I'm not a big breakfast eater, but I'm always in search of good pancakes. The pancakes were flavorful, with a nice light distinctive taste. I also had the iced vanilla chai tea with honey and ginger, which was also delicious. The service was also great and prices are reasonable. My server Julian was great. Very polite and attentive young man. read more

Turning Point remains a disappointment. Hoboken location. I was last here about 3 years ago, and didn't return due to poor service. This is regarding service at the counter, not a table. Service was a bit better, but I still had to flag done the one server. Although I had been waiting about 10 minutes, I said I just arrived. 'Oh, do you need a menu' ? I replied 'Yes I need a menu. I also need the table cleaned, new plates and silverware.' Really ? I said I Just sat down, and 'do you need a menu' ? I ordered coffee, waffles and side chicken sausage. Coffee was served in a French press, but no instructions given on when to press it down. I guessed, and I think I guessed wrong, because it was weak. The food was served cold. How cold you ask ? The butter on the waffles (which I spread all over it) did not melt. That cold. Kinda defeats the purpose. But it did taste good, even cold. I'm not likely to go back soon. PS: This was for a Sunday Brunch. I may go back if I have a day off during the week, when It will be less busy and I can get a proper level of service and hopefully hot food. read more

Pancakes- filled with blueberries inside and topped with fresh blueberries, vegan friendly but didn't taste vegan, no crusting! 9/10 Shakshuka- excellent flavor, eggs were cooked perfectly and the taste mixed with the tomato onto the ciabatta was a perfect combination 9/10 Protein omelet- vegan, used just egg, was so fluffy and delicious! Maybe could have used a little more seasoning but with added salsa tasted great 8/10 Huevos rancheros- instead of on a tostada, served on a wrap which actually elevated the taste and kept it soft (for people with teeth like me), thought it was huge portions but enjoyed it with a little added hot sauce. 8/10 Ambience by the water escalated the experience and the staff was so friendly! read more

Delivery review! Had not been to this location in years and decided to order delivery and I'm so glad we did. (I was a little surprised it was better than expected!) We ordered via YELP (they use grub hub) for Sunday breakfast around 9:30am! We tried Cinnamon Roll Pancakes ($13.00) generous portion- could have used more cream cheese icing but they were good with syrup! My fav. the Wilbur Skillet prepared Omelette Style ($13.00) and the Western omelette with Potatoes ($12.50) we also tried the Just Beet It juice- very sweet and delish. Would absolutely order again. It's consistent. That's what I like best about TP! read more

I had brunch here with my friend. Nice place, great views and ambiance. The service was good too, it did take a while to get the food, but it was so worth the wait! There are lot of vegan options, I loved it! The price was reasonable too. We ordered avocado toast, 1 combo - martha's vineyard salad (no chicken), Beyond Patty in Chicken Pesto Sandwich and Tropical Waffle to share. All items tasted great, were cooked well, even the drinks - Annie's Pink Lemonade and Pam's Half & Half were delicious! Overall, great brunch spot and I would be coming back here for sure! read more

Ordered the french toast sticks and the Tuscany omelet. Both were delicious. Staff is very friendly. It was busy when my friend and I came in, but we were seated quickly since it was just the two of us. There were many options on the menu, which I liked. Overall, great brunch spot! read more

I stopped in for a cup of coffee, but after seeing and smelling all the delicious food, I decided to grab a late breakfast. It was a beautiful day and I sat on the patio, which offers comfortable seating and a great view of the Hudson and the Manhattan skyline. The service was friendly and efficient. Everyone was very kind, said hello and offered smiles. It was welcoming! Santiago my server was helpful with my order specifications, and took great care of me. I had the avocado Benedict. Loved the well made hollandaise, and the fact that mixed greens was a side option. The eggs were poached perfectly! I also ordered their cold brew, which had wonderful flavor and the right amount of strength. I thought the cold brew ice cube was a genius idea! Can't wait to come back with friends and try all of the different French toast options. Thanks again! read more

