Enjoyed a summer evening on the beach. Nice breeze and great food. Staff were welcoming and attentive. The night we went they had country line dancing. Good music and fun atmosphere. I will go back. read more

Honestly, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience at Turtles Joe's Sand Bar tonight for Wednesday night line dancing. :( I drove an hour to come here and try it out, so I was really hoping it would be worth the drive. The place was pretty dead so it wasn't like the staff was dealing with a huge crowd, but the lady bartender and the manager/owner were both really rude and unwelcoming. At that point, we just decided to leave because it wasn't worth staying somewhere we didn't feel welcome. I will say DJ Justin was really nice and definitely made the experience better. I'd honestly go wherever else DJ Justin DJs because I'd rather drive somewhere else and have a good time than come back here. Save yourself the time and go somewhere else. read more

I ordered the fish sandwich and it was delicious! Huge piece of fish and they also gave a large portion of tartar sauce with it. The service was just fine. We sat on the deck area and there was so many bees swarming around our food. The bees made our experience not that great. read more

Absolutely terrible. More than 2 hrs after sitting fish fry's still weren't served. Ended up walking out. Never going back

Server is the only reason we stayed. Food was awful!! 20 minutes to get waited on and 45 minutes for food. Will never go back

Absolutely the worst service ever. Waitress totally ignored us and we had to keep going to bar to order drinks Place had many open tables. No excuse! Horrible service read more

Good place to sit at the beach and have options for food and drink. They do charge during peak summertime to enter their beach area. But, you have bathrooms, drinks and food 500 ft away. Food was good, no complaints. They usually have a decent beer selection. read more

This place is a good time! We came on at 8:45 on a Friday night. At 9:06 we placed our order after being told the kitchen was about to cut off. I honestly didn't expect the food to be as fresh and delicious as it was. We got: cheese sticks, bang bang shrimp, wings, grilled cheese, and the haddock fish fry. It was all hot and fresh when it was delivered. Our waitress was very friendly despite that she was the ONLY waitress. Poor girl. We had a great experience and the live music was a plus!! Would love to come back during the day for drinks and chilling on Lake Erie! read more

This bar and restaurant is in a great location and has a very beachy feel. We bought a Jameson and Coke from the bar because the waitress never came back with a menu or anything. We were standing outside and away from the tables, so I won't complain much about that. The drinks were reasonably priced with a heavy pour of Jameson. I would probably stop by with my in-laws because the music and ambience seemed to cater to a bit of an older crowd. They played a lot of Jimmy Buffet style music and made me feel like I was at Margaritaville. read more

I was very impressed that the manager was aware of the dangers of latex gloves. They use final gloves and he was very friendly. The roast beef and french fries were good. I think I could've ordered anything and it would taste delicious because he was knowledgeable and accommodating about latex allergy and the dangers. His knowledge was greatly appreciated. It was country line dancing night. The speakers were just a little too loud for casual dining, but it was still fun. read more

Great location right on the beach, live music and good food! The Owners are the best with long term great employees.

We have been to Turtle Joe's a handful of times now, and have left each time disappointed. Every single time we've been there, we have waited over an hour for our food. Yesterday we came for lunch, and waited a whole 2 hours before we got our food. Once our food came, some of it was cold, French fries were undercooked and overall we were underwhelmed. The drinks and atmosphere are always good, just don't come if you're hungry and hoping to eat sometime this century. We definitely won't be eating here again. read more

We live in the area the ambience is classic Angola on the lake. It is a fun and festive atmosphere. However, the service is absolutely horrendous three times. I have tried coming here to eat three times. I have waited over an hour and a half for service twice I left before the food came out. They are understaffed, the one time I did stay for the food they accidentally brought out a plate of clams that someone had returned, and inside said plate was a dirty tissue with a half eaten clam spit out in the napkin. While I can understand that the server was very apologetic. It was actually a hazard, my son had eaten one of the clams before he realized it was a plate. It was returned to the kitchen not happy will not be returning with caution and anyone who wants to go there for food to not do it if you want to grab a beer great place to go read more

Awesome beachside restaurant with live music, special events, and a great summer vibe. Nightly specials as well.

