Just over a year ago we moved into a new home. It was a blank canvas for us. This included unfinished back and side yards. Not huge mind you but enough. We wanted to create a special place to relax and enjoy ourselves. In the course of my research a local landscape design business stood out. This was Traina Thought Landsacpes. It was almost too easy. They were everything we wanted. Their IG was impressive. Great reviews. So we were all in. And what a great decision. Jason and Kellen Traina are amazing. And just as amazing are their crew - foreman Jason, Haiden, and Shawn. Truly craftsmen. Start to finish the project was enjoyable and exciting. We worked with Jason to bring our vision to life. His enthusiasm and knowledge made us feel confident about our choices. It became a shared vision. He took time to show us materials, make suggestions, and work through revisions of our plan until it was right. Kellen kept us on track. She is my favorite emailer ever! Always cheerful and positive. Both Kellen and Jason worked with our budget to make it all happen. Our humble weed-choked patch of earth became our oasis. We now have two amazing water features, lovely drought tolerant plantings, and a unique sophisticated yard that could be featured in any landscape design showcase. Jason got our vision on paper and it was Traina's tremendous team that brought it to life. Foreman Jason along with Haiden and Shawn amazed us every day with what they accomplished. Day by day they transformed our space. They are super nice guys, very considerate, and truly craftsmen. The entire Traina team changed our lives for the better. We feel that it's worth the money and time to engage Traina Thought Landscapes. For a unique and personal space its worth the investment. I had a front yard scraped off and designed by Traina Thought Landscapes. The design was executing exactly how it was designed. I enjoyed the workers thoughtfulness of being responsive and tidy throughout the process. They were super tidy and detail oriented. I couldn't be more pleased with the finished project. read more

I would not recommend Traina Thought Landscaping as they didn't seem interested in my business, which may be due to the scope of the project not being within their large budget clients. It was very difficult to get in tough with them and then I finally gave up from the last non response. They also required a 50% deposit, which should always raise a red flag from a con man. read more

Where do I begin... Jason and Kellan are a joy to work with. They are reliable, honest, and dependable! They truly made our backyard dreams come true. From start to finish... even with other jobs going on we always felt top priority. I sent them a few pictures from Pinterest and explained my "vision" and Jason just got it! I believe we only changed one thing, everything else stayed the same. He truly listened to our wants and needs when it came to a functional yet breathtaking backyard for our family and friends to grow and make memories in. It has been a couple months since job completion and I think the most exciting part is watching all the plants and trees take shape and blossom! We just love our redesigned backyard. Thank you Kellen and Jason, you made it happen. From the very start, they were attuned to what our needs and wants were. Using their professional, landscape design service, made it easier for us to see our ideas come to life. Communication was always open and ongoing. Their knowledge and expertise were evident in the final results of the conceptual plan. The plants, trees, and hardscape that were suggested, fit perfect with our vision. Of course, drought-resistant, native to our area, and low maintenance. Jason and his experienced team worked diligently on executing the plan. We had a complete make-over including demolish of concrete, removal of old sprinkler system, and dead grass. Next came the drip system, paver walkway, and 'never mow again' grass laid, and an AWESOME fire pit built. Trees, flowering plants, ornamental grasses, rocks, and crushed granite finished off the project. Ta Da! Our drab backyard was transformed into our fab haven. My husband and I recently purchased our home here in Tracy CA and are so excited about making this "our" home. We have always liked the idea of outdoor living spaces. Our back yard went from an unusable mess of weeds and hot flagstones to a beautiful, comfortable patio with seating and drought-tolerant greenery. We love it! We go outside more in one week than we did in 10 years before. Our side yards had been gathering water which was seeping up into the house, and the Traina's fixed it, sloping it properly and adding plenty of drainage. We used Traina Thought Landscapes to replace some old landscaping in our back yard. The on-site team was incredibly fast in demo-ing the old yard and installing a beautiful new lawn. They also updated our sprinkler system and took extra time to demonstrate how to make changes to the watering programs. In April my wife and I moved to a home in Lathrop which we were both anticipating with excitement. It was a new home which made it even more exciting, but with that came the reality of a backyard that was entirely dirt! We are both retired so the idea of having to plan and contract that part of our dream home was something we were not looking forward to. Plus, we wanted to get a yard in prior to the winter rains coming because we have pets. We are both happy to say we found TRAINA THOUGHT LANDSCAPING! When we initially met with them, the owner, Jason, came over with clipboard in-hand. He asked questions, took notes and listened to both my wife and I on our ideas and suggestions. Jason also had many great suggestions as well which we ended up going with. The process had begun. He came back to us with a computer generated detailed plan of our yard, with plant suggestions, stone suggestions (we used exclusively pavers in our yard for the hardscape) plus many other ideas. The design went back and forth a couple of times - was approved and the work began. The landscapers showed up on that first day of work with enthusiasm! (and on time!) It was such a great group of guys. They followed the plan to a tee and if myself or my wife had questions they were answered. Their communication through this whole process was terrific both with the landscapers themselves and also through the back office. We did have a couple of changes along the way which we had no trepidation asking for because we both felt comfortable working with the team. The project was finished on time and we could not be happier with it! They followed the plan exactly as was presented to us and also handled all of the permits required (we had a gas fire-pit installed). If you are looking for professionalism, great design and a group that is easy to work with, you found your place. I would not use anyone else. Now I'm thinking about the front yard! read more

Kellen and Jason are true professionals and I have to mention super nice as well. From taking measurements in my front and backyard to producing a great design plan. They went above and beyond to work with the budget I had. Their construction crew was very courteous and when the job was done, cleaned up to perfection. They also installed a new timer which is easy to program. Kellen even came by several weeks later with a bag of grass seeds for some of the spots suffering from our extremely hot summer. She brought a sprinkler head and showed me exactly how to adjust the spray. All in all they are fantastic to work with and I will definitely use them again for future projects.