So many amazing breakfast/brunch dishes. Very meat heavy but I asked them to take the sausage out of one dish and it was no problem. Really lovely view of the water and a great place to grab brunch (limited alcohol though). The line was LONG but if you go to the website ahead of time you can put yourself on the wait list. This was my second time at Turning Point. It's a great brunch spot with plenty of customizable options for vegetarians. We came in for a birthday brunch, and the staff were very accommodating and helpful with our dietary restrictions. They even sang Happy birthday and got us a complimentary muffin (picture included). One thing that can be improved is the table reservation system. You can get yourself added to the waitlist online. However, you need to check-in person to be considered next in line which leads to additional waiting after you arrive. All in all this offers a great view of the Hudson River, delicious brunch food, and friendly staff members. Would definitely visit again! read more

I came here with two of my friends for a late lunch on a Sunday. I ordered a Martha's salad and some chicken sandwich. The salad was great and the waitress recommended I get the lemon dressing which was nice and tasty. The salad was tasty. The chicken sandwich was good too, but I should have clarified that I do not want cheese added. I would definitely recommend the salad again. The sandwich was okay. The waitress was nice. We were outdoors and had plenty of space. We did not wait too long. My friends liked their salad and pumpkin pancakes. We did initially order the zucchini pancakes but they ran out of zucchini. There was a loose mouse running around outside and the waiters were trying to get it. I really liked how easy it was to pay too. The QR code on the receipt allowed each of us to pay for whatever item we ordered and we could use Venmo as well. We also tipped online too. It was very easy and my first time experiencing being able to pay without a waiter present. read more

The wait times are pretty ridiculous . I mean i did the waitlist online and it said a 30 minute wait and i came in expecting to wait 15 more minutes as i was told by the hostess . I ended up waiting 1 HOUR to be seated. Other people who were coming in got seated before we did and when i addressed it to the hostess then coincidentally she says " oh you guys are next " I don't understand why people who got there after us got to be seated before like if we weren't only just 2 people waiting for a small table . The waiter wasn't too nice either . The food was good but i think if you're spending an hour waiting to be seated you are just hungry to eat anything . read more

Let me tell you about this place, because oh boy is it good. Let's start off with the wait i recommend making reservations. Even if you don't with a full cafe they will still find a place in like 30 min. Now the food, all of it was flavorful and had amazing portions. The salad was really fresh which was a nice surprise considering it's a brunch place. The skillet potatoes were spicy but thats ok. The coffee was flavorful and it was enough for 4 cups (it was 8 bucks btw). The waffles were nice and soft, so were the pancakes. The only problem i had with the food is that the English muffins were hard as rock. Our sever ( jores ) was kind attentive and helpful. The cafe has windows facing new york so will you eat you have a great view. The inside of the cafe was classy and cosy. The price was great for the food we got. This is a must visit place, so what are you waiting for. GO! read more

Went to the location in Long Branch for the summer menu (Lobster Palooza) and the interior was besutiful (great view) and so was the food! We got the flight of the juices (not the biggest juice person but I felt super healthy) The lobstacado toast - sooo good. They didnt skimp on the lobster meat Lobster Benedict - my bf liked this a lot. I don't typically like eggs Benedict but this was super tasty. The potatoes were good too! Nashville hot honey wrap-soo good. Nice and sweet, wish there was more heat Berry peachy French toast-again, I'm a little picky with French toast but I loved the sauce and berry peach combo. Breakfast at Turning Point with my wife and friends was a delight, and the Southern Chicken & Waffles stole the show! Chopped bacon and Sriracha hot honey on fluffy waffles? Sign me up! The Southern Chicken & Waffles were a symphony of sweet and savory. It was so good that I wanted more, My wife, ever the voice of reason, reminded me I'm on a diet, but the memory of those waffles will stay with me! I don't want to forget that I ordered the cappuccino which comes with two shots of expresso, my kind of coffee. My wife raved about the Avocado Smash Benny, so I'll have to try that next time. Not sure what my friends ordered since I was so consumed with my dish I didn't even to bother to ask them! With the waterfront view adding to the ambiance, Turning Point is a perfect spot for a delicious breakfast. I'll be back soon! read more