Great taste of the "tropics" in WNY!! Wonderful lake views, yummy bar food at reasonable prices (we shared a few apps, including tasty wings and a TON of nachos) and wonderful service on a lazy Saturday afternoon. I imagine things get MUCH busier during their "rush hour," but we found a table, were served quickly, and had plenty of time to enjoy the great beachfront atmosphere without feeling rushed. If I lived closer, I'd be here all the time... ENJOY!! read more

My wife and I had a great meal enjoyed phenomenal service and got to listen to a excellent live band all for less than 100 bucks, with several drinks included. So when we first arrived we could not get enough of the Halloween decorations, the owners and staff obviously took great pride in making the place look good. It was not the most beautiful day but the view of the lake was still fantastic. Watching migrating birds land and rest before their final trip south for the winter We ordered an appetizer and a couple of drinks and were served by a beautiful and very responsive waitress named Alanna. She was attentive to us the entire night checking in at least once every 10 minutes. The menu is pretty extensive but mostly delicious pub grub. My wife had the fried bologna which was "the best one she's ever had in her life" I had simple quesadillas which were delicious with fresh onions and tomatoes. For those who have given bad reviews in the past I would say, lighten up, because this place is a beautiful little gem in Western New York. Enjoy it for what it is, a beach bar with a pub grub menu nice people and great service read more

Casual beach bar with great wings and a lovely view! Attentive service with Covid restrictions in place. Lots of outdoor seating. A variety of live music most nights. Food and drink specials nightly. A wide variety of casual bar food options. The best thing in the menu in my opinion is the wings, they were huge! Order them extra crispy and they will come out perfectly crispy on the outside yet still juicy on the inside. The everything wings are awesome, just a little spicy and tons of flavor. Great place to watch the sunset and grab a drink. read more

Turtle Joes Sand Bar - View from the patio - Bars Near Me - Angola, New York

stopped there yesterday for lunch..won't ever go back. As a matter of fact ...didn't even go in. $10.00 parking fee! $10.00 for me to park to eat at your restaurant. That's not going to happen. And for some reason they were looking in the trunk of the. car ahead of us. I can go next store to Mickey Rats and walk over if I really wanted to give Turtle Joes my business. We ended up at Castaways where we didn't pay to park and spent about $100. on lunch. read more

WOW! William (Billy) and his crew ~ especially Alec know how to make customers feel welcomed, valued and relaxed. What a surprise to have a mouthwatering roast beef sandwich - piled high with flavor that rivals any beef restaurant in Buffalo! Beef was unbelievably tender & lean with a nice assortment of au jus, horseradish, pickle & choice of side & roll - ALL very fresh. Staff was so attentive and genuinely CARES about having your visit enjoyable. Thank you for making a work week night out so pleasant. Please note...I devoured half of my sandwich before I took picture! read more

Didn't eat today because we ate next door (over priced and not good), but the drinks were great about 30% less than "next door." Can't talk about the food, but drinks were great, same view as next door, better priced and live band on the patio with a full crowd like "next door" used to be! You couldn't pay me to go back to this place. Ruined a nice spot on the beach with lousy staff and crappy food. And I mean LOUSY!

