I LOVE THE BARLOW! The bartenders are great. The food is great. They have a pool table, outdoor area with heaters and a solid 'Montana Bar' vibe. There are tons of bars in Portland, but if you want to feel like your treated like family... come to the Barlow!

At first it was extremely hard to pick a dish. Nothing really stood out. Perhaps because it was more one of each situation. Overall the food was great the taco shells were terrible. The beer wall was fun. The gm was nice on coming around and checking on us

Huevos Rancheros, Bloody Mary, and a coffee. Yum!

Had brunch at the Barlow Tavern today for the first time and was very pleased with the results. I can't believe I didn't try this sooner as I am only a couple blocks away. I had the huevos rancheros and took the cooks advice with getting my eggs sunnyside up. The egg yoke mixing in with the salsa, sour , and black beans was delicious. I also tried their bloody mary and enjoyed that as well. If you like your mary on the spicer side you should for sure get the jalapeno infused vodka. They have patio seating out front and also in back. The only thing I could do without are the creepy taxidermy animals that peer down on you from the walls. I will absolutely be back again. Thanks Barlow, you make a great addition to the neighborhood!

Pleasantly surprised by this very sketch looking bar on Greenly Ave near Adidas Headquarter. Despite not having a full array of alcohol, I still had quite a good time munchin' on their greasy fries and drinking PBR. Oh so classy.

Fried chicken basket - so delicious!

I really appreciate Barlow Tavern. The drinks are strong, the place is clean, and service is generally fast. And their food? Delicious! I've had their deviled eggs and fried chicken basket, both of which I'd recommend. Just to note, the flavor of their deviled eggs changes quite frequently. I've had their parmesan deviled eggs (so creamy and decadent) and I've also seen that they had bacon and jalapeno deviled eggs. But undeniably, their fried chicken basket is what really draws me to this place. For starters, it's boneless chicken. I was worried at first that it wouldn't be that flavorful without the bone, but I was wrong. Their chicken is moist and flavorful, and the breading around it is seasoned really well. To be honest, I crave Barlow's fried chicken quite a bit! I also like their shoestring fries that comes with the basket, though you can also get tots or a salad with your fried chicken. Oh, and make sure to drench your fries in their delicious fry sauce!

If this fit in my purse I might consider trying to sneak it out of the bar.

The ups: Amazing fried chicken, decent selection of whiskies, cheap drinks, clean tables, and my favorite painting. The downs: it's a bit hipsterish, with a high percentage of the patrons sporting skinny jeans and complicated facial hair, and Trivia Tuesday can get a bit crazy. Oh, and there's no table service, but I guess you can't have everything. All in all, I love this place.

So far so good. My couple times here I had a great time. Shaun (owns Vendetta, too) I came here for first time and drank a couple beers, the bartender was engaging and having so much fun with the small crowd. Made place seem exciting. Cozy, log cabiny, neighborhood feel. They installed a obligatory TV, understandable, but it's not taking over the whole vibe. Heard burger is great. have not had yet. Good hospitality-

More of your typical neighborhood bar kind of place. Friendly bartenders and they also have a good deal on Prime Rib on Mondays.

Forgive me, pictures of the food didn't happen because once we tried what we got, we were entranced. Jerry's nails the intersection of affordable but solid food that's delivered by a friendly face on a little paper boat. - The fries and cheese curds both genuinely surprised us! Jerry's nails a light crunchy exterior with soft interior on both. The fries sport a great seasoning blend & the cheese curds were so rich that a side order was plenty. Some of the better curds I've had. - The cheese burger with tavern sauce ($6 single, $10 double) was so enjoyable I got a second. It won't go toe to toe with specialty burger spots but it doesn't need to! It's so much cheaper that the value for the quality is excellent. - The buffalo wings ($11 for 6 or $19 for 12) were clearly an act of love here. A GREAT light crispy outside and perfectly spicy buffalo sauce made for wings you just didn't take a break from. Definitely go during a game if you're an IL/WI fan. If not, I highly recommend going anyway another time. The quick service, friendly staff, and warm "family" vibes of the lovingly-decorated bar make for a spot you just want to come back to

