I went to K42 Tattoos after seeing a friends tattoo that the owner Nicholas did. I went in and he refreshed an old tattoo for me and I loved it! So I made an appointment for my next tattoo. A few days before my appointment, I noticed on their Facebook page that someone was upset that he missed their appointment. I called to confirm my appointment, and was told that Nicholas was out and took his appointment book with him, and they didn't know who to call to cancel appointments with. So I waited...when I found he was back to work, I made another appointment. Then his mother passed - completely acceptable reason for a cancellation. So I waited...when I found he was back to work again, I made another appointment. I've been looking forward to this for months now at this point, and about five minutes away from the shop yesterday, I get a phone call telling me that he is running FOUR HOURS behind and would I mind if someone else would do my tattoo? Yes. I mind. So Nick got on the phone and I explained to him that this is the third time my appointment with him has been canceled, only one of those times is completely understandable. He asked me if I could come in at 10:30 AM the next day (today) - he swore he would be there to get this done and would even give me 1/2 off my tattoo. So I went. At 10:25 I got to the parking lot to find the building still locked up. And I waited. I called to make sure someone hadn't gone in a back door and was waiting for me to show up. No one answered. I sent a message on Facebook and still haven't gotten a response. At 11:00 AM two vehicles pulled up - one being an artist that was coming in to work, and I'm guessing the other may have been Nick and his wife and as soon as they saw me sitting there, turned out of the parking lot and left. When I went in and spoke with the artist that was there, she told me Nick had a scratchy throat. She 'attempted' to call him but his phone was going directly to voicemail. She offered to do my tattoo, but not being familiar with her work, I opted not to. I have friends that go to other artists at K42 and they have not had these issues. And while the wait to get Nicholas to do your tattoo is worth it, the headache for the no-show appointments is NOT. This is the poorest customer service I have had the displeasure of dealing with in a long time. read more

After seeing some of her work on the Tucson Professional Tattoo website, I contacted Megan regarding a tribute watercolor tattoo a week prior to a visit to Tucson (I'm from Cincinnati). I sent pics of my ideas and scheduled an appointment. I showed up to my appointment and Megan was prepared with a sketch, we discussed colors and expectations and Megan was able to execute EXACTLY what I wanted!!! I love my tattoo (I have 4 others and by far this is my favorite). The BEST shop in town!!!! Hands down!!!! The amazing talented Hector Lopez is getting down on some flowers that will follow my body line from the neck to my feet. That should say loud enough how amazing his artwork is. This place and it's staff make you feel welcome and wanted. My kids love to come here and pick up drawing tips from the artists. And they are always willing to drop a couple tips their way. You couldn't be tattooed in a better place. It is very clean and their customer service deserves an A+. I made an appointment with Megan "Sierra" Vickery for a tattoo cover up on my hip (the 22nd and Wilmot location). She is a terrific artist, great personality and is very professional. The facility is clean and they stand behind their work. They're the only tattoo parlor in town that is a member of the Better Business Bureau! Paid for a tattoo to be drawn, which was extremely delayed. Then set up a appointment and the drawing was not done. Kept being set aside or forgotten. On September 9th, I paid Nicholas Becker of K42 Tattoo $50 for a tattoo of Odin to be drawn. I even referenced a picture that I liked. He said he would be busy the first week and to call him in a week if I did not hear from him. I said that was ok. After not hearing back from him the first week I called and was told he was not in. On the night of the 20th I called again and was able to talk to him. Nicholas said had t had the chance to start, which was ok with me. He said he would get on it and then asked if I wouldn't mind different angle of view (a front facing view) for Odin, as the one I showed him was somewhat sideways facing. He sent me an email with a drawing of Odin facing forward. Although this Odin looked nothing like the one I showed him, I said the facing forward part was fine but that I wanted it to look more like the picture I showed him ( which I sent to him in an email twice). After not hearing back from him for a few days, I would call the in and get the run around, he was either not there, just leaving, or already tattooing, all understandable, but he would not call back. I got ahold of him on the 26th and he said he had a rough sketch only of the drawing which he sent to me in a text message. The sketch look just like the picture he emailed to me. Nothing like what I wanted, plus it was not even complete.. I told him this and asked him to incorporate things from the picture of Odin I wanted in there. This continues on for a few weeks, more calls, more being given the run-around, and I would even stop in and talk to him really quick ( because he was busy) or his staff. On the 17th of October I went into the tattoo shop as he said he almost had it completed. After a bit of searching in his drawer he pulled out the drawing..well the sketch of the exact same thing he showed me a couple weeks before. Nothing of what I wanted or asked for. I asked him to make changes to the drawing, and we went over the details of what I wanted changed and he made notes on sketch. I said I have to go TDY for 3 weeks, can you have it done. He said yes, do you want to schedule and appointment. I said yes. We made the appointment for the weekend I got back, November 8th. Well I come back on the 8th for my appointment and he says he has to find where he put the drawing. After a few minutes he comes out with, guess what, the same thing he has been showing me, except it's on the paper ready to be applied to the skin. He even says he knows it's not the right one and that after his next appointment of the day that he will draw up the right one right away and tattoo it on me right after. I say I can't make it later today but tomorrow morning I can. He say he will even give me half of for all the trouble. The next morning befor I leave home he calls saying he is feeling sick but that I could still come in and get tattooed but he is worried that I might get sick. I say let's try Monday then (the next day) and he agrees. So Monday rolls around and I go in, he is not there, one of his staff says he is out sick and apparently did not call anyone to cancel their appointments. It's the 27th now and I have not heard back from him what so ever. I feel like I've been taking advantage of and paid for a service which I did not receive. read more

I've been to this shop about 3 or 4 times now and each experience has been decent, apart from the last Friday the 13th this past March. They do this Friday the 13th special where they do tattoos with the #13 in it for $13, and small tattoos for $20. Piercings are also $13. On the Friday the 13th in Feb. I got a voucher to come back and get a $13 piercing because the shop was super busy and they couldn't fit me in at that time, which was fine. Then in March they completely turned me and my boyfriend away at 8pm, 2 hours before they allegedly close, because they didn't have time for any more tattoos and they had "already sold too many vouchers that day." But last night really sucked. I went back with my boyfriend to cash in my piercing voucher. I look up the hours and see on their website that they close at 11pm on Saturday nights. We arrived at 9:30, kinda late, but they still should've been open. I remember them having a sign out front that said "Walk-Ins Welcome" so I assumed it wouldn't be a problem. We get there and the shop is completely closed up. No doors or windows are open, no light, no cars parked outside, nothing. I suppose another person had the same idea as I did because they turned into the parking lot before us and also had to leave. I was angry. What business advertises certain hours and then isn't even open for those hours? If it's not busy, fine, but that doesn't mean you close down 2 hours early. They lost two potential customers last night. I'll still be coming in to redeem my piercing voucher at some point, but I'll be doing it wishing I could have gone to redeem it somewhere else. read more

Came here to get a tattoo finished that was started at another shop. Had an appt. with Nicholas. Good price. Extremely professional. Actually listened to what I wanted in my tattoo. He fixed everything I needed and tatted it like it was his work from the beginning. Nicholas spent a lot of time and care finishing my tattoo and it looks amazing. I am very appreciative for that, and will be going to him from now on. read more
