    13$ but it was tasty

TLDR: bouncers stole my birthday beer and refused to give it back. But hey happy birthday, Thanks for spending money here - Went out for my Twenty First, decided to come here after some recommends and was definitely excited. Earlier in the night my friend got me a Birthday themed Lager (Birthday Party: an Italian Lager) which I carried in my bag since I wanted to save it for later and obviously no driving! - They told me to get it off their property which I did, and I guess one of them watched me set it somewhere and they promptly took it. After having a few drinks, seeing it gone from its spot I asked and they said they took it but refused to return it. Hope they felt good taking someone's birthday gift.

Always a solid music venue choice! If you're favorite artist is playing at Mississippi Studios make it a point to not miss! The tickets are reasonably priced and you get a great intimate viewing performance. I love the coziness of this venue and everything that goes along with it. I've been here to see various artists throughout the years and have always enjoyed myself. So glad to see this place is sustaining and keeping the music world alive!

Easily one of the top venues to catch a show I've ever experienced. I saw Jerry Paper and couldn't be more impressed with the Acoustics and vibe. Upstairs offers seating, but downstairs is where you want to be. Highway recommend finding a spot on the carpet and get ready for some great music. If your favorite artist is performing in Portland at Mississippi Studio - GO! Thank me later.

It's been several years since I've been here and I was happy to have mocktails and a bite to eat before a show. Nice to have something stick around so many of my old spots are gone now.

Here for the Ben Chapman show, great venue but really small. Balcony is almost over the stage. Very intimate & sweet sound. Known for their food which is delicious. Try the Not Tots.

Fun neighborhood pub. Wish I was hungry the food looked excellent. Anyways they sell a dunkle and fun varieties of beer. The servers didn't look overly enthused for anyone being there on Thanksgiving evening. But that's a restaurant business is. So even if you're staying downtown we took an Uber well worth your time for the little different scene to have some drinks and a different vibe.

Their burger was pretty dry, maybe not enough fat, they claim they use painted hills grass fed beef which would be more healthy?, and I thought tasty. The shoestring fries were good and the coke. It is a nice outdoor place with a big screen tv. If it isn't raining you could sit in an uncovered better ventilated area. I was there for a show , only one wearing a mask. Nice small place with top artist Judith Hill. Only one person had a beer I could see on 2nd floor. Haven't been here in years. Patio was pretty full when I left. If I go again might try to eat nearby after getting a seat (leave coat on it).

Seriously an awesome place to see a concert. Very small venue tat has some great acts. They have a bar attached to the venue that you can hang out in before the show. I have never heard anybody say anything bad about this venue. The sound was very good. I would definitely want to see another act at Mississippi Studios.

This is the best place to check out local music!! Such a beautiful set up, the outdoor area is AMAZING, and the sound is great! It seems like they would charge more because it's such a nice facility, but the prices there are great!! $8 for an amazing hot toddy with Jameson. I've heard great things about the owner, although I've never met him. Food is decent, but I've only eaten there once and it was for burger week. The staff here is what takes the cake! Such friendly and chill staff, yet they are alert and they run a tight ship. Not that they're overly strict or anything, but things never get out of control and the people that need to be alert are always on top of everything. I've been going here for at least 8 years and will continue to be a happy patron here! Keep up the good work!!

This is my favorite music venue in Portland. Stage and sound is excellent! Upstairs seating area is nice with staggered rows so you have a great view. Staff is always nice. I will be looking forward to more events here.

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.

This review is strictly on the De Soto venue itself. It was a lovely space. Large enough for our 100 guests plus a 4-person gypsy jazz band and a dancing area. The terrace has a wood deck. There are trellis' and plants in big pots. White chairs and sunbrellas are available for use. The terrace was looking good already and then was transformed into a magical place by my florist, Adria Sparhawk of Lavish. The rooftop is about 4 floors up. It has a nice view of trees in the north park blocks as well as some of downtown Portland. Looking to the west, you have to look over AC equipment on the roof in order to see the trees. Adria came up with a great solution to that eyesore - she made gates out of willow and decorated them with vines and ribbon and placed these along the western railing. Problem solved! We had temps in the 90s. The roof was very hot with the sun beating down until it set over the west hills around 7 pm. After that, the temperature was perfect. If it is going to be a hot day, I recommend renting tents to add shade. We rented one 20x20 foot tent to cover the eldest and youngest. It looked fine and we could have used an additional one. There is no indoor space. Keep that in mind. The bathrooms are on the bottom floor so your guests will be up and down the elevator but that didn't seem to be a problem for anyone. The roof is wheelchair accessible. The entrance to the rooftop is on a pleasant block that has nice character. I'm taking a star off because of the AC eyesore, lack of indoor space and location of the bathrooms. Of all the rooftops and outdoor spaces I explored in Portland proper, the De Soto was the only one that met all my requirements. Still, I give 5 stars only if it's perfect!

We are half way through the FIRST SONG and THEN management starts pulling people out of the balcony (which was full by now) telling us it was RESERVED. What the absolute fuck. Not a single sign, no ropes, nothing. You've got, what, 60-80 plus people up there and you wait until THE SHOW STARTS??? Where were all the people with reservations for the balcony? No sign of a single one. So I'm asking, why wasn't there a sign on the stairs or at the entrance to the balcony? Why didn't the guy who was WORKING the upstairs say anything? And if, as the "manager" told me, we needed to have purchased balcony tickets, why wasn't there anything on the website that said "Balcony is sold out, these tix you are buying mean no seats."
