A couple of hours later, I had a…read morevoice mail from a woman that said they were " too busy" to speak to me and to go to their online site to reserve a room. The entire reason I called was that I had a specific question I wanted to ask, and I could not locate anything on their website that could have answered my question. I contacted another hotel in the vicinity that actually answered my phone call and made me feel valued as a person and as a future guest at their hotel.

We stayed in the River Wild room, which had an outdoor entrance. The bed was comfortable, and the room was straightforward. Across the street is a coffee shop by day that turns into a nonalcoholic upscale bar type place in the evening. The breakfast was exceptional, and I appreciated their offer to make me some scrambled eggs since I'm allergic to dairy and could have the (delicious looking) frittatas. I was thrilled to have Metolius tea there. The hot tub is a nice amenity, though it was a bit scummy when I went in. I also was unaware that there was hot (and cold) water available in a book by the breakfast room for guests, and a mini fridge. None of the emails had mentioned anything about those, nor could I find any info in the room. So this is your heads up! I really wanted a cup of tea before bed, so having this info would have been appreciated. It's centrally located and great for walking to wherever you want to go, if that's your thing. (Or drive if it's not, lol)

Don't miss Bangers and Brews for a casual meal! 5 stars on Yelp. And Zydeco for a more formal dinner (closed for lunch on the weekend). This was our 2nd stay at this amazing bnb. Already made a reservation for 4 nights again next year! Hands down, our favorite bed and breakfast! And we have been to many countrywide. Pegi is the perfect hostess. Very respectful of our privacy...yet kind and loving. Our beatiful, sweet dog, Abby, died suddenly while we were staying here. Pegi was so sensitive to that. She gave heartfelt hugs to my wife and gave some very kind words of comfort. We so appreciated that. The gourmet breakfasts are to die for. Seriously. She has a binder with pictures and descriptions of each dish. Maybe 10 different starters...as well as about 10 main dishes. You can choose your favorites. Cooked to order. Yum! We feel so spoiled! The grounds are so beautiful and well maintained. I loved the "babbling brook" that fed a small pond. I had book in hand, and enjoyed several hours of relaxing to the sound of the water. So peaceful. The rooms .... Perfect. The bed....so comfortable! But honestly, I spent most of the time outside on the deck, or by the stream relaxing.

I would have loved to give this place five stars but the bed really messed up my back. I noticed…read morethey mentioned if you want an extra bed they can set one up and I opted not to request that because I expected it to be a sofa bed. When we arrived the extra bed was set up and it took over the whole living room which was a bummer. Then I stupidly slept on it the first night because it looked like a decent bed and I thought I'd let my mom have the king to herself but I woke up in absolute agony. Next night I slept on the king too and it was very comfortable. They should only have that bed set up on request because it's a terrible bed and should only be a last resort sleeping spot. Other than the horrible bed we had a very nice time.

We stayed here while driving up to Seattle, stopping in bend for a night to see a show. Was excited…read moreto book somewhere local, and the reviews read great so we were super excited. While this inn has some nice things about it, namely a good bed and small patio, we found ourselves quite frustrated with the other parts of the stay. We brought our dog along, having checked that they were pet friendly and made arrangements to have the correct room. He is a calm, well trained, adult dog who is used to stayed in hotel rooms since we have spent a lot of time on the road. I , as always, read into their policies as available through Expedia and their website and found there would be no reason to expect anything different from our standard experience with other hotels. However, during check inn the women at the front desk asked what I was going to do with our pup while we are at the concert. Confused by this, she explained to me that their policy is not to allow dogs to be unattended in the room. She asked if I was going to leave him in the car (it is early September, and the heat would - as we know- make this extremely dangerous and possibly lethal for my pup). She additionally admitted that it would be hard to find that they hold this policy by simply looking through their website. In fact, the pet policies do NOT state that the pets are not allowed to be left in the room. Assuming we would have to cancel our plans for the night as to not have to leave him, we were extremely disappointed. Luckily, I was able to drive 45 minutes out of town to bring him to a family friends house until after the concert. This being said, this is not standard and is not conducive to being a "pet friendly" hotel if patrons are not able to leave their dog while going to dinner or an other activity. I even asked if we would be able to crate him and he could wear his e-collar (used for off leash work on our farm, but will guarantee he will not bark) which was declined. The women at the front desk was always kind, but unconcerned as to how this affected us and that we were not properly notified of the policy (nor would any other customer be). If we did not have family outside of town, we would have had to find somewhere else to stay or cancel our plans for the night. This policy needs to be made clear at booking. Besides for this, we were unimpressed with our room as it had a notable unpleasant smell when we walked in and had more than 10 bugs in the bathroom at all times. Including dead ones on the counter. The air in the room did not work, which especially frustrating during wildfire season as having a cool breeze come in is not an option when the air quality is extremely dangerous due to the smoke. Save your money and simply stay at the Hampton inn or one of the other places in town.