Parking in NW isn't the easiest but it says something that everyone in my group found parking within the same block. It is a pretty busy part of town, lots of foot traffic, and lots of traffic traffic. Buses and ambulances and police cars. It reminded me a bit of these old books I read as a kid, Richard Scarys Busy World (iykyk). Anyway, back to the bar - there is a decent amount of seating outside as well as indoors. The server promptly brought us menus and, although everything has to be ordered at the bar, he still comes by several times while we ate dinner and had drinks out front. My friends order Fish & Chips, and I'm told they are some of the best in the area. Everything was crispy and well seasoned. I got the taco salad with came with the house chili instead of taco meat - it is really pretty good! I even get a side of extra chippies to go with my meal. The portion was a little skimp, I think, considering most of this dish consists of lettuce. If only they would add more to it and turn this sucker into a big ole dish, this salad could be awesome! After placing my food order, I waited approximately 42 minutes and received nothing. During that time, I observed the cook outside smoking and drinking with guests while paying customers continued waiting for their orders. At that point, I requested a refund because it was obvious that serving customers was not a priority. The situation became even worse when the bartender attempted to process the refund. She was unable to print a refund receipt and, after I mentioned that I was familiar with the Toast system, actually asked me to come behind the bar and process the refund myself. Asking a customer to do an employee's job because staff do not know how to perform basic functions is beyond unprofessional. I then discovered that I had been charged for five drinks despite consuming only two. When I pointed this out, the bartender's response was that she "didn't know" because she had just started her shift. That answer is completely unacceptable. If your staff cannot accurately account for what customers are being charged, that is a serious operational problem and raises legitimate concerns about billing practices. As a property manager located nearby, I have spent years recommending your establishment to residents and visitors. Under the previous ownership, I regularly supported and promoted your business with you all providing me $20 gift cards to my new residents because it provided a positive experience. Unfortunately, based on what I witnessed during this visit, I can no longer do so in good conscience. Watching staff socialize and drink while customers wait nearly an hour for food, being overcharged for drinks I never consumed, and then being asked to process my own refund is one of the most unprofessional experiences I have had at any bar or restaurant.

They have a sense of humor, and I loved the "open" sign so much I took a picture. The bartender is gruff but gets the job done. They have some happy hour food plus different drink specials every day. After asking some questions and sampling both the frozen drinks available (this got the bartender talking about the ingredients), I decided on a full price $13 tropical slushie drink from the spinning machine. It was boozy and delicious, but not on special. Husband had a $7 pilsner. I ordered the Pharmacy burger, lettuce wrapped with sweet potato fries and I requested a side of ranch which never arrived. The burger was supposed to be $14 with a $2 add for sweet potato fries. We paid at the bar before seeing our meals, so when I went back and reflected on what I was actually charged ($18) it was clearly not the happy hour price. The lettuce wrapped burger was just a flabby standard commercial frozen patty of ground meat cooked on the flat grill, with one sad leaf of lettuce on the bottom and top. Disappointing and lacking flavor, at least there were pickles and sauce on the bottom. Do you sweet potato fries were clearly from a prefab frozen bag, waffle cut and fried till they were overly crisp and double cooked greasy. Without my ranch dressing to disguise them, short of sticking my head in the kitchen or bothering the bartender again, I suffered in silence. Husband had the buffalo wings $16 for ten, and they came with two blue cheese dressing cups. The wings are actually excellent, very crispy, not huge wings but with a clean bright buffalo sauce. Lesson here, come for the drinks and the wings! Pay attention to the daily specials on the chalkboard outside and go with that. Locals hang here playing pinball games, and I bet they draw a consistent crowd. But for me, the food needs to be better for me to return.
