I've consigned at the Shea location in Phx and never had any problems, but this was my first experience at the Bell road location and I won't be going back. I went in yesterday afternoon to consign some items only to read a sign on the door from management that said due to being backlogged from the weekend they wouldn't be accepting new consignments that day. I went inside anyway to ask if the consignment counter would be open tomorrow and they said it would be. I returned today to yet another sign on the door from management that said their consignment counter was closing at 2pm due to being short staffed (I arrived at 5pm. Insert eye roll emoji here). I walked in anyway and asked if they would be open tomorrow during normal business hours and they said they should be, which didn't give me much confidence. I figured I'd save myself the hassle of attempting to go back again tomorrow to potentially be turned away for a third time. In this case, two strikes and you're out. read more

Too much to go in to but the most despicable was this: in consideration of comparative pricing on other furnishings, they grossly underpriced a well-upholstered, flawless, excellent condition custom-made 72+ inch chaise lounger. THEN, No more than 14 days later it was sold on a day they happen to be having a 20% off sale. I wanted to reclaim my remaining items but couldn't find them anywhere in the store. Even though it is a consignment day and consignment hours, they are too busy. Are used to love coming here, no it's a total waste of my time and gas money. This is sometimes a nice option to make money off of your old clothes however their rule about every single thing needing to be on a hanger is absurd. when you're bringing in 40 items and you've used up all of your extra hangers and have about 10 sitting there in a box because again you have no more hangers left and they refuse to look at the items that aren't hung up... come on really??? I've spent time hanging up everything I could and bringing it to you and you're going to refuse to look at a few more items because all of my hangers are in use? I can't get over how ridiculous and inconsiderate this is to your consignors. I will start bringing my clothes somewhere where they aren't such sticklers about the hanger rule. UPDATE: 2/16/20 They still have the ridiculous hangar rule and to make things worse they are getting way pickier about what they take yet they're not actually taking really cute stuff. If you go look on their sales floor it's a ton of old lady stuff so it's basically not worth coming and shopping here anymore and DEFINITELY NOT WORTH YOUR TIME TO CONSIGN HERE. I'd say you'd have better luck somewhere else because if you take in 40 items they might take three. I don't bring in crappy stuff and most of it is still trendy yet they pass it up for old lady blouses and Walmart brand leggings. You can find a cute thing here or there but out of hundreds and hundreds of items you might find a few good things. Not good odds. read more

I have shopped here for many years and have always had a good experience. However over the last few months, prices are higher, and the staff is incredibly lazy and rude! I don't know if there's new ownership or what, but completely different attitude with the staff. Very disappointed with the overall experience and will most likely not return, or go to another location. Make some changes guys! read more

Beware of the selling policy. When I consigned the store associate said you could get your items anytime if you wanted to come in and get them. When I called to say I wanted to get what was left before they became the property of Turn Style the associate said I would have to pull the items, which was fine. Then when I went in to pull the items so I could donate a associate said they charged $1 per item if I took them. I did not read the fine print on the intake form because they never said anything about a charge. My mistake. All of my items were new and had tags on them and I got very little for them. I feel they are very unethical in business and not good at communicating at all. Find a different place to consign! read more

Please notice reviews from as far back as 6 years that comment on how horrible, rude, and unprofessional the staff is. I recently went in there twice. I spent over $1000. But the experience with every single employee was so horrible, I will never go there again. I witnessed them being terrible to other women as well. And there was never provocation from myself or others. I saw an 80 year old couple trying to load furniture. Not one staff member assisted. I am 71 and I helped them. I loaded out my own furniture as well. I could go on and on. The only reason they are still open is because they have low prices on many things and there is a big selection. DNOT GO THERE if you require any kind of respectful, uplifting experience with the staff. read more

I have consigned here for several years. Some reviews say the people who accept goods are picky. They may be, but I'd rather shop for decent goods than things I could buy at Target or Walmart for about the same price. I like the idea of a nice find, perhaps even a "steal" that is fun. I'm going to consign some more nice items, like an Escada jacket that I hope finds a good home at a fair price. My cheap t-shirts and jeans go to Goodwill or the rag bag! This is a consignment store where I have had good luck finding specific items. For the home and random one off shirt or jeans that still has tags on it. I am a minimalist and so finding something that I can buy from here but that is something that I really want and need makes me happy. I have tried to take things in on consignment but they are picky and I have had no luck with getting any money from that. That is more about me not having the right items to take in. Happy shopping! I have visited this store several times without much luck. As in any consignment or 2nd hand store, this is quite normal. You dont always find the perfect item when you visit and have to make several attempts before wondering if it is the store or the customer. After visiting this store several times, I happen to be there one day when this woman began screaming at her 3-4 yr old little boy. I hadnt noticed him doing anything out of the ordinary other than a few skips thru the store. After the woman ripped into this kid, out of the corner of my eye I saw his REAL Mother grab him and hurry him out of the store. The woman who was screaming at him was the store manager/cashier/clerk!!!!! When I saw this, I left and never went back. I have dealt with the general public in all of my jobs and there is a good way and a bad way to deal with these types of things. read more

