Dangerous, Disgusting, and Falling Apart - Avoid This Tudor's Biscuit World I have never seen a restaurant in such terrible shape, both in cleanliness and safety. This location is a complete disaster: * Rats: Droppings were found behind the ovens and grill, making the kitchen unsafe for any food preparation. * Filthy grill & food contamination: Eggs have come out with gray residue because staff scrape the grill with metal tools they aren't supposed to use, damaging the surface and contaminating food. * Disgusting pot: A pot of filthy water sits under the steam well nearly every day, reeking and unsanitary. * Chemical misuse: Workers place sanitizer buckets in the same areas where food is set down -- an obvious health hazard. * Broken equipment: In less than a week, safety systems shut the place down, half the grill stopped working, copper wires in the oven burned and filled the kitchen with smoke, and multiple other pieces of equipment failed. It's my strong suspicion rats in the walls are contributing to the electrical problems. * Management: Instead of addressing problems, managers are rude, dismissive, and show zero professionalism. This place isn't just dirty -- it's dangerous. Between vermin, chemical exposure, contaminated food, and failing equipment, no customer should feel safe eating here. A bit on the Heavy Side so forget a light Breakfast but be prepared for Great Biscuits. After a long day since leaving Cornelius NC, driving up to West Virginia and exploring the New River Gorge, it was finally time to grab lunch and head back to Cornelius. Not sure what I wanted, I got off the I-77 just North of the West Virginia Turnpike and looked at what was available for lunch. Several options but I had had good luck at a Tudor's Biscuit World just east of Fayetteville last year so decided to give them a try. Like the store last year, this one was also paired with a Gino's Pizza and Spaghetti and looking at the location map of both, they appear to overlap but not sure what the business relationship is between the two. As I walked in, there was a sign promoting the 2/$5 special so I decided to give it a try. I chose two of the Thundering Herd Biscuits. A Thundering Herd Biscuit is a huge buttered biscuit and I mean very liberal with the butter, Sausage, Egg, Cheese, and a layer of Hash Brown Potato Patty. I'm normally a heavy eater but these were so big, I should have stopped with one. Did manage to eat one in it's entirety but on the second, ended up dissecting it and eating only the parts I really loved. Not good but when I left, I felt like I needed to take a nap. Great Biscuit. Can't go wrong with a loaded burrito or a Peppi. I like most things on the menu but those are my go to.

This was where we stopped for breakfast on our way home from our vacation. They don't have this chain where I live so I definitely wanted to check it out when I saw it on a sign. As the name of the restaurant would imply the menu centered around their breakfast and breakfast sandwiches. I tried what they called The Miner which was bacon, a hashbrown cake, and melted American cheese. The biscuit was a very good, no frills variation and was perfect for this sandwich or if you just wanted to spread jelly or honey on it. The bacon was crisp and delicious as was the hashbrown. The melty cheese finished off the sandwich perfectly. Two of those filled me up nicely. The service was excellent as well. The price is very affordable, tge people were nice, and the food was excellent. It's a delicious, old school breakfast that's perfect for the road like us or before work. Solid thumbs up. read more

I ask the redheaded male teenage manager if they could sit me close to the door because I was really turning green really having a rough time and he refused to me. Well Butter My Buns and call me a Biscuit!!!!! Lawd have mercy this place will make you a believer! When I entered WV I started seeing the name on exit ramp signs. I was curious, but had somewhere I needed to be. I saw more and more of these signs. The yellow sunshine logo called to me. Breakfast.. come get breakfast... you know you want too!! If you can put it on or in a biscuit you can get it here. I was driving so decided I had to try it before I left the state but didn't have time to actually sit in to eat. This location is very convenient on and off the highway. I drove up and was greeted by a very large drive up menu board. The WV accent I just love to hear came loud and proud over the speaker. There are about 20 different biscuits to choose from off the bat, not even taking into account their platters and other selections. Well I am in WV so I opted for the Thundering Herd. Egg (I asked for no egg) hash brown, sausage and cheese. Yes, the hash bown was ON the biscuit! It was enormous and a bit difficult to eat and drive I got one bite in and just couldn't do both. So I did it the easiest way I could and deconstructed it. I had forgotten how much sage people use in the south east for their sausage, but it was a pleasant reminder for sure. Savory and oh so good not over cooked in the least which was wonderful with the potato, cheese and tender biscuit. I nearly did have to pull over after that bite. Sadly they are only located in a few states but I will make a return when I am in the area. GO GIT YA SOME! read more