The Turning Point has been on my list for a while now and I gotta say I LOVE this place! Ambiance: The view is beautiful! Overlooking the NYC skyline. Wherever you sit in the restaurant you can see the view as they have huge windows. The inside is a little smaller than I expected but cozy. Food/Drink: My dad and I started off with coffee which came in a cool looking french press. For food, we started with the flight of pancakes! Cinnamon roll, lemon blueberry dream, and bourbon walnut banana cakes. Each pancake was packed with flavor, moist and warm...ugh, delish! As my main entree, I ordered a cilantro lime shrimp bowl with a side salad. The bowl was a great healthy and light choice and the mango salsa on top brought out the freshness! They had so many great choices I can't wait to try them all. Price: For it being Hoboken, I thought it would be a bit more pricey but it wasn't. Menu items are decently priced. Parking: Remember, it's Hoboken LOL! I was lucky enough to find paid parking down the block. Service: The waitress was sweet. No complaints. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu items! read more

A cute little spot across the street from the Hudson River. The chicken & waffles were good . The had a sweet-spicy sauce that I wanted to bottle and take home . The service was good. My only complaint was that we had ordered an appetizer. When it was brought to the table, it was the wrong one. After they corrected the mistake, it arrived after we had received our food. But I was in the area again, I would definitely drop in again. read more

I really enjoyed eating breakfast here!! The restaurant had a "homey" feel, with pictures and road signs covering the walls. Able to get right in without a wait, and had a great view of the NYC skyline through the large windows. For breakfast/brunch, they have a wide selection of French press coffee, espresso, and hot chocolate. I ordered the Wilbur skillet- a skillet of potatoes, crushed bacon, avocado, diced tomato, jack cheese, and 2 over medium eggs. It came out fast and fresh, was a large portion and I was barely able to finish it. I also ordered the pumpkin pancake special of the day- and thought they were amazing. Just the right amount of sweetness. I would definitely return here for breakfast again. read more

Singing: Happy, happy, joy, joy! Yup, I found another favorite brunch spot! The food choices are creative and delicious! We were a table of 4 and waited about 45mins. Next time we will get on the waiting list by the Yelp app before arrival. While we all waited, we were guessing that the food had to be good and we were right! First, we were seated in a room where you can see the view of NYC/waterfront from the window. Such a special touch to the brunch experience and especially since it's wintertime. I ordered a cookies & cream hot chocolate from the seasonal menu. Hot cocoa & cookie perfection in your mouth! For my meal, I ate the low country shrimp hash bowl. Let me tell you something...this was very flavorful and yum-my! I asked for my eggs to be scrambled with Monterey Jack Cheese. Were they stingy on the shrimp? Absolutely not! Lots of shrimp! I also tried my girlfriend's bourbon walnut banana cakes (pancake) that was pretty good too. Everything was on "point"! Icing on the cake was Turning Point's method of paying the bill -- easily on your cell phone. The best way ever to pay your bill and split the check that's displayed on your receipt. All restaurants need to adapt this method! Our server was very nice and knowledgeable about the food choices. She even gave great suggestions! I cannot wait to go back!!!! read more

We were recommended this place as one of the best brunches in NJ. However, the meal left us a bit disappointed. The Cubano sandwich wasn't crispy and buttery as we're used to, when these sandwiches are usually pressed in a plancha grill with tons of butter. The Huevos Rancheros bowl was a bit dry and bland in a cold tortilla bowl. The few pieces of chicken chorizo that we did find in the dish were fantastic and delicious! However, I think we only got 3 total pieces of chorizo sausage. Very disappointing. read more

Ordered from here and was pretty disappointed. Got the Big Easy Benny and it came with 1/8 of an avocado that looked like it had a bite taken out if it, no Hollandaise sauce as described, a skimpy piece of cornbread, and cold peppers and onions. Slightly cold is to be expected if you order delivery but this felt like they added pre-sautéed peppers and onions from the fridge. When you order from a place like this and you don't get what's in the description, it feels like a cheap shot because you can't send it back. Reason I gave it 2 stars is because my fiancé liked her pancakes. read more