The company hosting the seminar covered the cost of our room, so we did not pay for it. The property itself is large and sprawls on either side of the river. We stayed on the second level, with a balcony overlooking the river, which was really nice! The hotel is from the 1970's, but it seemed nicely maintained and the room was very clean. Amenities I appreciated were the dual bathroom vanities, comfy chair, refrigerator, and USB charging ports on the wall. The room itself was generously sized. The bathroom was very clean and the water pressure in the shower was fine (not terrible, but not amazing). One thing I really missed having in the room was a microwave to reheat leftovers or coffee...I was surprised by the absence of this common amenity. As stated earlier, we didn't pay for this room. I looked up pricing, and the base rate seemed relatively reasonable. However, they tack on a 19% "amenity fee" that raises the rate quite a bit, along with the usual transient taxes by state and local governments. Even though I found our stay here to be enjoyable, I don't think I'd pay the rate they're charging overall for that same room. Although the river view was nice, I think I'd skip it and save some money. If their rates are acceptable to you and you value a riverside view, it's absolutely a nice hotel to stay at. All of the staff we encountered were very kind, too. I can't really say anything negative about our experience here! I would have given it a five star review, but I find the final room rate to be too expensive and having a microwave would have been appreciated.

The room was very modern, but loud (and had annoying loud "barn doors" into the bathroom. Also, the closing of the room door was super loud and I felt bad for disturbing others. We stayed here two nights while preparing to move into a rental in Bend. My husband got me a small meal the night before. Because I was up at 0600, I went to the breakfast to get coffee and food and to return the platter and the flatware from the night before. When I went the main desk to ask, some old lady with long gray hair seemed unnecessarilyy annoyed at my question about where to return. (We need to scrape the contents of the plates into the garbage can and place the plates and flatware into the bin)- something like "the precious". Anyway, the coffee was very good, but the breakfast, meh. Scrambled eggs weirdly bland, there was bacon (not a fan) and an "egg McMuffin" that I got only for the sausage. The second day the same old blah lady was at the desk, and the breakfast was even less (same scrambled eggs and sausage (turkey?). and a little muffin. Coffee was still good.

Walk right out the hotel and directly onto a trail that will take you over the river to shopping and/or up and down the trail that runs right along the river. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. Plenty of hotel parking. This is right next to the ampitheater so be mindful of shows happening all throughout the summer. It is literally right next door and the area will start to busy and fill up a day or two before shows. The ONLY issue I have with this hotel is that it is a literal nightmare for those of us with allergies and asthma. Carpets, curtains, and fabrics galore. Also - you cannot open the windows to get fresh air! There is a in wall AC/heat combo unti but I fear the filters and units are not cleaned regularly. Everybody who works here is a doll: friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. The setting is perfect for families. I love the decor and aesthetic . It feels a bit like camping, which is what we like. Our teenagers loved the hammocks in the bedrooms, and we all love roasting s'mores at the little fire pits. The first time we stayed here, they had a currywurst truck that would come to the LOGE at night and that was lovely. Unfortunately that's no longer the case, so if you want to stay in for dinner, you have to order food from DoorDash or Uber Ears. For breakfast, they have complimentary coffee and they have breakfast sandwiches, pastries, oatmeal, and cereal that you can purchase . All are excellent. On this trip, we had spotty Wi-Fi service in our room, so we couldn't use the TV to watch movies. They also had one reading light that would not turn off. They had just been hit by lightning the week before, so that might be why these things happened. It won't deter us from coming here again - we love it! But I do think they could stand to revamp the rooms a little bit - our tub needed to be reglazed, as did the sink.