There are two seperate sides to the restaurant: 1) biscuit style comfort food and 2) a low-level Italian side. We ate at the home cooking side and were pleased. The portions of sides were great. Tudor's is a West Virginia staple. It's the food everyone there loves to eat and the food all us WV expatriates love to remember eating but feel slightly repulsed by. Well, I finally decided to give in and eat some Tudor's last time I visited back home and let me tell you -- it might be the most artery-clogging, flab-stacking redneck food you'll ever find... but it's freaking delicious. I had The Herd (because, GO HERD!!) which is not only named after my undergraduate alma mater but is also one of the best breakfast sandwiches they have -- sausage, fried egg, crispy hash brown and cheese on a flaky, buttery, crispy, chewy, melt-in-your-mouth fluffy biscuit the size of my face. It's so, so good. I will say it was quite an ordeal to order because I was also getting a gift card (yes, my grandfather gets this from me every year -- he once wrecked his car, crawled out of a ditch and walked the rest of the way just to get Tudor's for breakfast) and a dozen plain biscuits to deliver to family as a surprise. There was no one working in the store under the age of 65, and as a result, things were a little slow-going, especially when it came to figuring out the cash registers. The gift card I received looked used... it has some kind of black dirt all over it, and the graphics are worn down.I saved the receipt just in case. Let me just tell you a couple other things that are on the menu, if perhaps you aren't persuaded that you should try Tudor's at least once just for the Duck Dynasty type of experience you'll get: How about sugar-flaked ham? No, well then maybe you'd enjoy hot bologna and fries? Hm, or perhaps chunky gravy? The list goes on. If you have an opportunity to try a Tudor's, you should. Just to say you survived. The staff is friendly and I got my food quickly. The bacon cheeseburger was very flavorful. The beef patty was cooked to perfection and had a great taste. The bacon was crispy and the cheese was molten paradise. However, I cannot give out the same praise for the French fries. The fries used to be hot, crispy, and delicious. The fries I got today were spongy and soggy and rather cold as if they had been reheated in a microwave So I think next time I order a sandwich from here, I will just get the sandwich and drink and pass on the fries. read more

southern egg mcmuffin... can't leave wva without trying out a biscuit sandwich. if a hashbrown cake/egg/cheese (plus meat if you please: pepperoni, bacon, ham, sausage, burger, bologna, etc.) sandwich won't keep your tummy full for a long car trip, nothing will! the walk-up to order/served to your table with southern hospitality puts mcd's to shame :) not my typical meal but i had to try the local flavor and glad i did. a very "local" place but we loved being immersed in the "culture" and being greeted by [sometimes toothless] smiles. they serve up pancakes as well as healthier options such as apple oatmeal and egg white omelettes with wheat toast but that's no fun :) read more

I am a biscuit eater. Every breakfast place I go to, I must try the biscuits and gravy if it's a menu item...... So when I saw the title "biscuit world" I was drawn in by the promise of amazing biscuits. The second I walked in the door, a little disappointment settled on my shoulders. Like Hardee's only made fresh to order and MUCH tastier. Coffee was tolerable (I am a coffee snob), and the egg on the sandwich was cooked to perfection. Got the sausage egg and cheese biscuit and ate it all up. Wish they used real cheese not that plastic stuff that comes in single packages. I didn't get the gravy but did see it. I only give this particular Tudors 3 stars due to it being dirty, the ceiling vents dripping condensation and just basically falling apart. With that said......Tudors is my go to place for breakfast when I'm home. The one in Huntington is clean, no leaks, and not falling apart. As are many of the other ones around that area. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. THE FOOD: Nothing and I mean nothing compares to Tudors biscuits!! They are sooooo delicious. I always get the Mickey. That's bacon egg and this ooey gooey cheese that is just delicious!!!! It comes with a hash-brown and drink. Your choice of juices hot or cold coffee or hot chocolate in the winter. There are eggs, bacon and sausage combo plates too. All is super good! I love this place! I won't go home without at least going ONCE to have breakfast!! read more
