Marcelino and his team did a great job trimming an oak tree in my backyard. They were friendly, efficient, and professional.

I unfortunately did not have a good experience with Marcelino and his team. It started off great when he knew they had a big money job coming when I had them cut down and grind stumps on a good amount of large trees. Marcelino was responsive at first until the the job was complete. They did break my sprinklers and bumped into my water system but they were able to repair it the same day. One of the workers also broke my outdoor exercise machine as they were fooling around on it. I let these 2 things slide. What I found out later was that they did not complete the job. They were supposed to grind some stumps but buried it with all of the mulch instead hoping I wouldn't find out. This is when I attempted to get a hold of Marcelino to which he ignored me A LOT. I've remained extremely polite through this process but he still brushed me off continuously and did not pick up any of my phone calls. After letting him know that he will be seeing me in court, he finally responded and sent a guy to finish the job and offered to do some more work that day for free. Then they NO SHOW me not once, but TWICE on appointments. I've taken work off to make sure I was home for them to come which was a complete waste of my time and money. When one of his guys finally shows up with the minimum amount of equipment to do that single job, none of the extra free work promised was delivered. He then disappears after I show him the work he needed to do. So I texted Marcelino again to see where he went to which he said he needed to fill up gas. This I understand but where is the communication? It almost felt like he ran away because he found out he wasn't getting paid for this particular job. After he was done, I continued to try to get a hold of Marcelino for the work that his guy promised but couldn't deliver due to the lack of equipment but Marcelino has ignored me ever since. Anyway, I can go on forever about this business but I'll wrap it up - I'm giving them 2 stars, added one because they actually completed the job after me having to chase them down. But to summarize the way these guys do business: unprofessional, scammy, dishonest, greedy, and horrible communication. I do not like to leave these kinds of reviews for businesses, but I feel that people need to know. Be cautious when dealing with Marcelino and his team. read more

Marcelino has been awesome. I first found him on Yelp and was getting quotes from others. I could tell he was enthusiastic and enjoyed what he was doing and wanted to do the work! Because of that I hired him. He not only delivered on our first giant pine tree that covered our beautiful home but I called him back a second time to remove another one and 3 other dying trees that were left from previous owners. Marcelino's team shows up on time, does a thorough job from cutting, to grinding and cleanup. The first time his grinder wasn't working and true to his word they came back with a working grinder in a week and finished the work. I like that I dont have to follow up with him and they just get the work done! I am so impressed I had to review today. They just left lol Our front yard tree was blown over by the strong Central Valley winds that have been kicking our butts this season. It wasn't a super huge tree or very old, but had been planted during a new build construction about 1 1/2 ago- young but had grown to about 15 Ft tall with many top heavy branches. Found it down after a blustery night. We had no time or extra hands to help us put it up and didn't want it to die waiting for us, so after research contacted BTC. Marcelino answered right away, and after sending him pictures he was able to give a very reasonable quote right away. Could've gone either way: save the tree or remove it, but we really wanted to save it, as long as it was safe. And if you know how much trees this size cost, you'd probably try to save it too! His crew came over within a half hour, checked it out, trimmed a lot of the branches, and had it back up within 15 minutes. It was a huge relief! In February 2024, the owner Marcelino, personally cut a large log off my oak tree, which was sitting on the side of a steep hill. He had no one helping him which was a big mistake. The heavy 4-foot-long log rolled down the hill and crashed into my neighbor's hardscape. After inspecting the damage together, Marcelino agreed to take financial responsibility, which turned out to be $325. I sent Marcelino a copy of the receipt and followed up several times but with no response. Who would put their business reputation in jeopardy for this small amount of money? Don't Hire! Good value, but absolutely no customer service. They didn't finish my tree trimming job to my satisfaction. Very careless and unprofessional crew. DAMAGED PROPERTY ~ Broke several path lights and tree limb brought down about 1/4 of my Christmas lights. Let me start off by saying this project was not an easy one.. and yet Marcelino and his team handled it flawlessly. We just purchased a new home and in our backyard was a massive Pine Tree that had been neglected for years and was spread across four different yards. He didn't try to rip us off, or give an unrealistic timeline of how long the project was going to take. Oscar showed up today with a couple of helpers and they did an amazing job! I have had this large Blue Robe Locust tree trimmed several times and it has never come close to looking this good. Marcelino, who seemed to be the owner, was very easy to talk to. He texted and called on his phone for scheduling and update to the project. It was a big project, so it took about a week and a half to get all the people together at one time. They have been the best tree trimming company I have ever hired. They cut down three huge palm trees and it was not an easy task at all. The project was a two day process. The first day they cut down the three palm trees removing as much debris as possible. At the end of the day one of the gentleman clean my pool of debris, which was unnecessary but very thoughtful. They cleaned up the area before leaving. The second day they cut down the remaining stumps and removed all excess debris. They also cleaned up the area before they left that days, so everything was clean. I would not hesitate to use them again the next time I have a trimming tree project to do. They were great. I can't give them more praise then this. All of them were very hard workers. read more

I found out that one of the trees in the backyard has seeds that are toxic to dogs. So I contacted Marcelino for a quote to have the tree removed. He asked that I send him my contact information so that he could provide an in person quote. We spoke on the phone to confirm the day and time. Marcelino never showed up. I called him and texted him, no response. I left a voicemail message asking for his ETA. He never replied. What a waste of time. A business is built on being reliable and fulfilling a commitment, which in this case starts with a quote. Mind you, the in person quote was his offer.