Chose Turning Point of Hoboken because of our great experience in another state. Knowing how parking is in Hoboken we chose the pickup option. I had difficulty adjusting my order through the Uber Eats app so I called it in. It took 3 calls to get someone, however, the individual was ver courteous. It seems this location is primarily for the locals. Parking is practically nonexistent (even on a late Tuesday morning). There is no signage, which made pick up slightly confusing. I entered through the restaurant but was then told to walk through to the other side for pickup. My order was waiting in the pick up area. There wasn't anyone on this side of the restaurant when I walked through. I noticed the receipt stapled to the bag had a QR code to scan and pay. I had began the process when I noticed a young lady had come to the register and was now watching me. The only greeting I received was "you can pay here". When I said I had begun the process to pay by phone, she politely stared until she received confirmation on her end. This made me admittedly uncomfortable because the woman that entered behind me simply grabbed her bag and exited. Aside from the awkward introduction, our food - what we received that was correct was ok. I specifically asked for an order of grits by saying, "do you have grits? May I add that to my order?" After confirming, you can appreciate my disappointment when I opened the bag and noticed I received a side of Turkey lunch meat - no grits. My lasting impression was the Walk on the Beach (juice). It was surprisingly sweet and delicious. It was wrapped perfectly for a takeout order. read more

I had a serious craving for some diner food when I noticed Turning Point on DoorDash. They had delivery listed as a 40ish minute wait and the menu sounded delicious. I decided to order from here mostly for the short delivery window. When we placed our order at 11:30 and once it was confirmed the wait time shot up to an hour and 15. That's 100% an issue with the app and not the restaurant itself. Our food arrived at 12:45 which to be fair was exactly how long they had estimated. No faults there. Unfortunately, by the time the driver got here everything was cold. While I'm not against microwaving food, the idea of nuking eggs just doesn't sound appetizing. Even after heating everything up the potatoes were still very undercooked. While I appreciated the small touches like grass fed butter both packets were smooshed and left a greasy mess in the bag. My power grain pancakes were okay albeit a little grainy. I'm sure these taste better in person. On the other hand, my partners Wilbur skillet came with an uncooked English muffin and had maybe a single eggs worth of scrambles. While we love bacon, there seemed to be more of it than actual egg. In retrospect, had I known how popular of a brunch spot they are I probably would've ordered from somewhere else since the weekend rush sounds insane. We both agreed this is probably a good spot to eat in person despite the meh experience with delivery. read more

This is my favorite diner in New Jersey. I love coming here and is so convenient cause its just 15 min away from home. Every-time I come I order the grande huevos rancheros which is a must try. Today we ordered the southern fried chicken and a couple of lattes. We love the coffee here and my sister adored her fried chicken and waffles. The service is amazing and the waiters are super sweet. The view is a big plus specially in the summer when you can seat in their front patio. I do recommend you avoid coming during the weekend as the wait can reach up to 2+ hours but its worth it. This is definitely the best breakfast/brunch that I will ever have in my life. I just left and already cannot wait to come again! read more

Food was alright. That was the highlight of this experience. Even considering the food wasn't prepared properly even according to their own menu, it still tasted fine. Other than that, this experience was a lesson in patience. Over 2 hours of sitting in the purgatory that was this restaurant, service was absolutely abysmal. It was over 15 minutes after getting seated before a waiter even approached the table, then another 10 minutes after that to even get the coffee (just a regular drip one at that). Food came out fairly quickly after the long coffee wait, but as mentioned wasn't prepared properly. It was missing ingredients, however, if I wanted to bring that to the attention of the staff, I'd still be sitting there waiting. It tasted fine otherwise but was definitely not worth the experience that it came with. Can't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I came here responding to all the hype. I will say this little turning point is very pleasing to the eyes. Most of the tables you will have a beautiful view of the pier and the restaurant itself is very modern with a nautical decor palette. Getting to the food, I have to admit I expected more. Being that I am a Benny connoisseur (in my own little world lol) We tried two of their Bennys and I have to say it was they were not memorable. Any restaurant that learns how to make the little potato cubes that often come with this dish less dry and more appealing they will do everyone a great service! Their coffee was bitter and hot to the point where you burn your tongue off. Dangerously hot! We had to wait u til being done with our meals before taking a good sip. The redeeming dish was the lemon blue berry pancakes. One of the best fresh made pancakes I've had at a brunch spot. The lemon flavor was subtle and deliciously delicate. Fresh lemon zest and blue berries were sprinkled on top and that made me smile! I'll be back to try the rest of their flavors, indeed! read more
