Good drinks, friendly bartenders, and one of the best fried chicken whether it's the Seahawks, Blazers, or Timbers you be watching.

One of the best places to catch a game and enjoy the comraderie or rivalry. Good drinks served by friendly bartenders, with one of the best fried chicken in town. Seahawks, Blazers, Timbers and all the games are on, even the 9ers.

Flowers and umbrellas all over the patio.

New management has taken this local dive bar out of the dumps! Amazing chicken basket, new patio and the staff was friendly. You never know who will walk in the door since it's right off the lightrail stop. I enjoyed watching a Timber's game there since they have lots of TV's, even outside. Don't miss this classic PDX spot that now has a new LOOK!

My knowledge of George's is that of a good dive bar, the best fried chicken in town (with Reel M Inn a close second) and really good burgers. I think that sums it up. After a nice seven mile bike ride up to Arbor Lodge, it was the place we wanted to stop for a beer or two and some good grub. It was a busy night at the bar because the Western Conference Finals were on and there seemed to be many OKC fans there to watch them beat the Warriors for game one. That wasn't expected when we walked in, and being that a sign at the bar states that fried chicken could take over an hour if the place was busy, fried chicken was not to be had on my first visit here. Oh well.... Burgers however, were a great choice. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger special with fries and my buddy got a cheeseburger with potato salad along with a couple of frosty beverages. The wait began. Even with burgers it took quite awhile to get the food but the food was worth the wait. This is not a "bar burger", this was a really good and large burger with all the fixins plus BBQ sauce that I asked for. It could have used a bit more bacon, because why not? But the burger was cooked perfectly and seasoned well, the cheese was thoroughly melted and the veggies were plentiful. The shoestring fries were crispy and there was an ample side of them. There was only one bartender for this busy night and she was all over the place, perhaps a second was needed because it took awhile to get drinks and to pay our tab at the end. She was friendly when we did get her attention. It's a nice place with many TVs and even a couple of video games and video poker plus a decent patio out back. I want to get back when it's not bust because I want to try some of best fried chicken in town. Enjoy.

Very cool little corner dive bar in the Arbor Lodge neighborhood of North Portland, stumbling distance from the Killingsworth light rail stop. I really dug this place for a bunch of reasons, in no particular order: 1) tons of friendly folks who were obviously regulars but who were completely happy to share their space, and it was a diverse crowd too--all shapes, sizes, races and ages. Awesome. 2) a pretty decent menu of bar food, along with a rather astonishing note on the wall that during busy periods, fried chicken orders can take 1 to 2 hours to make...I should hope that it's some mighty good fried chicken... 3) I ordered a quesadilla, and it was truly impressive. It was actually two quesadillas on medium-sized tortillas, and they were loaded with cheese and some veggies; they must have each been over half an inch thick. They don't cut any corners on their quesadillas at George's! 4) Super nice bartenders, although the bar is sort of horseshoe shaped with taps and bottles in the middle, and if you sit on the side furthest from the door, as I did, there's a good chance that the bartenders won't really be able to see you...you're sort of in the "obstructed view" seats back there. And of course they have sports on televisions and the standard assortment of games where you play golf and shoot deer and match keno numbers and stuff, but you don't care about that! You're here for the good company, dranks, and a super-fat quesadilla to hold you over while the chicken is frying. Make yourself at home!

Known by local North Portlanders for having the best fried chicken in town. Friendly atmosphere with a somewhat eclectic patronage.

The staff here is incredibly polite and friendly. Service is fast and easy. The place is generally very clean and it's a great atmosphere to watch a game on the multitude of screens. There are usually around a dozen beers on tap... the food menu is pretty limited and mostly just light bites. Parking is problematic because of the location. Definitely won't leave any valuables visible in this area. Otherwise, come for the beer and stay for the chance to take on your friends in a free arcade-style game of hoops!

The salad was one of my all time favorites - really delivered on the flavors. The pretzel was just a classic bar food, nothing special. Nachos, more or less the same, not as impressed but hit the bar food mark. I got the Safety Daisy drink which was really good. Menu: There were many vegetarian and vegan options to choose from and were noted as such on the menu which I really appreciate. Service: Service was attentive even when they were busy, we were served pretty quickly. Ambiance: Loved the "Spirit of 77" sign, which really added to the vibe. They had a few basketball hoops which was fun. I also enjoyed that they are a kid friendly place. One large screen and many small screens with live sports. Value: Definitely pricy for what you are receiving but I guess expected for being an establishment close to the arena.

The place feels like a neighborhood bar where you'd go to grab a beer and watch a game, maybe just hang out for an hour or two. They are still in the process of opening and so expect changes in the next few months. In the meantime, they have panini sandwiches than will run you $10 and complimentary popcorn. Right now they have less than 10 beers on tap (2 being N/A), but the offering should grow. - these run $4 to $6 for a pint. A small curated selection of drinks and beer are available for purchase to go (for there or to go) as well. For now they have the cheapest red bulls in all of Portland, only $2 for a cold red bull if you need a pickup at some point. The to-go options are still growing but, their prices are reasonable.

One of the owners came in and said some weird shit about not all of the televisions syncing properly. He turn off the game I was watching, and put on the football game (which all of the other tvs already had on). Even the people next to me said, "weren't you watching that game"? It was super rude. I've only been back one time since. It really soured my experience. Bummer. There are some great options in the neighborhood, so I'm spending my money and my time elsewhere now.
