I really like this American / Mexican restaurant. I've eaten here many times over 4 years. The food has alway been fresh and delicious. They also have a disc golf whole out back. The Bathroom is a bit weird, and so is walking to the outdoor dining in the back. But I the quesadillas and tacos are banging. I will be back. read more

I love this restaurant. The place is tiny, 2 tables & a narrow side counter inside. There are a couple picnic tables out back although the scenery is not so great. I mostly get takeout. All that aside, the food is excellent. They use the freshest ingredients, cooked at time of order. Their burritos and tacos are my favorite, so tasty, none of the grease that you get from most mexican restaurants. I find it healthy eating at a very decent price. read more

Really great authentic Mexican food! Tulum doesn't do any big entree plates, but that's their style either. The perfect place to grab food for take out when you want a great burrito, or have some tacos with rice and beans on the back porch in spring, summer, and fall! This is my favorite place for lunch and I am not a drunk college student. It is not expensive in this day and age for fresh ingredients prepared to order. If you go to taco bell this is not for you, if you are into tex mex - not for you! If you want the vibe of a little taco shop on the beach in Mexico then this place is for you! They make their sauces, chips, salsas as well as veggies and meats. It is packed at lunch time so get there early or after 1pm. I have never gotten a bad reception from the "chick with the tattoos" or see her treat anyone poorly...they are super busy and she is really focused. The food here is incredibly delicious and fresh, and somewhat unique. There are several other Latino food places in the area (I don't believe this is a Latino owned business, however), but Tulum is in a category of it's own in terms of what they serve. There's extra seating out back but there's not a lot of atmosphere; but believe me when I tell you the quality of the food here more than makes up for it. The is the best place to eat for miles in any direction. I do believe the vegetarian offerings are actually vegetarian; at least they list themselves as vegetarian/vegan friendly. The food at Tulum is fine. The staff there makes it unbearable. I have never walked into a restaurant and felt so unwelcome! The people who work there are obviously friends, because even though there were 5 people working while i was there, they all stood around hanging out while it took over an hour for my burrito to come out. When I asked why, they said they only had one cook. The staff was not attentive, did not seem to want my business. In this economy, I do not know how they are even still in business. Yum yum yum! Authentic mexican food for a decent price! My favorite is their cheese quesadilla with black beans with that big red HOMEMADE hot sauce! Its heaven. I am not entirely sure why this place has such high reviews. If the ratings are in comparison to Taco bell and Chipotle, then yeah I rate them higher. But they are located in Bethlehem! There are at least 5 places in a 2-3 mile radius that makes tacos and burritos way better and tastier than them. Tried a few of their burritos and tacos. Meh! And their much lauded wings. Also meh! For people who like less spicy, bland, "healthy" stuff, then this IS the place for you. But for those like me who like a proper taco or a burrito. You know, the ones where the tortilla is splashed with a little lard and the meat is spicy, tender and fatty. Where the food is absolutely delicious without any added sauces, salsas and embellishments. If you are looking for that, then do not come here, go to Aqui Es on the North side and get a taste of REAL tacos. Insipid, pretentious, tex-mex fare is what you get here and is good enough for hungry under-grads. Tulum is a beautiful place in Mexico and I am sorry to say nothing about the food here reminds me of Tulum. And by the way, people who claim this is authentic, please accept my sympathies. though I have visited more than dozen times for burritos, it is just ok not impressive choice. It is close to Lehigh University, so they have students and employee customers,but definitely, they need some improvement. 1. Quality control- sometimes,it's ok, but sometimes,the meat is very dried, salty or too spicy. 2. Customer service - The female cook (or wrapper )who has tattoos on all over her arms treats male customers much better than females. Small burrito place right on the edge of Lehigh's campus. The menu has a good variety of burritos, plus tacos, wings and a few other items. All the burritos I've had here have been good. First of all, there is nothing Mexican about this place. There are a couple of hipsters who look like they belong on a Seattle food truck manning the counter / grill. Secondly, By far the worst food I've ever had in my life. The "guacamole" was simply mashed avocado - not a stitch of tomato, onion or cilantro mixed in. No seasoning whatsoever. The Beth Mex Burrito was the most bland, disgusting thing I've ever tasted. I took two bites, and couldn't even go any further. Not a single thing from the rice, beans, chicken - NOTHING inside the burrito was seasoned. No salt, pepper or any of the authentic Mexican seasonings you'd expect. The "sauce" was a watery orange substance, also completely devoid of flavor. To add insult to injury, I tried to use one of the hot sauces at the counter to add flavor to the burrito and the top opening was so dirty and clogged that the hot sauce wouldn't even come out. The girl working behind the counter stood there and watched me struggle with it, then watched my face turn to disgust and never once offered to help or get another bottle. Not a word. DISGUSTING is the only word I can use to describe this place. Biggest waste of time and money in a long time. read more
