Bombay Hut in Waldwick, NJ. This take out/delivery Indian restaurant is special! Everything is made to order and you can smell the delish Indian flavors once you walk in. Now serving Indochinese food-it's fun to try something new and exciting on the menu. Make sure to check out the weekend specials! The classic Indian dishes are full of flavor and made fresh to order. Cost me $60 the Pints were more sauce than chicken. Just Disappointing. Let's seee if they call me baxk.

They charged $60 for the below which is highway robbery. The pint containers were more sauce than chicken. Don't get me wrong their food is really good, but they should be charging $60 for two pint containers and a nan bread. Had I know that was all that was in there I would have left the bag on the counter and walked out. I tried to call owner and was told they were not in and they come when they can. Left a message now let's see if they call back.

The food was fine but the prices are quite high. This isn't just an issue with Bombay Hut so not singling them out. If you want to get lunch for yourself no problem but getting takeout for the family will be costly. I ordered four chicken curry entrees and two samosas and it was a little over $140.

Great takeout only Indian in Bergen county. Food was delicious. First time having indo-Chinese and it did not disappoint. Try the avocado shake, it's amazing!

The Service here is not just poor, it is NON-EXISTENT! Expect to sit a good solid 25 minutes before anyone steps up and at that point they are in a big rush to take your full order. How about opening our wine bottles first? Or asking if we have any questions. This is a BYOB and when it is this painful to get a bottle opened, you resort to bringing your own corkscrew as I did last night - problem solved ( with the exception of not being able to get wine glasses for another 15 minutes or so.) It seems the only person who hustles here, is the guy that works the front end and appears to be the owner. He should not have to do double and triple duty because the wait staff is awful. The once great food has changed as well. This was hands down the best Vindaloo I ever had, but this time there was NO spice at all! And the portion was reduced as well, I counted 3 pieces of Lamb and one measley sliced in half potato. And, it was a Saturday night and 3/4 empty, which speaks volumes. And the crack wait staff couldn't even keep up with this low volume. I won't be back.

The restaurant definitely delivers on that image -- great decor, linen-covered tables, table lighting, and a cozy, even romantic atmosphere. What didn't match the setting was the music. It was pumping the entire time like you were in a club, similar to the music during peak hours at the last Indian wedding I attended. It didn't fit the kind of quiet dining experience the space seems designed for. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the menu is extensive with plenty of options -- chicken, lamb, goat, seafood, and vegetarian dishes. We started with the calamari cochin, which was excellent. It came out hot and crisp, coated in a flavorful sauce, and felt like a unique take compared to typical fried calamari. For entrées we ordered eggplant bharta and goat curry with tandoori naan. We clearly asked for the eggplant medium spicy and the goat spicy hot, and the server repeated it back correctly. Neither dish had any heat. Instead, we were given a small bowl of chopped peppers to add ourselves, which isn't the same thing. The eggplant initially tasted good but became overly smoky as the meal went on. The goat curry was tender and nicely cooked. Unfortunately, as we continued eating we both started feeling increasingly queasy, so something clearly wasn't sitting right. In the end it was a mixed experience for us and not a place we plan to return to. Lastly, it's BYOB and there's no credit card fee!

There's a huge assortment of appetizers and they tend to make me full before I dive into the entrees! My favorite appetizers are the Pani Puri shots - crunchy and a pop of saucey flavor! I also loved the Fish Amritsari- it was fried with a nice crust but still so juicy and flakey inside! I love the various dishes, sauces and curries for entrees and it's hard for me to choose my favorite - if I had to, I would choose the Vegetable Biryani because of the nice bread crust on the top and the hot flavorful rice inside! I will definitely recommend that you try the Atom Bomb - chocolate cake with strong rose flavored ice cream - such a great combo! I requested a booth, but it wasn't honored. When we walked in there was only 1 other couple and we were sat by the window where it was super cold. They definetly failed to mention this as there were 2 parties that came in and walked out after knowing it was a pre fixed menu. The makhni sauce was too tangy, chocolate mousse wasn't great and seemed completely like store bought jars. The naan is huge, but it was thin and not the fluffy tandoor naan type. The kale chaat was just ok. They added a $25 service charge on top of the ridiculous high prices for a pre fixed meal.

That was a sophisticated quiet lounge space with chill modern music and dark lighting and a host that was professional and effective. the food was incredible. however despite the sign in the window now, this isn't tashan. Gone is the calm and conducive atmosphere and now it's brightly lit, vibrating at times with loud Indian music and not the same. My last 45 minutes spent there had a host or manager basically yelling into the phone in the dining area 10 feet from me so loudly that the kindly waiter volunteered an apology because they were catering the next day. i actually had said nothing but that's how loud this guy was on the phone. i was the only diner. on a saturday night. All of these while mildly unpleasant details aren't why i'm not returning. it was the food. tashan's chicken tikka marsala had huge succulent cubes of chicken and quite a few immersed in a creamy incredible sauce. Now? Half the portion with six or seven stringy chunks of chicken in bland sauce. the enormous saddle size Naan of Tashan? Now it's the same size but this bread was lukewarm, flat, thin and bland. Samosas? Also not very tasty and were doughy. And the mango lassi with a thin cardboard straw took forever to suck out of the cup as it was medicine thick but was ok i guess. it saddens me to know an eatery that was so top notch is gone. Cook recently left - host returned to India. all good things come to an end.
