    Records for sale

I really like to support local establishments, but Turn! Turn! Turn! makes it tough to do so. While this establishment wasn't at all to my liking, I'm sure that many will find it quaint, charming, and quite to their liking. To me, though, it just misses the mark. First off, the front entrance door has a very big sign stating that it is ONLY to be used by the bands, and that customers must use the side door. It took a bit to find the side door, because there is NOTHING on it indicating the name of the business. There's no window, no store hours, nothing to confirm that one has found the customer entrance. This is VERY uninviting, and seems to relegate customers to being second-class citizens right from the start. The interior is dark, and seating is universally uncomfortable. One side of the tables' seats is a basically a long wooden backless bench that serves as basically a stoop under the windows, and if you lean back, your back would be against the window. The other side have chairs with their backs to the stage. So, seating is TERRIBLE if you want to see a band perform. You'll also see old vinyl records for sale, which seems quirky for the sake of being quirky. The service was a mixed bag. The employee to helped me was helpful, kind, and friendly. The other employee, and it really pains me to have to say this, literally reeked of BO. This is NOT what I want if I'm having food or a drink, and I was happy that he stayed behind the bar, and that my seat was far enough away that I didn't have to smell him that frequently. The food menu is tiny, and focuses on being vegetarian. I opted for a rice / bean bowl with Jalapenos and meatballs (as an add-on). The beans and rice were cooked perfectly, and the dish thoughtfully had tortilla chips which made for a nice textural contrast. The meatballs were not good, though, tasting as though they hung around in the refrigerator for longer than they should have. The sound was kept at a comfortable level for the performance, which was nice, but I left very early because the establishment just wasn't a comfortable place to be.

A great little stop for anyone on the move. And important thing to know is that Turn Turn Turn is actually bin a shared space. The morning belongs to a coffee shop and the afternoon is to the bar. Turn is located right off a bicycle superhighway, which is actually how I discovered it (right on North Williams) and as it is at a stoplight, you can't help but be curious what is inside. The interior is small and cozy and quite welcoming in a very Portland way. A small selection of curated beers greets you as you enter along with a brief but effective menu to pad your stomach into your next drink. As the evening moves in, music of various types (dj etc...) Will be your entertaining options and in the lead up, an eclectic selection of music is playing for you and your friends to enjoy. Although small, there is some seating outside which honestly doesn't get as loud as you would think. I can say that you see a lot of places like this on the East side, but this one has the best melding of price, location and menu. Absolutely well worth your time.

This is an eclectic little spot. Re-sale clothing, pick and play your own vinyl, live music, beer, cider or wine and anything you want to eat that can be made with a George Forman grill. The art and furniture are garage sale chic. it is a fun place to come hang for a pint, peruse the vintage t-shirts for sale and listen to some tunes. Might want o get a grilled cheese while our there..

Friday's Child, hot pressed sandwich, to go.
    Bill L.

I rolled in 12 minutes before closing, hoping to grab a sandwich to go, as I was in the last 1/4 of my road trip from San Francisco to Seattle. My care taker was friendly and agreed to fire up the hot press to make a Friday's Child, hot sandwich for me to take with me. They usually shut down food an hour or so before closing, but she didn't want me to go on hungry. It looks like I may have missed the night's live music. If it were earlier, I would have loved to hang out at this music-bar. It harkins back to the ... 70s, with actual turntables spinning vinyl records. Definitely "retro". They have old albums and clothes for sale. There were conventional hipsters hanging out, but the retro atmosphere reminds me that hipsters are the retro-hippies, and looked quite at home here. The pressed sandwich was very good. It had a nice crispy crunch followed by a nice mix of flavors (cheese, tangy peppers, pesto, etc). It also came with some crunchy potato chips and a homemade slaw. It hit the spot, the first food since breakfast, at 11pm. Now, only three more hours on the road.

Cute, quaint place. Enjoyed the chips and salsa along with a couple of drinks. Great service from the girl from Chico, CA.... didn't get her name, but friendly and enjoyed our visit to the establishment. We were there from out of town and would return next time!

This place keeps getting better and better. I love the new stage and more open space. Great variety of shows here. Comfortable and chill vibes abound.

    Spicy chickpea dip!

