Very upset about our experience. We have been here years ago and it was decent. I don't know if cooks changes or what happened. Ordered wonton soup, pepper steak and pad Thai. The wonton soup had ice cold wontons. The pepper steak sauce tasted so fishy. I have eaten at a lot of Thai food and I've never had such a fishy smell/taste on Thai pepper steak. Then the pad Thai. Seemed hot at first, took a few bites and mushrooms also ice Cold. We said something and the owner said we wasted their food and argued with us. Two people do not want to come into a restaurant hungry and take one bite of food and leave hungry. I would understand if we ate half of it, but there was only one bite of the pepper steak taken and three bites of the pad Thai. The food was delicious. The two things that would make this a 5 star would be better portions and better communication. 1. We ordered to go. But had to come inside to pick up 2. The inside of the restaurant was beautiful colorful well lit and cooled and romantic 3. The ladies at the counter had a nonchalant attitude 4.when asked for Thai pepper in fish sauce (a common condiment for hardcore Thai fanatics, got a little resistance attitude and was given dried chili flakes in bag instead (a cheaper option) without being told. 5. This place is in palm harbor and I live in Wesley chapel, was very disappointed when I got home to not have what I specifically asked for. 6. Went back to pick up the condiment and was met with more resistance when asked for 3 servings of the condiment (was only going to get one which is about a tablespoon) for the $50 of food I just ordered 3 dishes. I am pretty particular on how I like certain things and normally I would order extra chicken and bean sprouts but I wanted to see how it came normally and true to form, I would still order the extras. Many people like this dish but do not like the amount of peanuts on it so I do have to say that though mine had it on there, it wasn't overwhelming like some places can be. Ben ordered the Pad Kee Mow and when he walked in the door with our food, I instantly could smell his! He got his with medium spice to it and as a suggestion, I would request them to stir or mix it in with the entire dish. He discovered that all his spice was right in the center of the to-go box so some parts had no spice while others did. He mixed it up but it probably would have been a more evenly distributed if they have done it during the cooking process. It could be completely different while dining in, who knows. Worst Thai food we have ever eaten. The spring rolls were literally burnt to a crisp, the wontons were burnt and had zero flavor. The red curry had no flavor and like 3 shrimp and my husbands pad Thai was flavorless ! 3 stars is very generous here and mainly 1 of these 3 is because our server was friendly. We visited about 7:30 on a Friday night and only 2 tables had customers...that shoulda been our red flag! I asked for plum wine...they were all out - red flag number two! I settled for a glass of white Zinfandel that tasty cheap but the worst part was there were lip prints on my glass!!!!!! The steamed dumplings were ok - but only after drowning them in the dipping sauce. The seaweed salad was served on a cute dish but I'm not sure it was fresh... Chicken pad Thai was average at best and definitely lacked flavor. I'm not sure where all these great reviews came from.
