This establishment does not practice safe tattoos!! While getting a flash tattoo last week, I witnessed multiple occasions of cross contamination, and unsafe practices. I would be surprised if this place hasn't given out numerous infections. As it did to me. My tattoo got infected, and I had to get medical attention. This place needs to get shut down. read more

Went here for some flash tattoos and my gf a Medusa piercing and the tattoos were alright (see edit) and very reasonably priced. However when she got her Medusa pierced by Hunter he put too short of jewelry in. I thought it was strange that I couldn't see ANY bar at all even right after the piercing so I was kind of worried about what would happen when it started swelling up but I figured he knew what he was doing. The next day she woke up and the back of the jewelry was nearly fully inside her lip and she had to take the piercing out. Painful and a waste of the $30 and $20 tip she gave him. Just be aware. Edit: I wanted to add- Hunter did some flash tattoos for me and I requested thick lines (more traditional style, I'm a tattoo artist myself and picked out designs they had that would do well with thicker lines) to go with the other tattoos I had already. He started off using a tight 9RL (NOT thick) and I checked with him that he was gonna do thick lines as I've often had experiences where I'd tell artists I want thick lines and they don't take that into consideration. He seemed put off by the request and I ended up with thin lines and am gonna have to have them thickened up (and some fixed all together) by another artist since they stand out a lot compared to my other tattoos. Not entirely mad about the tattoos since they're fixable but I don't understand why some artists don't listen to their clients. read more

I've been meaning to get more ink for the longest time and have had trouble finding availability with artists in the Phoenix. I decided to reach out to this tattoo shops in hopes that they would have availability. To my surprise they did! They were wonderful with reaching out to me, confirming the tattoos that I wanted, placement and size. They also had me fill out the consent form prior to my appointment which saved me time. I came here to get two tattoos done by Jen and she was awesome! She really took her time with placement and gave me feedback on sizing for one of my tattoos. As we were finished with the online paperwork and authorizations -which by the way was SUPER convenient Russ was ready for us to come back. Wife got her nose pierced and I got my lip pierced. The artists are knowledgeable. I have had 10 tattoos (7 flash & 3 custom) and one piercing done at Spark and I love every one of them. I constantly get asked where I got them done. I've been here twice now. Once for piercings about a year ago and got a tattoo today. I got pierced by Russ and he was great. Super nice, cool, and made it as painless as possible. Didn't have any problems with aftercare either and he went over things pretty well. I got tattooed by Jennifer and I loved her. Not too heavy handed and still did a great job. Very quick process and wait time (likely cause it was a Sunday). She didn't go over aftercare too well but I'm gonna assume it's cause I already had a tattoo so she figured I'd be well off enough. I decided I wanted my septum pierced and after asking around and looking at reviews, I thought getting pierced at Spark Project Collective would be a good choice. The space is different but clean and their piercer, Russ, was nice. Overall, the piercing seemed to go well. I was pierced on a Friday, and by Sunday night my piercing still felt tight and I had even developed a red spot/irritation on my nose. I had to remove one ball of the piercing to give my nose relief. Today (Monday) I wanted to see what was wrong so I went to another piercing shop which confirmed my fear: my septum had been pierced entirely way too high with jewelry that was too big. I'm not sure if other people have had a positive experience at this place, but I would say save your time and money: get pierced somewhere else. read more