Turtle Joes was so much fun. We received amazing service from William and he made our experience memorable. The French Onion Soup was to die for! Beef on Weck was excellent. Sitting on the shores of Lake Erie made it an extra special meal. read more

No one sat us. (It's a bar though) no one brought us a menu. Had to find them. No one came to our table. We had to ask a staff to send someone from the wait staff to our table. They brought us our drinks. We ordered our food.... Waited 45 minutes. It never came. We left cash to cover the drinks. We saw the waitress on our way out. We told her it was taking too long and left cash for the drinks. Her reply, "ok. Bye" read more

First time there got the grilled chicken wrap. There was barley any chicken in it. Mostly lettuce. Took forever for the food to come out. I will say this if you just want drinks and to enjoy a great time outside with a great view then this is an ok spot. But don't eat here. read more

My son and I went to cool off by the beach last Sunday but decided to get a bite to eat 1st. (We paid $5 to park in their parking lot. I'm fine with that) The staff all wore masks as well as customers if you were on restaurant grounds. Staff were friendly and welcoming, offered suggestions to eat. I think I had a young lady name Katy. (sorry) I opted for a classic mojito, $9 but it wasn't as strong as I would have liked, too much ice and seemed watered down. The bartender was not busy yet and place was not crowded at all, we were there by 1p.m. People were trickling in ready for a live band. I could hear the band way later from the beach very clear! Our wait for food was short, I ordered a chicken soft shell taco and my son a pulled pork sandwich with fries and a pickle! Everything was served with disposable dinnerware. Is come again and give them another try on drinks. I'm giving them a 4 star because staff/waitresses parking attendants were working their butts off. The bathrooms were clean. read more

Enjoyed some live music on a Tuesday while we sat and ate chicken wings at the bar. Bartender was friendly and attentive. We ordered the everything wings--a bit spicy but delicious. We went there to get lunch and the food was piss poor and cold while it took a half an hour for our food. Keep in mind we got a blt and chicken fingers. Actually really stressful read more

This gets an extra one star for being on the beach. Other than that it's really not a place I would go back to. Drinks were weak and served in plastic cups with plastic straws. Our 'meal' was really rough. How do you mess up stuffed hot peppers? By serving them without actually cooking the peppers - they were raw peppers covered in cheddar cheese. Yuk. We went there to hear a band that was advertised but our server said oh no that was canceled. Bye bye Turtle Joe's. read more

This place does not deserve one star. Food was cold and wrong and slow. Taco salad had beef cheese and tomato on it. When asked what came on it the waitress said depends on who makes it! If you want inconsistent shitty food this is your spot! Went to the manager and she argued and said it wasn't cold. Really? No wonder this place is empty on a beautiful day! Steer away. Go to Connors! Or the food stAnd at Mickey rats! read more

This bar refused me water when I was dehydrated and had been spending money and drinking there a night at the beach. The owner instead yelled at me for not purchasing an alcoholic beverage, even though I was clearly in need of water. I'm so lucky that I was not driving that night, or did not become seriously injured due to the owners negligence. Highly recommend avoiding this bar at all costs, as it was the owner herself who refused me of water. I have been bartending for many years and have never seen anything like the service I received. Steer clear and head to Mickey rats right next door. read more

I spent my whole day at Turtle Joes with my friends on the beach, spending money on parking, drinks and food at this facility. On our way out after a long day in the sun we stopped at the bar to get tap water for the way home, because they don't let you bring in your own water bottles. After rude comments from what looked like the manager, we asked the busy bar tender she rolled her eyes and continued to serve the others. After the 3rd bartender finally started getting us water the other bartender after walking over from a conversation with the "manager" told us we had to purchase bottled water & would refused our request for tap water. P.S it is a LAW that if you sell alcohol you must provide free tap water. This is ridiculous i will not be returning and will be contacting whoever i need to in order to get this fixed! read more

I am a fan, been there two times this summer The staff was efficient and on top of things. I really like that they are open all the time. We jet skied there on an 80-degree day in October. They were the only place on the lake open their way. We did just get bar food and it was good. I was amazed it was a Sunday and the Bills game and the staff was on top of the large crowd. It took a little longer for food, but we understood with the crowd they didn't expected it to be that busy. Service always makes a bar, and they were friendly and pleasant. I was impressed and will jet ski out there next year. read more

We spent a beautiful July afternoon at Turtle Joes. We've been there twice recently and the food was very good...just saying. Fish fry was quality.
