They staff generously which allows for excellent service with people who seem to care, and the food is thoughtfully prepared. I also appreciate that this location has expanded; seating used to be a challenge, and now it's a friendly, lively, and comfortable space. While everything on the plate is good, I'll be honest: what I most look forward to every time is the black beans and rice. Even though I grew up eating them, it's surprisingly hard to find black beans with this much depth and flavor. Alpaca does them exceptionally well, and I really appreciate that. My wife always orders the Pollo Saltado. A mixture of chicken and vegetables over a load of French fries. She too will have left overs for tomorrow. She really prefers the warmer green sauce.