This was my first memorable piercing (I have my ears but that was when I was a baby), and Russ made it really easy. I'd rate the pain level a 2.5/10; coming from a person with a low pain tolerance and who hates needles. It felt like exactly what it was: a needle going through your tongue. I decided to treat myself to a couple of flash tattoos for my birthday. I was able to easily book my appointment via Facebook and they had availability for the next day to my surprise! I arrived at my appointment on time due to traffic and not a bit early to check the place out. This is not your typical tattoo shop as it reads very family friendly. Upon walking in they greet you and have you choose your designs, then you are required to add your personal information including Driver's license # to be sure you are 18+ and who you say you are. The first area you walk into on the left has shirts, snacks, stickers, etc and glass cases so it's more of a store. They use a tablet to process cards and there is a small fee if you don't pay with cash. On the right side they have tables with all kinds of kid's toys for their autism family friendly events which I find amazing! Then in the back is where they have someone doing the piercings. Now, don't run away! They take you directly next door for your ink session. The next door area has what looks to be fresh paint in a very well lit area with curtains for privacy with multiple spaces so artists can work at the same time. Everything was very clean and they use gloves. I had Marina which is an apprentice do my flash tattoos. She was a sweet heart and had me in and out in no time. She had also mentioned that they will touch-up the flash tattoos free of charge once healed, if needed. I am looking forward to going back for my touch up and to look for my next piece! I would highly recommend them to friends and family. You definitely feel the love when you walk in. I'm also happy to give to a cause that does so much locally! The people here were nice but I would not recommend anyone come here. Came in just to have a flat back stud placed back in my nose piercing. When a piercer at a different shop put it in for me it took about two seconds and was painless. This time around the piercer here tapered my nose 4 times from the inside and outside and still wasn't able to figure out how to put it in even though my hole hadn't closed in the slightest. I was able to effortlessly put the stud in my nose at home I just couldn't see to get the post on so I really don't know why I had to be tapered so many times. A couple people came in and out of the room throughout which was off putting but eventually she asked for help from one of them. The new piercer initially told me my hole was closed and he'd have to repierce it?? After being corrected he put the back post in then dropped the jewelry stud on the ground and started looking for it while keeping his finger in my nose. I can't make that up lol. Beyond that experience, there was a bin on the ground open full of piercing forceps in some yellowed liquid and a few other things that just seemed kinda unsanitary to me. No harm no foul for me since we got the jewelry in eventually. I just thank god I wasn't getting a new piercing here and wouldn't recommend anyone to do so. read more

Had to go Friday the 13th even though they offer new sheets once a month for the whole month. I called in the day of and they had two appointments left! Got one of the tattoos from the blue boarder and it really turned out great! I was put with Bryce and he got the placement I wanted first time and the tattoo was done in less than 20 min (just line work and pretty simple). Bryce answered all my questions and gave me their card with info on care and said if I had any questions to contact them! Really everyone was super nice here. read more

Been here thrice for separate custom tattoos, most recently for shading done on a pre-existing flower piece. I was assigned Malia and filled out her form attaching a reference image for the piece. I went for the appointment and she was 30 minutes late. The entire place smelled like someone was smoking weed (not opposed to weed but not the most reassuring thing to smell before getting permanent ink on my arm). I got my shading done and went home, noticing it looked pretty dark in comparison to the reference image. I emailed her after and asked if she would be willing to do some highlights as a touchup as it was a tad too dark for me and vastly different from the original vintage poster I submitted as the inspo. She responded back and said "u didn't even mention a poster." I responded with a screenshot of my attachment of the poster on the request form and she said that there wasn't much she could do and that the original poster didn't even have that much shading to begin with. She insisted that any highlighting would not be considered a touchup and that she wouldn't do it for free. Understandable to an extent, but incredibly frustrating that she didn't even look at the reference picture, accused me of never mentioning it, then went back and said that it didn't even matter because my reference wasn't helpful to begin with . The prices here are good, but the service is lacking at times, and my experience with Malia was my worst one yet. read more

So first things first very much appreciated them squeezing me in. I was visiting from Portland OR and get a tattoo whenever I travel. This trip was no different. Nate agreed to do my tattoo and it turned out AHMAZING! His technique and speed are perfect and pricing is fair. I was treated well by all the staff and felt completely comfortable in the shop ! I went and got my helix pierced and my experience was horrible. I was taken back by an apprentice. When I asked why she was piercingly alone she said she's called an "apprentice who passed but is still called that until she worked for a whole year alone". She somehow got the needle stuck in my ear. Then proceeded to YANK IT OUT really hard. Making me bleed worse then I have for any piercing or tattoo. She then said I was a "bleeder" which she said in a rude voice. When I asked why the needle got stuck she said it was common and can happen with cartilage. I asked more then once for the sizing that she put in but she just said "I'll check in a moment" and never told me. It was terrible and very painful. I want to give five stars but can't. I love going to Bryce for tattoos here. He's incredible and does amazing work! So if you want a beautiful tattoo Bryce is the way to go! read more