I don't cosign here, but this is one of the locations I shop. I make sure to hit up all the clearance sales every season and can walk out with tons of clothes for so little money. They also do regular sales pretty consistently. I have found several party dresses here for a low price. I've bought several pairs of sneakers and shoes that have lasted me. They also have lots of furniture and home and decor items at a steal. Sometimes I've come out with one item and other times much more than one item. Stock is always updating and you never know what you will find. read more

I brought in a beautiful lamp with shade to this store. It was excepted and I was asked to set it on a table which I did. I collected my ticket. Wandered around the store for a while and left. Five days later I was asked to come pick up this lamp or it would be donated. I called and was told that they sell do not sell lamps without shades. I said the lamp had a shade. They argued with me and said basically not their problem. If they don't take lamps without a shade then why did they take mine if it had no shade? Speaking with the manager I was then told something must have been wrong with the shade and it was donated! So now I can pick up my lamp sans shade. Thanks for nothing! Do not trust these people with your goods! Totally bad experience hope you avoid them. LOL so I went to pick up my lamp and low and behold there was my shade on their shelf with a for sale tag. They were really aggressive when I pointed this out. So glad to be done with them. read more

This store *seems* like a good place to consign your old clothes, furniture, art, knick knacks, etc...if that is what you do for a living and are willing and able to come back to this place on at-least a weekly basis. They have a 25-item-per-day limit for selling, which I can only assume arose as a response to abusive customers but for a person from the other end of town who just stumbled upon the place on yelp after cleaning out the closets, it was kind of useless. Also they didn't take anything at all, so I have nothing to be excited about in that regard. If I have to make an appointment and come back another time because of how much I have to offer, then make a little effort to set up appointments for this thing. I'm coming to sell you things to make you money, turning away quality merchandise with a blanket-rule is not good business for a resale boutique. If you want to open an account and wait for your items to sell, you can get 45% of sale price in cash or 55% in trade. Otherwise they only offer 25% day-of for anything they do like. If you are coming as a customer, expect to pay about 50% of the highest-end retail price if the item were new. Not unfair in most regard, but some things I think were a little steep. I'm not going to make this a hate letter just because they didn't take anything of mine (like the brand-freaking new Anne Klein suit I had.) But I really have no reason or desire to return. Great place to bring the items you don't use anymore and make a little bit of money! I love shopping the blouse section of the store- I always find the cutest tops in that section!!! They definitely need more furniture and home decor but I've found a couple great things (like my dry bar) that are so unique and I am so thankful I bought them! Two years ago my partner & I located to the Phoenix/Scottsdale area for medical issues. Upon our arrival (pre-COVID vaccine) we found that Turn Style locations were open w/fabulous buys to suit our minimum furniture needs. This past August 2022 when the medical issues were resolved, we prepared to move back home. Our dilemma, living in a 3rd floor apartment (no elevator) was how to get rid of our beautiful furniture. I called Goodwill & other businesses to simply donate, but no one would climb the 3 flights...even for FREE furniture. On a whim, I contacted Lola, the manager of Turn Style at Tatum Point for possible consignment. She was so gracious & friendly... said she had a pickup service for a small fee & to take pictures of my furniture. Within a few minutes of viewing the pictures, Lola scheduled pickup for 3 days later. But listen to this...my items sold within 2 weeks for a little less than I paid 2 years earlier. I just can't thank Lola & her team enough for this unbelievable service & the $$$ I made ...and to think I was going to GIVE it away. Thank you Lola & Turn Style at Tatum Point!!!! read more

