Turmeric Indian Restaurant - Bold Flavors and Custom Spice Levels Had an amazing lunch at Turmeric Indian Restaurant! The Vegetable Samosa was flavorful, while the Dahi Kebab was smooth and well-seasoned. Loved the variety of sauces, especially the creamy yogurt sauce and the tangy, slightly sweet one. The Chicken Tikka Masala was rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced. I ordered the shrimp dish super spicy, as per my request and they delivered--it was fiery and absolutely delicious! The ability to customize spice levels made the meal even better. Ending the meal with dessert and tea. Great food, attentive service, and a cozy ambiance--highly recommend for authentic Indian flavors!

BYOb, Solid meal, great prices, authentic music plays in the background, walls and decor has an Indian flair. Very busy at 7:30 on a Saturday night, highly recommend reservations. I've had better Indian food at another place in Teaneck but overall we had a nice dinner. Two chicken entrees were described as having different sauces but they tasted exactly the same. I suggest passing up the chicken Pot stickers app, they were nothing special. The eggplant chat appetizer was good but not what the menu described. The garlic naan and butter naan were both good. We liked them because they were less filling and thinner than some others naans we've had.

Amazing food experience we had! We went on a Friday evening and enjoyed the music and live piano performances! Such performances definitely elevate the experience. In starters, we ordered zucchini chaat and dry paneer chill. The zucchini chaat was delicious!!! I would visit this place just to have this again. Main course we ordered egg fried rice, Hakka noodles and chilli paneer Manchurian. Everything was outstanding! After a long time, we found a good place serving amazing Indo Chinese food in NJ. The fried rice and Hakka noodles did transport us back to Indian street side food experience. The service was quick and amazing. The staff were attentive and friendly, kept checking if we are doing ok.

Solid Indian food in the Ridgewood area. Got takeout and the food was quite good. We ordered a butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, goat kadai, and some naan. Prices aren't cheap, but the portion size is decently big. Three entrees were more than enough to feed a family of four.

What a great find! Parking was a tad hard to find, but they're well worth it. I was surprised how tasty all the dishes were- my favorite was the lamb vindaloo- it had a kick! The portion sizes were generous and the owner came to speak to us for a bit- super friendly guy! The menus are electronic which made it easy to view all the dishes as they also had a video preview of what to expect. Great spot and the prices were fair. I'll be coming back here, but also tons of take out orders were also coming in which is always a good sign too.

Takeout order out of the bag. Everything is well packed and marked.

TAKEOUT/PICK-UP REVIEW: Our team of four at work splurged on a holiday lunch from Turmeric in Ridgewood. We placed a pick-up order to bring back to the office. It was easy to order online and the estimated wait time for pick up was relatively short for a Friday. All the food was delicious! Here is what we ordered for family-style sharing: - zucchini chaat (my coworker's rec that was my favorite appetizer) - butter naan (these are HUGE pieces!) - chicken samosa (samosa come with green and brown chutneys) - vegetable samosa (the veggie ones have a nice kick to them) - chicken korma (our group's favorite entree) - butter chicken (my order as I rarely get to have non-veg Indian: I enjoyed it) - chicken tikka (we ordered mild for the group; next time, I would get medium spice) - rack of lamb masala (a chef special; I really liked this dish - it had 3 pieces of lamb on the bone in a rich, flavorful sauce *drool*) All the entrees came with basmati rice. One of the rice containers had garlic and saffron; this was so good (I could have eaten just this as my meal). Everything was packed securely with no spillage and was clearly marked, which is very helpful when ordering for a large group. In short: Great experience ordering takeout/pick-up from Turmeric, and the food is delicious. I would order from them again, and recommend Turmeric to others!

They advertise a 10% discount for ordering on their website when in fact, they added 10% extra charge to your order.
Amy B.

