BUYER BEWARE!! I ordered a Tuff Shed through Home Depot. The sales representative came out and took measurements. We decided to build a 6×10 shed. Now the nightmare starts... No show or phone call on the morning of the installation. After a phone call and being put on perma-hold I was told that the truck "broke down" and needed to be towed. We rescheduled and the new installation was supposed to be at our house between 7-9am. Once again, NO PHONE CALL. A guy arrived that was supposed to be an installer at 1pm. The installation was ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!! A child could have painted the shed better than this installer. The shed was missing trim pieces and paint was splattered all over my concrete slab. The paint on the shed was watered down and you could see the wood under the paint. When they sent out the "top installer" he left the aluminum rain drip all bent and dented. YOU MAY NEED A SHED BUT, TUFF SHED IS NOT THE QUALITY SHED THEY BRAG ABOUT!!! I am currently addressing the issue with HomeDepot because I've never heard back from TUFF SHED. We've bought 3 Tuff Sheds in the last 15 years or so (for 2 different properties) from this location. While the personnel changes, the service and the product are never less than great. They show up when they say they will, honor their warranty, have polite, efficient on-site guys, the whole enchilada. We only deal with live people, not the website, so I can't speak to that. When shopping for our first shed, we looked at the Tuff Sheds offered by Home Depot but opted to go directly (by phone) to the nearest actual TS dealer (about 150 miles away) and it was a great decision. When you're dealing with a middleman, you are NOT going to get the teriffic service delivered by an actual TS dealer. Wish all businesses were run this way. read more

Tom S from Tuff Shed (his reply posted here in the string) apparently was the catalyst to get something done. Got a call today to schedule my roof repair. I asked the rep why it has taken almost two weeks to return my call. He offered "I don't know." I think, however, that I know. Had their corporate office not intervened I would likely still be waiting for them to respond. I now, supposedly, have an appointment for the 30th of the month which is almost a full month since the second roof problem occurred and they were notified. Even if they ultimately show up and finally fix the problem I could never give them above a one star rating. This should have taken one call from me and subsequently rectified by Tuff Shed in just a few days. Bon chance should you buy one from them. If you don't see any more posts from me after the 30th it may be assumed this issue was finally put to bed. read more

I ordered a 7 x 8 tuff shed, quality is good installers came out and did a good job, but factory made door to big, they remade the door and sent some persons out to install it. all the did was eyeball the opening and installed it, no leveling, tried to shut it would not shut properly so they just slammed it shut, so beware tuff shed comes thru home depot, and you are at mercy of who comes out to install. so next notified factory and told them but forget their warranty's, they may or may not fix it, right now being as how I installed doors myself I shimmed under offending hinges and got the door to shut fairly decent, but its not right, looks like I will have to remove the door and reinstall myself. I refuse toi deal with home depot due to this. Buyer beware. read more

You can not speak to a human after you order. The entire customer care phone numbers go to the same automated system. No one answers and you have to leave a voice mail. And then no one calls you back. Apparently they don't pay humans to actually give customer service. The crew who installed our shed could do everything but the roof. So the shed sat for 2 weeks. I recently had a shed installed and the workmanship is very poor. My experience with Tuff shed has been poor from the very beginning. On the day of our appointment the installers called to say that they were not coming. I called and spoke with the scheduler to get our appt rescheduled and was given an appointment. When I called to verify the appointment, the scheduler told me that I was not scheduled. After I was finally given a day and time for my appointment, the installers arrived several hours late. They did not complete the installation and said that they needed to come back 6 days later to complete the roof and shelving. This shed is located at our vacation home so it is 3 hours from our home. I drove up today to check on the completed install and was appalled at the quality of the workmanship. * The paint was not done professionally, * the roof tiles were not cut evenly or to the end of the roof * There are nails in the ceiling completely missing the 2x4 * There is water damage on the floor by the door * The shelf was installed on the wrong wall * There are exposed screws sticking out of the back wall * The floor is not seamed correctly read more

The shed itself is great but the service and follow up has been unacceptable. The installers never completed painting our shed, lost the paint we supplied for the trim, didn't install the shelf to spec and there were literally nails everywhere coming out of the support studs. They also left a roll of nails in the yard and poured paint on the rock next to our driveway which had dried and now needs to be dug out and the rock replaced. Furthermore, we've called multiple times to have them finish the job and no one will call us back after they promise to look in it. It's been over a month since the install and we still have no resolution. I'm incredibly disappointed with the outcome and still can't use my shed. It's a lot of money to spend for such an abysmal outcome. read more