I have brought clothes to this location twice now. The first time thatI visited the store, I stood at the counter for a long time before in was Acknowledged. I got annoyed and asked the girl if she could see that I was waiting. She wasn't waiting on anyone at that time however she was working on sorting items. I carried everything in and then she told me that everything had to be on a hanger and ironed. The second time that I dropped off my clothes and offered to donate whatever they didn't take, I wasn't told that I could get me hangers back. When I went in today, I asked if I could borrow 5 hangers for the items that I had and mentioned that I realized I'm out of hangers because when I drop stuff off, I don't get the hangers back. So I asked if I could have gotten my hangers back and she said yes. No explanation , not unprofessional but not nice at all. So why couldn't I borrow hangers to hang up items? They have hundreds hanging there. I understand that there are systems in place for a reason but when they aren't explained it is frustrating. I won't be consigning or donating here anymore. I went in with my mom to go sell clothes on consignment and the lady that looked through our clothes was very rude and snobby. Everything my mom brought in was very high quality and up to date items and they took maybe 1/4 of what she had. Looking around the store (especially the jewelry) they had some very ugly items which no one would buy. The fact they didn't take most of our stuff blows my mind. Hopefully they go out of business. Right now they are having their Super Summer Clearance, so we loaded up on clothing and shoes for the family. Fall items are coming out also, so a good time to get started early on Fall. I was at Turn Style today and bought cute clothes to add to my Yoga Style. If you like Yoga, then look in their Fitness clothes as well as their regular clothes to find cute trendy styles to add to your wardrobe. I love stopping by here regularly to find everything I need for my wardrobe at a wonderful price. I also find great housewares here. I bought dishes today my family needed that are aesthetically pleasing at a fraction of the price of a specialty or fine department store. I always find the staff very nice and helpful. I have been shopping here for 3-4 years and love this location for a friendly welcome and great assortment of clothes, shoes, and housewares. I left items there to be sold and despite them being brand new with tags, they didn't sell so after a few weeks I decide to pick them up. One of my items, that retails for $160 at the store they came from was no where to be found. (I know this because when you pick up your items, they give you a print out of what you brought in and it's your responsibility to go thru the store and pick out your own items. Which I wasn't a fan of. You also have to pay them $1 for each item you take back. ) Apparently I'm just SOL because they aren't responsible for your stuff that you left with them, in their store, to manage and sell for you. How ridiculous is that? So someone can steal, rip, and break your stuff, and you get nothing because you trusted that until sold, them to not just consign your things but to also keep an eye on it while its there waiting to be sold. More than likely, I will not be dropping anything else off there for consignment. I could've just dropped it off somewhere else and made some money for my things instead of ending up loosing money because they lost or someone stole what I left there. read more

These people are a complete rip-off!! I've never been this upset ... I took in 4-ply cashmere sweaters, etc ... have had medical challenges, and was told there was a two hour intake wait. I went to my doctors appointment & did not make it back to this horrible place until the next day. I was told there was absolutely nothing they could do & that all of my clothes had been donated. I've called both donation centers & they have not received donations, nor have they sent any trucks out for pick up. THE GIRL I JUST SPOKE WITH TOLD ME MY CLOTHES (ALL OF THEM!!) WERE DONATED BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO FULL TO TAKE ANY MORE ITEMS!! Why wasn't I told this when I dropped off?!?! DO NOT EVER GO HERE!! My suggestion ... My Sister's Closet. Nothing but great intake (immediately) and MUCH better inventory than this TurnStyle Rip Off!! BTW - They told me they only donate to Sojourner & Bosom Buddies ... neither one works with them. Apparently they need to already be on hangers **** My high end dresses and designer clothes will find a happier home somewhere else . I am a business owner so I know if you have requirements there are much better ways to handle situations , an example ; saying hello first to a customer might be a start . Never been before so I thought I would give it a try. Most of my stuff was destined for Goodwill/shelters, etc, so why not see if there was anything of real value. My complaint isn't with the concept nor the money I may or may not make in the end but rather the poor service. First, I walked into the front door (without my stuff) and asked where I should bring everything in. I was quickly and a bit rudely told to take everything around back. As if I should have cosmically known that already (remember, my first visit) even-though there's not a sign to be seen directing people to the back of the building. Second, when I did get around back I asked if I could borrow a clothes rack to bring in my items. (I had called ahead and was told that 35 was the max so making several trips seemed burdensome) I was told I could borrow one by the young women who was behind the counter. When I returned with all of my stuff a manager quickly scolded me that those carts were to never leave the building and that next time I couldn't use one. My immediate response was to fire back at her that perhaps she needs to do a better job of training her staff - but I withheld my comment (didn't want to lower the value of my items based on my interaction) So, I'll write a review online and let them sell what they kept and never go back to this store. They only took 10 or so items, so the rest are going to a mens' shelter. I was a bit surprised, so I asked and was told that they are not interested in items that are three years old or older. Good news for the shelter I guess...someone will end up with Liz Claiborne and Ralph Lauren suits! There are so many consignment stores in Ahwatukee and the surrounding areas that I don't need to go here! read more

I actually found a lot of clothing items that still had the original tags on them. Very cute and adorable clothes. Same with some of the shoes, many of them looked brand new. Also, they separate things within a size by color, another convenience I like when shopping. The clothes aren't so jam packed you can't find anything. Pricing was moderate for consignment. My only real complaint is the staff don't seem involved with helping the customers. Two of them sat and talked at the intake for the consignment counter while I had to wait at the check out counter that wasn't manned. They finally paused their conversation to yell at a girl hanging up clothes that she needed to check me out. read more

