On long road trips, the one dilemma is always whether to stop for a long break or a short one. After starting today's leg of the trip while it was still dark outside so my kids could sleep (and dad could drive for a few uninterrupted hours ;) we were all ready for a nice break. I didn't want to stop for a full sit-down restaurant with a server. But none of us were in the mood for fast food. Tudor's fit the bill as the food is made fresh, but you order at the counter. Feel free to take as much or as little time as you'd like. It was exactly what we were looking for. I will admit, when someone made this suggestion, I said I wasn't sure if I wanted to eat biscuits and gravy from a place called "tooters" (dad joke!). But my family quickly corrected me on the spelling, to my relief! Ok, down to business... these biscuits! I ordered the biscuits and gravy with two biscuits because I bake and know the size of biscuits. Wow, was I wrong. Instead of the normal "palm size" biscuit, these monsters were as big as my whole hand with my fingers almost fully extended! While the gravy was good, the homemade biscuits were the star. Not only were they large, they were fluffy and oh, so yummy! Next time, I'll do a breakfast sandwich or a plain biscuit with jam to really enjoy these delicacies. Before we left, my youngest daughter asked for a cinnamon roll. And since I am firmly wrapped around her little finger, I obliged. Homemade and fresh, they offered to warm it up. If someone asks if you'd like for them to warm up your pastry, you say "yes!" This cinnamon roll was larger than the biscuits. It was so big, we split it between all of us. And my gawd, this thing melted in my mouth! You could tell this Tudor's was a hot spot where the locals gather. I love finding little gems like this. There are several other Tudor's in town. I don't know if they are independent or not. But I would bet it is locally owned. It had all the makings of a small town diner. read more

I'm definitely gonna miss Tudors !! It's my first stop when I go to wva . The duke for my husband. I get the super breakfast.

First off, the food from Tudor's never disappoints. This review is not about the food, but about the management at this location. When going through the drive thru this morning the cashier rang up my order incorrectly by inadvertently adding two additional drinks. In the attempts to fix this, the manager, rather than simply removing those items from the order, made a "cash payment" on the order to attempt to offset the cost. The problem is that the manager doesn't understand simple mathematics and taxes. While the $3.19 was correct for the price of said beverages, it did not include the tax that was on the order for those items. I was overcharged $.23 in tax due to this ignorance. The manager then argued with me over the amount saying that I was simply wrong and that they had not been taxed. She couldn't have been more wrong. The incorrect order was $11.12 before tax and $11.94 with tax. The order should have been $7.96 before tax and $8.52 with tax. By crediting off $3.19 that made the order $8.75. Does anyone else see the issue here? While $.23 is not going to break me by any means, it is the principle of the matter and the blantant ignorance on the part of the manager that creates the issue. read more

Just okay. The biscuits were very tasty, but the hash rounds were tough and chewy with a strange metallic taste. The ham on my sandwich was super salty, but with decent flavor. The place felt clean. The staff members seemed to follow COVID precautions okay, but several were baring their noses above their masks. The service was decently friendly. The interior is cute and a little old-fashioned, which was charming to me. The bathrooms could have been a little cleaner and more updated, but not terrible. read more

We stopped at Tudor's in Nitro on a cross country drive. Food was good, but the service was outstanding. We ordered BLTs that were satisfying- better than stopping for another burger. I left my purse there and didn't realize it until we were in Indiana (over 200 miles away). After confirming that it was my purse, they shipped it back to me. They were so kind and helpful. When we are back in WV, we will definitely eat here again. read more

We stopped here for breakfast on our way back from West Virginia. I got the Bacon biscuit combo which inludes a drink and hashbrown. The staff was alittle aggrevated, the hashbrowns were cold and greasy. However, I did enjoy my sandwich. read more

The only reason why this doesn't get a 1 star is because the woman who handed me my food was extremely nice, but other than that, the food here is not good people. I ordered the meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes, green beans and a biscuit. The first thing I did was take a bite of the biscuit which looked promising. I should have known that the rest wouldn't be any better when the biscuit was a bit under with no seasoning. I went for the meatloaf and was confused. I started to remember all of those videos I've seen of "meat glue" products. That's where they get a bunch of leftover beef or pork and then use this type of glue to manufacture a "steak" or just ground the whole thing into oblivion. The texture of this "loaf" was not appealing and it tasted kind of slimy or sticky. It was way too chunky to be a loaf and it completely fell apart. I felt like I had to keep chewing and chewing to get through it. The green beans and the mashed potatoes were very bland. I almost expected it to be too salty because nothing tasted fresh. I did not like this place. Except the nice woman. read more

This is the location I eat at the most because it's near my friend's house when I come home. I grew up on Tudors and miss it living in NC (Biscuitville is the closest equivalent). The food is good but othee than the biscuit it is veey average. The corn was from a can the chicken breast cooked well but other than that nothing special.