Great spot! Tasty chickpea dip and a bunch of really cool records. Imagine the shop from High Fidelity with less pompousness and beers on tap (the Cascade Lakes Mosaic IPA was delicious). I'll definitely hit this place up next time I'm in town.

Visited them for breakfast. Everything was fine. I like their creative lavender drink. :)

Quick read: YES, COME HERE!…read more We took a chance on this place when some unexpected family flew into town and wanted a good breakfast. This was the first spot open long enough for us to still squeeze one in. As soon as we walked in, we noticed a sign proudly supporting inclusion and justice. As a Mexican queer woman, seeing that right away felt genuinely welcoming. We grabbed a table, got our menus, and I immediately noticed the Community Meal option-where anyone can come in and get a meal, no questions asked, free of cost. Our server overheard us talking about it and was ready to offer it with complete respect. We were the only ones in this restaurant and they were okay with providing meals for free if we needed them. That alone speaks volumes about the kind of place this is. When ordering, we learned they don't even have a freezer everything is fresh and locally sourced. Big win. One of us ordered the French toast, and wow... I wish I had too. It was beautiful, topped with nuts for the perfect crunch, and made with brioche bread. PHENOMENAL. I had a bite (and got the leftovers), and it was just as amazing cold. I ordered the chorizo breakfast sandwich with a side of tots, and even the quality of the oil they fry with must be top-notch because those tots had the perfect crispy outside with soft, fluffy insides. My friend ordered the huevos rancheros, which I barely saw before he devoured it and immediately went into a happy food coma. We also had biscuits and gravy--slightly sweeter than usual, but still delicious. I'll absolutely be bringing friends here for future breakfast dates. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and come try their food!

I had a Spicy Vegetarian Burger and it was pretty good, next time I would probably try the Classic version. The pickles and sauce were good and the impossible patty was great. My sister thought her classic burger was solid, but she would have liked a little more sauce. Keep in mind that she likes a lottt of sauce. The bun was a little too big for her burger patty too, but overall it was tasty and all the flavors complemented each other. Ambiance-wise there was nice decor and plenty of seating options! The blinds kept out a lot of natural light but we were able to lift them a bit so it wasn't a problem! While they weren't as crispy as I would've wanted - I would say while some parts were, most of it was on the softer side - I did think that they were seasoned excellently. They also paired quite well with the mayo-based sauces we received. Moving onto the burger, I really enjoyed this. When I've had tofu on a burger in the past - it's usually been in smaller pieces - so getting such a massive piece that sticks out on either end of the burger was really nice. In addition, the breading was good - while not super-present. I quite liked the fact that it was very lightly breaded - meaning the huge patty was like 95% tofu - leaving the tofu to stand on its own as the majority of the bite. The buns were alright - I'm not big into vegan buns - but I didn't mind these The mustard sauce was also pretty good I will say, although I did order the Mr. Onion burger so I should've known what I was getting myself into, but there were just way too many onions on this burger. It was to the point where they absolutely dominated the taste of my first bite. I had to remove a lot of them from the bottom of the burger to actually make this edible. For the price, it is a bit expensive - but it's also quite filling so I didn't mind it. I also have to mention - because my burger was late, as a gift they brought out a full set of pastries/cookies in a box. This was incredibly surprising and something I've never seen another restaurant do. Major props for that

There are several items that either come gluten free or can be modified to be. The servers are knowledgeable about the ingredients of the menu items and I feel confident and safe eating here when gluten free is a need for me. They can get pretty crowded, but have several seating options. It was nice out today so outdoor seating was even possible, though it looked like there was a wait. There are tvs in several spots that showcase local sports when possible. There is a kids area and you can sit close while the kids play. Everyone we come in contact with here from servers to hosts are super friendly and welcoming. The food is pretty good. This time around, we shared the garlic Parmesan fries and the chicken wings (buffalo and honey gojuchang sauces). The wings were smoked and moist with good flavor. The fries were alright. More of the aioli would have helped so maybe request extra sauce or get some on the side. The dessert menu has some non-traditional offerings. The highlight for me was the cheesecake. I was assured by a server one time that the chef creates a gluten free cheesecake that rotates on the seasonal dessert menu. The current offering is tiramisu. The coffee chocolate sauce is good and I appreciated the bonus chocolate chip biscotti. The actual cheesecake is decent and I would be excited to try other flavors in the future.
