We bought a house with a 50' tall enormous stone pine tree in the yard. I called out 4 tree companies to estimate, and the prices fluctuated wildly. When Scott came out he told me his crew was the best in the business. He was the only guy who could promise the tree would come out in one day. His price sat in the upper middle of the quotes. He said doing it with a crane was the safe and smart decision based on the size of the canopy and how far back it sat from the street. He was 100% right. His guys showed up at 7:30 am sharp, and had it down and ground the stump by 2:30. 60 tons of wood. They also took out and ground the stump of half a cherry tree we burned two chainsaws on, and took out some yucca bushes and a rose bush without requesting extra. This experience went according to plan, no property damage occured, and I am 100% satisfied with the outcome. These are the best tree guys in Tracy, period. read more

Like a lot of folks who conserved during the last drought, our lawn (which was mostly weeds) was destroyed. I was embarrassed to invite family over. Our yard looked terrible. We got a card from a Turf-N-Tree employee trimming our neighbor's tree for a very reasonable price. So my husband called and spoke with Oscar about putting in a drought-tolerant dry scape. We worked with both Scott and Jeri, owners of turf and tree. And their wonderful crew. We needed both our front and back yards redone from the housefire. Initially from the beginning they were both very professional, thorough and helped guide us through the entire process of redoing our yards. Turf n Tree also does fences and retaining walls too! Scott and his crew have done some palm tree trimming for me in the past, and so when I needed to replace the 75' wooden fence and wooden retaining wall being pushed out due to the queen palm root system (bad planning by the original owners), my mind immediately went to Turf n Tree. After several bids from local contractors, I realized that there was a fear and lack of confidence they all had due to these trees. None of them would guarantee: 1. The queen palms wouldn't fall over after the current retaining wall was removed. 2. The new wood retaining wall would contain the roots long enough to not have to revisit this problem in a couple of years. Oscar from Turf n Tree came by and we talked about options. There was clearly a higher degree of experience and knowledge I got from Oscar. After he understood my concerns about strength and longevity of the fence/gate & retaining wall, he suggested a retaining wall system using interlocking stones by McNear. He walked me through how the entire job would go step by step. Then he wrote up a couple of different quotes, sent them to me electronically, and left me with a clear understanding of what my options were. It took Oscar & his crew about 5 & 1/2 days of hard work (rain & shine) to complete this job. There was no time wasted and they kept the job site as clean as possible throughout. There was clear communication by Oscar during the job, so I always knew how their progress was going and if there needed to be any changes. They also had to contend with my uncooperative neighbor barking orders at them for encroaching 1/4" on his property line with a fence slat. They took this in stride like professionals. In the end, I was left with a gorgeous 75' long redwood fence + gate sitting atop a 26" high Merlot style versa-lok McNear stone retaining wall system that is sure to last for many years to come & be the envy of the neighborhood :) He even up sold me on adding black lava stone and fountain grass in front of the wall - which compliments his handy work quite well I might add. I am a very particular person & I literally could not be happier with the outcome of this project! These guys do exceptional work and take pride in their craft. This was an expensive project for me and something that weighed heavily on my mind while saving up for and planning it. As far as their work they did, it was good. But there is a much serious situation. A price was agreed upon to cut the tree low. Today instead of informing my daughter that the agreement cannot be met they continued to work on that tree until I realizeed they weren't going as low as they were supposed to. my daughter asked why and according to one of the individuals he said the city wouldn't allow them to. So why did they not inform us before continuing tenuine? 1. that violates the agreement, so they owe us money for not doing what they agree to on that price on that price. 2.