I looked at many sheds online and finally settled on Tuff Shed even though their prices were high compared to the rest. I ordered online through Home Depot and selected some options that brought the cost to about $3,500. I waited a few days and Tuff Shed contacted me, we reviewed the order and arrange for an install date. So far so good. I immediately received a phone call pushing the install date back a few days because I had ordered a steel roof rather than shingle roof. Fine. A week before the scheduled install date I received another phone call saying that the color I had chosen for my steel roof may or may not be available in time for the scheduled install date but they would let me know the day before whether or not it had arrived and we could proceed with the install. I suggested that we choose some other color similar to the brown color I had chosen as it really didn't matter to me what color the roof is but they said no sorry they would still have to let me know the day before the proposed install date whether or not they could perform. I probably could have accepted and went with all of this but there was something very strange about these seemingly twelve year old females that were calling me to discuss my order. They were short, glib, and completely disinterested in whether or not I was getting what I needed, they were just doing their jobs, and it was painfully obvious to me that they were just doing their jobs. It was during the third phone call to reschedule that I realized there was no way this would ever be a good experience. I demanded that they cancel the order, which they did not do. I called back several days later and again demanded that they cancel the order, and finally spoke with somebody who seemed like a cogent and aware human being. It's now three weeks since the beginning of this silliness, Home Depot has refunded my $3,500, and I will never ever consider doing business with Tuff Shed again. read more

I bought a Tuff Ahead 18 years ago. Their shed is good but their service is poor and I mean poor.. We had some shingles blow off our shed during the last storm here in Arizona and I called and spoke Jason. I told him that I am handicapped and I needed help before the next storm in replacing the shingles. He told me that he will try to get someone over when there is a call in my area. 3 weeks gone by and no service.. I called Jason and got the same answer. No one available yet. Well I will tell you now, I will never ask for help from Jason at Tuff Shed or Tuff Shed itself. If that is how they take care of their customers I don't want anything to with Tuff Shed. Ordered a Tuff Shed through Home Depot with sales manager Bill Hoel. Bill was very professional and friendly. Suggested only the upgrades that I needed. Two weeks later after ordering, my Tuff Shed was delivered and built within 3 hours by a friendly and professional crew lead by Rick Anaya. Only after the construction crew I noticed the vent upgrade was not installed. I called Bill and he directed me to the warranty department. We purchased a shed from them and it has been a real battle to get them to correctly install the shed. The salesman, Bobby, takes messages and claims he will get management to call us, nothing happened. We contacted a man who claimed to be the GM, his name was Gary, and his attitude was very corporate and not really interested in resolving the problem. He made an appointment to come and inspect, but at the last moment didn't come and sent a replacement. The man who came had no authority to make any decisions. That was more than 2 weeks ago and still nothing has been done. The product could be very good if assembled and installed correctly, their team failed at that and at everything thing else since. Get everything in writing and don't just use verbal agreements. I was told 1000 dollars was taken out for permits and what wasn't used would be refunded. In writing they put 450 under an admin fee and I didn't notice it. They would only refund from the 650 they had listed for the permits. ridge vent was supposed to be installed and was not. The building was done in june and I called them about the ridge vent not being installed, it took them until September to call back wanting the 1000 dollars that was withheld until finish. I purchased a shed from Tuff Shed and was confirmed for a project start on November 10,2017. The shed was to be built 3 hours from where I live. I drove the three hours to meet the crew. I received a call on Thursday November 9,2017 telling me that everything was on schedule. On November 10,2017 at approximately 8:30 am I got a call telling me the crew would not be there due to an overbooking. I am still awaiting a reschedule date after making several calls to Tuff Shed. The customer service has been terrible. I lost time from work,I made a six hour round trip for nothing and have nothing to show for it. Tuff Shed Phoenix came out and installed our shed, and put the window on the west side when we specifically told them to put it on the east side. Now we get the scorching afternoon sun right in our shed. They also left gaps in the ceiling and damaged the door. We called them right away and they said they would get back to us. Two weeks later they showed up at our door with no call or appointment. We were unable to give them access at that time. A week after that we were on the phone with them and all they would do was put a window on the opposite side. They ended up giving us a credit of three hundred dollars for repairs that we did ourselves. They also said that people call them for a shed because they are the best. Maybe that used to be true, but when you are met with that kind of pious attitude and your experience with them was not the kind that meets with your satisfaction, it's far from being true for us. They also chipped the cement pad we paid to have put in prior to them coming out. The workmanship I expected to see for spending the kind of money they ask for was just not there. What a nightmare took them forever to get the permits once they did get the permit they notified there concrete sub and then he notified me. I did not choose there sub. I had to call tuff shed to get the permits for the garage once I received the permit it had the garage in the wrong location mind you the drawings showed it correct . I called tuff shed to get the permit corrected and they told me they never reviewed the permit . The salesman and the manager were no help so I had to get the permit corrected. Finally the work crew shows up set the walls and roof . The next day the inspector shows up and there shoddy work fails inspection . So I call tuff shed to let them know. The next day there crew shows up to make the repairs and again they do a shoddy job .so I do the repairs myself and it passes inspection. Tuff shed comes back to finish the job. 2 weeks latter I get a email requesting payment . I informed the salesman that a final inspection has not been done. The next day the salesman calls me and tells me to call for a final inspection So I informed him that's what I paid him to do. Tuff sheds customer service was terrible . I will never do business with them again. They may be ok for sheds but as far as a garage I would not recommend. Oh I also gave them a bad survey leaving my contact info in case some one wanted to discuss the service I received and nobody called. I guess corporate is ok with this type of customer service. I put a $9000.00 deposit down and it took over 6 months to do the job. There was no communication or follow up initiated by tuff shed I had to make all contact. read more