Website advertises 10% discount when you order through their webpage but when you look at the check out, they actually added 10% extra charge. I called the restaurant to make them aware of this and the gentleman who answered the phone blew me off and told me that I was wrong and refused to help me place an order over the phone . Beware of their scam.

Can't say enough great things about Turmeric Indian Bistro. Great place for big parties. The atmosphere is on the dim side to create that romantic ambiance. However, I usually come here with a larger crowd and usually take the larger table in the back. Usually when we go it's quiet and we're usually the louder crowd. 6 kids and all. They don't mind and they still provide amazing amazing service. They don't mind how long we stay and never try to rush us out. Love that feeling. The food...man it is so good. We normally get the butter chicken for the kids, chicken korma for my wife and I and a bunch of garlic naan. By far the best in the area. Anyone that says otherwise I'd say they don't know good Indian food. I believe they have live music during Friday nights or Saturday. Double check on that. Can't say enough great things about turmeric. We definitely come here at least once a month. You might even catch us here.

I ordered here for delivery. I ordered the chicken Korma and it came with basmati rice and I also ordered garlic naan. This food was sooooo good! The containers were tightly sealed so there were no spills in the bag it was delivered in. I asked for utensils when I placed my order and that was not included in my bag but it was really good nonetheless.

That was a sophisticated quiet lounge space with chill modern music and dark lighting and a host that was professional and effective. the food was incredible. however despite the sign in the window now, this isn't tashan. Gone is the calm and conducive atmosphere and now it's brightly lit, vibrating at times with loud Indian music and not the same. My last 45 minutes spent there had a host or manager basically yelling into the phone in the dining area 10 feet from me so loudly that the kindly waiter volunteered an apology because they were catering the next day. i actually had said nothing but that's how loud this guy was on the phone. i was the only diner. on a saturday night. All of these while mildly unpleasant details aren't why i'm not returning. it was the food. tashan's chicken tikka marsala had huge succulent cubes of chicken and quite a few immersed in a creamy incredible sauce. Now? Half the portion with six or seven stringy chunks of chicken in bland sauce. the enormous saddle size Naan of Tashan? Now it's the same size but this bread was lukewarm, flat, thin and bland. Samosas? Also not very tasty and were doughy. And the mango lassi with a thin cardboard straw took forever to suck out of the cup as it was medicine thick but was ok i guess. it saddens me to know an eatery that was so top notch is gone. Cook recently left - host returned to India. all good things come to an end.

It was minced Crab meat, instead of Crab with shell, and I felt it tasted more like imitation crab than Blue Crab. I would still give them the benefit of doubt for that. I requested a booth, but it wasn't honored. When we walked in there was only 1 other couple and we were sat by the window where it was super cold. They definetly failed to mention this as there were 2 parties that came in and walked out after knowing it was a pre fixed menu. The makhni sauce was too tangy, chocolate mousse wasn't great and seemed completely like store bought jars. The naan is huge, but it was thin and not the fluffy tandoor naan type. The kale chaat was just ok. They added a $25 service charge on top of the ridiculous high prices for a pre fixed meal.

Waiters took our orders quick but once the food came? We had to ask twice for more Sangak Bread since we ordered 3 different hummus. And originally only came with maybe 5 pieces of bread total which def wasn't enough for a party of 5 and 3 big plates of hummus. THE DRAMA- A waitress or the owner? She was holding a plate that I assume was my stew and I said that's mines and she automatically said no it's not mines...hmm ok my fault...yet turns out it was mines...she wasn't the person who took my order yet assumed it wasn't mines nor asked "did you order Gheymeh Bademjoon?" I found that off putting but shrugged it off, maybe I was just starving from not enough bread for all that hummus which was freaken delicious. We had a few main entrees and everything was tasty and def authentic with all those unique flavors. I did put the hummus over my rice for extra flavor, didn't want to toss them out. Overall it's a good spot, one of a kind of flavors you don't have often. My group left full but not exactly satisfied? Oh it's also a BYOB place. Not sure I would go back though.
