great! The Southern Tradition breakfast item was very good! Being from the East Coast where we have multiple choices for bagel sandwiches, I did not find the prices that much different! I will return when I am back in the Bemidji area! read more