The sales guy was very good, worked with me, we jointly decided on the site for the shed. When the deliuvery team arrived they said they could not put the shed where the sales guy and I had jointly agreed it should go. A few phone calls later and the installation guy siad he would try. I explained that if he could not put it where I wanted it then I was not willing to accept delivery. He become pretty short at that point and said he would try but no guarentees. Eventually it was installed where I wanted it. No idea why I had to go that unpleasant experiance with the installer. This means I can NOT recommend you to my friends. read more

I ordered a Tuff Shed through Home Depot and the lady that helped me was fantastic. They actually installed it before they said they could, which was great. After the installation, I noticed the door was a bit warped and stuck out in the middle enough to see bright light coming in. I went to Home Depot to buy a drip guard, to prevent water from leaking in, and the lady I ordered it from said she would call Tuff Shed and have it fixed. The installers came and looked and said they would let their boss know about it. Never heard from them Was told to call the area sales rep. She said she would call and have it fixed. Never heard from them. Called the rep again and she said "let me give you their number and you can call them." Not what I wanted to hear. Tuff Shed service in Phoenix is poor at best,. We purchased a Tuff Shed in May, we were concerned about several issues with our Shed and poor service by the reprersentatives who came out, We have left several messages with the sales representative Blaise Grozier who has assured us that he would forward our concerns to the General Manager, We last spoke to him about 30 days ago and he once again assured us we would hear from the General Manager, As expected we once again have failed to hear from him. I guess past reviews with poor service are very well warranted. I will ensure I let my friends and neighbors who are looking for storage solutions to look elsewhere. Very Disappointed in their poor service. Next step to do work to find the owner and go that route. Unfortunate the general manger cant take a few minutes and resolve a situation. read more

Stay away! Total Liars! waited till the money cleared and then called to say we needed a permit for the shed when they said in agreement that I didn't need one when they new I did.. I didn't have a problem with needing a permit but they informed me 2 weeks later after the money cleared. that I did. Now today 7 weeks later they show up to install the shed and the wind started blowing and the installers couldn't finish because of the hazards of the wind. The tuff shed people said that there schedule is booked and didn't know when they couldn't tell me when they could be back out to finish! The Manager Mike was a total as**ole on the phone when I asked why my schedule is not in front of the others. He said that they will finish today and I said it was total asinine asking the (independent contractors that they hire) to risk there injury to complete it when the wind is gusting 35 mph. Called Tuff Shed at 3:45pm in the afternoon and the lady transferred my call to a sales person and the phone rang 4 times, another woman picked up and I assumed she was in sales and then she told me that all the sales reps are out to lunch. (Lunch all of them at 3:45 pm?) Left name and number to have someone call me back and Bob called 45 mins later. We talked and set up an appt. for him to come out and look at the location for the shed. He said he lived up close to me and would stop on his way to work that morning between 8:30 and 9. Waited and waited just like so many others and NO SHOW. Called him and he was complaining about being stuck in traffic on his way to the office (which is in the opposite direction). I said what about our appt. before you went to the office. He wanted to re-set up the appt at a later time. Told them to forget about it. Should of known from the first phone call not to bother with them. Company is very unorganized, they need help. Beware of Tuff Shed. I purchased a Tuff Shed less than 2 years ago. A metal frame was placed on concrete blocks for leveling. Now my door won't shut. I called to explain this and first thing out of this woman's mouth is it is the ground is settling and we don't cover that under warranty. No question if it was on a slab or anything. Why do they sell all the extras for leveling if they know the ground will settle and cause these issues? I do believe she said this is common for the ground to shift and she did say it wasn't covered under warranty so why isn't this being told up front? It seems to be very deceiving to me. The way I understand it is they are going to sell you a building knowing you will have issues and you will have to pay someone to come out and fix the problem eventually and there is no telling how many times you will have to do this over the lifetime of the shed. So my conclusion is bad product and bad customer service. read more