I had more than 25 items high end handbags the staff wouldn't bother look at them after cherry picking my first batch of best outfits, I live far from this store and can't make a trip a day in this heat just to have my stuff scattered and rejected. The unfriendly employee who checks and prices the items went through the neat boxes I brought my shoes and jewelry in like a tsunami, left unwanted items in a mess. I'm in Phoenix indefinitely to help my dad out while he undergoes radiation treatments at Mayo Clinic; was originally planning to be here for only a week, but due to the aggressive nature of my dad's tumor, my stay has now gone to a month and counting! Needless to say, I only brought 4 changes of clothes...sigh/groan! So thank God, Turn Style came to the rescue with their fantastic selection of gently used clothes and great location (across the street from my family's temporary apartment complex)! I was able to find a cool short sleeve button-up Penguin sport shirt, a cool H&M short sleeve button-up shirt, a pair of Adidas warm up pants, and a pair of sweat-proof khaki cargo shorts that don't need ironing...all for about $37!!! I saw a few more things I want to go back for (like a John Varvatos long sleeve 2-pocket casual shirt, Bobby Jones golf shirt, a Hollister polo shirt etc.), so looks like I'm hooked on this place big time!!! The place is filled with cool clothes & shoes (for men, women & kids), furniture, wall decorations (paintings, etc.), plates (and complete plate settings), cups, tea pots, etc. They play cool retro 70s and 80s tunes overhead plus the staff is very helpful and friendly! read more

Once in a while, you might have a good experience, but most of the time it's not worth the effort due to the poorly trained staff. Consignment process is awful! Today I brought in four items and was told there was a 15 minute wait, so I waited. A half an hour later I asked if she was done and she said no, that I was the next one up. I asked about their annual sale and was told it just ended for summer. I asked when it occured and the associate answered "Like in January". I told her January was NINE months ago. Her response was "Oh, well, I like don't like remember but it's like over". I looked around for another 20 minutes and checked in again. I saw three employees discussing whether or not they thought a pair of jeans were cute, a manager who left for break and still, the girl who thought January just happened was working on the intake customer before me. I told her I had been there over an hour and asked how much longer it was going to be and her response was "well, like the time is like an estimate". 15 minutes later she finished with my four items and took one. I won't bother consigning here again. As for shopping here, most of the clothing was only appropriate for high school students, of poor quality and the store is disorganized. Clearly the teenagers who work there don't understand sizing since I found Chico's tops size 2 (which translates to a Large) in the "Plus size" section. All in all, just not worth my time. read more

I am beyond frustrated and humiliated after my experience here today. Last week I spent over $200 on clothes for a new job and today I went to go return some of them because I am no longer going to be working at that job. I brought in my clothes with the tags still attached and I had the receipts which state I have 7 days from the day I purchased my clothes to return them. I bought them on the 3rd and today is the 9th. The girl at the counter said she would have to talk to her manager because she didn't know if she could take the clothes because it had been too long. I told her today is the 7th day, I have through today to return the. Another employee with a bandanna on her hair came up and said she doesn't believe they can take them back. EDIT: HER NAME IS LOLA I pull out my calendar on my phone to show them that according to this receipt, I have until today to return my clothes. She said I have to include the day I bought and I kept trying to tell her that this did! She then rudely walked away from me as I was trying to explain and went to talk to someone else she worked with across the store. Then she proceeded to literally shout across the store to me "NO WE CAN"T TAKE THEM!". At this point I'm completely offended by the way she was behaving, given she is older than me and was acting like a brat not wanting to talk to me. The girl she had spoke with came walking over to me and asked me what the problem was. I told her word for word " I am not trying to make anyone's job here difficult, I just want to return these clothes and the receipt says I have 7 days from the day of purchase to return this clothes. Today is the 9th I bought them on the 3rd." I then showed her my calendar as well. She then said "it's fine" and finally took my clothes to give me a refund. You could tell she was annoyed as well. My boyfriend asked the girl if the woman we spoke to before was a manager and she said yes. He then asked her if she talks to her team the way she was talking to us and the girl asked "what do you mean?" as if she had no idea what just happened moments ago with the lady yelling at us. At this point I just wanted to get my gift card and go, I was on the verge of tears at how awful I was treated for their misunderstanding of their own guidelines on the receipts. I would maybe understand her acting that way had I been rude or belligerent about returning my clothes but I hadn't done a single thing wrong nor did I make any rude comments or gestures. I am really upset that this store doesn't give cash refunds because I don't ever want to come back again or give money to this company after today. I have a gift card that I'm stuck with now and it's unfortunate that I have to eventually come back and get clothes to make use of the money I was returned. read more
