I am writing this review to express my profound disappointment with trusting this establishment with hosting an event, and to warn others to steer clear of doing the same.
I planned on hosting a wedding dinner at this restaurant in June 2025, for about 40 guests. We agreed to pay a $150 per-person rate to reserve the restaurant privately for our group on a Saturday from 5pm-9pm. We thought that it would be reasonable to pay the restaurant $6000+ for this. It is a very casual and modest family restaurant with no private sections or areas, and we considered it more than reasonable to pay this amount to buy out the restaurant so our party could have exclusive access for a Saturday evening.
To our shock and disappointment, we arrived to find multiple unrelated parties dining throughout the restaurant.
At no point was the space private as contractually agreed. Throughout the evening, the manager continued to accept outside guests, which was extraordinarily unprofessional and completely contradicted the terms presented to us.
As a direct result of the restaurant's failure to honor the private booking, the service quality deteriorated significantly. Staff attention was divided, and our group consistently received slow, inattentive service. Food and drink orders were delayed, basic table needs like water refills were neglected, and we had 1.5 hour+ waiting periods between the serving of appetizers, main dishes and desserts.
I found myself having to direct staff regarding basic service tasks, which should never occur at an event of this cost.
Additionally, the restaurant failed to deliver on multiple commitments that were confirmed in writing. I requested printed menus for our guests, and the restaurant assured us this would be arranged. In reality, only two menus were printed, leaving our guests confused and forcing us to explain each course ourselves. This was yet another oversight that added unnecessary stress to what was meant to be a celebratory evening.
There were also moments of shockingly poor judgment. During our supposed private wedding event, the staff publicly celebrated a birthday for another patron who was not part of our group. Given that no outside guests should have been present at all, this was both inappropriate and disrespectful.
Food service was painfully slow throughout the evening, again due to the restaurant accommodating outside guests. Several members of our party were unable to stay long enough to receive dessert because of the delays. For an event scheduled around our wedding celebrations, this was particularly disheartening.
Finally, issues surrounding payment and tipping were handled in an unacceptable manner. We paid a premium price for a private event that was never provided, were charged for a higher guest count than we actually had, and gratuities were taken twice--once in advance and again on the final bill--despite the service clearly failing to meet even basic expectations.
In summary, this establishment failed to uphold its contractual promises, demonstrated poor management, and provided substandard service during an important family gathering.
When I reached out to management expressing my dissatisfaction, all of my concerns were minimized to a "misaligned communication issue" or denied entirely. And of course, no refund or any recourse was offered for them ruining our event.
It honestly shocks me that an establishment can have no conscience, to this extent! read more
