I bought over $3000 of merch but came back to return portfolio that didn't work out for my son. While I didn't have my receipt, I had the transaction number, the DL, and CC used to purchase the item (which is what you need when no receipt is present). Soraya refused to process the transaction in spite of hearing two other Tumi stores say that this is protocol and a return should be accepted. Worst customer service ! She needs training read more

**ORIGINALLY POSTED ON VACAVILLE OUTLET TUMI STORE BUT MENTIONED KEVIN IN CORTE MADERA FOR THE ENGRAVING EXPERIENCE.** I received a new laptop for Christmas and wanted to protect it with a nice bag that would last me forever. I began my search on Macy's.com where I have multiple gift cards and came across Tumi, but knew nothing of it so kept scrolling. I found myself at the Vacaville Outlets in other luxury brand stores with a budget of sub $200 for a new bag. I saw backpacks, briefcases, slings, and women's purses that match that description but none that I thought would be durable long term. The Samsonite store was the next stop, then I saw the Tumi logo outside the store. I turned to my boyfriend and said, "We have to check out that store, I know nothing of it!" We were quickly greeted by Daniela who is The Gem of Tumi stores. Coming from sales myself, I'm naturally drawn to and identify genuinely passionate people who are happy where they work. That's Daniela. She did a needs analysis and asked me questions like, "What will you be using the bag for? How will you be using it? What do you expect the bag to do for you?" ETC ETC. That's when she pointed to my beautiful Ashton briefcase laptop bag shown in the photo. IT DOES EVERYTHING I NEEDED IT TO DO AND MORE. I expected great padded protection, lots of zippered compartments to hold chargers for an iPad, phone, buds, and more. Even my work binder fits in the main compartment, a 3-ring medium sized binder with a notepad inside. What was also very important to me was style, obviously coming from Coach and Michael Kors previous to stepping in. The tag was nearly $100 more than budget but I opted to get it because of Daniela, really. Without her, I would have settled for a nice looking bag down the way at Coach that checked all my boxes, nothing more and nothing less. And was $189. Without Daniela, I wouldn't have known about the materials that make up the bags and appreciated why it's made that way compared to competitor brands. I also wouldn't have known about the great warranty offered through Tumi and the registration of my bag on the Tumi website, in the event some good samaritan found my bag and wanted to return it to me. I also wouldn't have known to go to the Corte Madera Tumi store to get my bag personalized as seen in the photo. What a great touch! My boyfriend and I made our way there on a day trip last week to get that done with Kevin because that store has the machine capable of engraving. And how equally helpful Kevin was and solidified why we were making our purchase with a great company. Kevin likely walked back and forth a dozen or so times to make sure I was 100% happy with the engraved patch. Once installed, I just KNEW this was the best purchase I've made it awhile and I'm so happy I experienced this with such great customer service. Thanks Daniela and Kevin. I never write reviews but the woman behind the counter at the Tumi store went out of her way to not help us. Went went in to get two replacement monogram patches and even though the store was empty the woman made every excuse to not help us. When my mom and I walked in the store she was helping another customer so were happy to wander around the store while we waited. When the customer left she came over to help us. Just as I explained why we came in the phone rang and she sharply turned around to answer it. She took a note of what they were looking for and told them she would call back. When she hung up she came over and we told her that we wanted to replace two monogram patches: one that had been worn off and one that we wanted to change to give to a friend. First she refused because they can't edit an existing patch, then she told us that she couldn't help unless we brought the bags to the store. But when we pressed further she said she could check in the back room for extra blank patches. However, when she came back from the storage room, she didn't say a word to us and instead went back to the counter and shuffled around. Several minutes went by and then she told us had to call back the person on the phone before she could help us. We waited several minutes more and finally just left. Her body language and tone made it very clear that she didn't want to help us because she wasn't going to make a sale. Overall it was very appalling especially since there was no one else in the store and we were being very patient. My family and I have purchased over 15 Tumi bags so it was very disappointing to have such a terrible experience from a brand we have been so loyal to. read more

Tumi is pretty much the shizznizz~!! Tumi items pretty much have a lifetime support warranty - they will continue fixing it for a small fee. Is it expensive? Extremely expensive...but their stuff is great. The workers here have all been very knowledgeable about their products and know how to sell them. And they treat you really well. =) read more

What a difference between two Tumi company stores. The Tumi location at the Forum Shops at Caesars in Las Vegas was everything you would want and expect from Tumi. Attentive, professional and with good inventory. So good that I wrote Tumi's Regional Manager to let them know what a great store. Today I found a Tumi bag I wanted. I figured I give the Las Vegas store once again and again...wonderful service. Unfortunately they were not allowed to do transactions over the phone. So I called this Tumi location. What a difference. Even after explaining that there's a particular bag I am looking for, the clerk on the phone curtly said "I need to know which one". I explained to her I have Tumi's stock number, the tone of her voice was annoyance and took the number. She then placed me on hold. After 10 minutes of dead air. I hung up. Considering I spent over $2000 in Las Vegas at Tumi, this location will never see a dime. read more

A girlfriend of mine who knows from quality turned me on to Tumi and so I decided to invest in a piece for an upcoming multiweek trip to europe. I walked in and spent some time hemming and hawing between a backpack, crossbody, and sling, and was assisted by the very gracious Paul. He was charming and sweet, NOT pushy, and gave me great customer service. I settled on a black sling (sooner or later, I WILL own a piece in that gorgeous Baltic blue, though), Paul monogrammed it for me, and I bounced out the door happy as a clam. Terrible experience. My wife gave me a bag for Christmas and was told by the clerk that it could be returned without a problem within 30 days. When I went to return it with the original box, gift receipt with all tags on it they said they could only give me store credit unless I had the "original" receipt. I drove back to my house to get the receipt, back to the store where I was told I could only get it put back on the original card meaning the person who gave me the gift would have to come in with the package and the card to return it. Who knows what they would have said to her. The clerk reluctantly agree to take her card over the phone to reimburse her. The clerks basically misrepresented the return policy before and after purchase. I will never buy anything from Tumi. It is a bunch of overpriced nylon bags so no great loss. read more

I will forever be a lifelong Tumi customer. I got my bag over 10 years ago and I came to this location to get it repaired for my next trip. The ladies there handled my situation with such finesse. My bag was out with the next shipment and back in my possession so swiftly. While the blonde woman was taking notes of what needed repair on my bag, I was able to browse the store for little things I might need for my trip. Ended up finding everything in one place. I took a defective bag into Corte Madera Tumi Store. Manager did not solve problem and was really not professional nor helpful. I took problem back to Grant Avenue, SF store where I purchased bag. Maria, store manager at Grant Avenue location will fix the problem. I will stick to Grant Avenue store in future. I had hoped that same great Tumi service would extend to Corte Madera store.
