Craving fried chicken and neither Popeyes nor Chic-Fil-A appealed to me. This restaurant popped up on my Yelp feed, so I thought I'd give it a try. Small restaurant. Helpful service. Communal tables are available outside. I ordered a full-size order of Crispy chicken combo (wings and drumsticks) for my first visit since it was recommended it can be shared by 2 people. It came with small radish banchan. It did not disappoint! It was so good that I came back for dinner and ordered a half order of the Soy Garlic and Yang Nyum (Sweet & Korean chili sauce) chicken combos. Both were good; they had their own distinct flavors. Both had a nice kick! My next visit, I will try the Green Onion. You will not be disappointed by this korean chicken joint. If you're undecided what to order, you cannot go wrong with Crispy chicken. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and comes out piping hot! read more

We came here on a whim after a rainy day at the Stoneridge Mall. I did not feel like waiting in line for the Cheesecake Factory and opted to drive down to Tto Bong Ee for some grub. The owner/manager was gracious, patient, and attentive. We ordered some jalapeño chicken with mixed drumsticks and wings, the jap chae (jab jae), and crispy boneless chicken. Everything was well seasoned, the chicken crunchy and juice, and the noodles had a lovely bounce. I would say the boneless chicken is THE BEST I've ever had anywhere and would come back just for that dish alone. I highly recommend! read more

Their fried chicken is really good. I would recommend eating the food there because it's super fresh and maintains crispiness. The packaging is really cute. read more

You know a Korean chicken place is doing something right when they give you one of those three fingered disposable gloves :) We ordered the number 2 yang nyum chicken half as well as the jab chae. Both were great. I had both flats and drums. The nyum chicken was really tender: fresh, hot, crispy and lots of sauce. It wasn't that spicy, but you would consider it spicy for American standards. I especially liked they way they packaged the chicken. It came in a box with foil inside that kept the sauce from spilling all over and making the box soggy. It came with a side of pickled radishes which was standard and good. The jab chae was a large portion, hot and fresh. It was solid, well seasoned and with a good amount of veggies. I am used to having jab chae cold so for some reason I was surprised having it hot haha. Overall, the food was good and the staff were kind. I went during their soft opening, so I think people should expect to wait for their food while they are still figuring out workflow. If anything, I would be interested to see how well they do moving forward, also since they mentioned they had a supply chain issue too with the wings (their menu indicates you can choose to do only drums, only wings or drums and wings but when you order they said they can only do both). read more

This was interesting. Got soy garlic wings and onion rings. Onions rings were really good. The wings were baked. Not really the typical korean fried chicken I'm used to. Maybe I ordered baked chicken instead of fried on accident? Flavoring was alright. read more

4stars because of the long wait for your food. We ordered 1 whole chicken, half order of the original chicken and sweet potatoes. The owner was so kind and apologetic after my meal due to the wait and gave my family some Sodduck Soddcuk. As for my order EVERYThING tasted very moist and juicy especially the order of the whole chicken. I would definitely come back and try the other flavors. For the Sodduck Soddcuk, it was surprisingly very good. After the first skewer I figured out if you eat both the rice cake and sausage at the same time your tastebuds will thank you for the party. It was all Salty, spicy, sweet and sour flavor. One advice I would give to other patrons are that your order may take 30+ mins. I'm suspecting their kitchen is way too small for their operations to sustain multiple orders. Next time I may order in advance and eat outside. read more

Okay so this place has some BOMB chicken. The original crispy is DELICIOUS!!!!!! Possibly the best fried chicken that I've ever had. The only reason for my 4 star review is because they messed up my last order. I ordered two orders of the original crispy chicken over the phone and they gave me spicy chicken. The spicy chicken isn't bad and personally I don't mind a little spice but I was entertaining people who can't tolerate spice at all. This was very disappointing for my party and I had to buy another dinner elsewhere. read more

This place had great reviews so we decided to try it out. The reviews said the place was small so we came before dinner and was able to sit inside. After we ordered, they got really busy. We were scared we weren't going to get our food as the owner was telling everyone that there's a delay. However our food came out on time and everything was delicious. Definitely try this place out. Just don't come hungry during peak times. read more

Title: 5/5 Stars - Ttobongee Chicken: Unmatched Flavor, Incredible Sides, and Impeccable Service! My family and I recently discovered a fried chicken gem - Ttobongee Chicken! This place has taken our love for fried chicken to new heights, and we simply can't get enough of their Galbi Chicken, Jalapeño Chicken, and Soy Garlic Chicken. Each bite bursts with flavor, and the perfectly balanced spiciness allows for easy mixing and matching of the different options. The sides and snacks are just as impressive, with the Sodduck Soddcuk being a standout. These sausage and rice cake skewers, covered in a mouthwatering sauce, are a hit with my daughter - she just can't resist gobbling them up the moment they're served! The pickled daikon is another winner, providing a refreshing touch to complete the meal. Now, let's talk about their onion rings. Coated in the same crispy, savory batter as the chicken, they are an absolute must-try! Don't leave Ttobongee Chicken without giving these heavenly treats a taste. Although it's a small shop designed more for takeout, Ttobongee Chicken doesn't skimp on service. The giant touchscreen makes ordering a breeze, while the concise menu ensures a smooth experience both online and in person. Every visit feels special, with staff going out of their way to offer water and side radishes while we wait. The packaging is also top-notch, ensuring that our food remains fresh and delicious whether we eat it there or take it home. And the thoughtful inclusion of half-gloves to keep our fingers clean while devouring their amazing chicken is just another example of their excellent attention to detail. Ttobongee Chicken's thin batter creates a "less greasy, more flavor" experience that is simply unmatched. The perfect crispiness and unique recipe make this old-fashioned Korean fried chicken the best I've ever had. I can't imagine any other brand coming close! For a scrumptious meal that's perfect for any occasion - from a lazy night in to a cozy movie night or a get-together with friends - Ttobongee Chicken is the ultimate choice. Trust me, once you try it, you'll be a fan for life! 5/5 stars, without a doubt! read more

Ordered the #3, flavors were decent (nothing that stood out from any other Korean fried chicken place), some of the things I didn't enjoy was the inconsistent size of chicken you'll get, for a new Korean fried chicken spot in the area, I definitely didn't feel its worth the money you spend on it. I understand that this place is still in the soft opening phase, and I wish it the best of luck. read more

I've driven and walked by this place many times, and I didn't even know this place existed until a suggestion from my sister. I love fried chicken but until I came here I hadn't had good juicy crispy chicken with a very thin crust. Chicken here is very good and juicy and not greasy even when fried. Normally I would've taken 1 star off since the flavor or texture wasn't as advertised on one item, but because of the feeling of being welcomed when picking up I'll leave it as 5(further details at bottom). I ordered the galbi chicken and the soy garlic chicken with combo wings+drums. The soy garlic was delicious and lightly sweet and they even give you whole roasted garlic. The galbi chicken was a bit of a let down, as I thought it waould have some bbq flavor but all it had was mild heat, no sweet or smokey flavors. Chicken otherwise was great; so much so that I'd even consider trying their boneless wings. Something I would never consider elsewhere because it's just chicken breast strips and most places make them overcooked and dry. Customer service was exceptional, the cashier working front greeted me upon entry before I even walked all the way in; even though he seemed busy getting ready for closing down shop. All I did was show him a number and he knew who I was and my name when there were 3 other orders waiting for pickup, so that's a very big plus on attentiveness. read more

Their food was delicious, and the person at the front(I think the owner) was very prompt. However, the price is a bit on the expensive side. $30/10 drumsticks come out to $3 per drumstick. For a hungry family of four, expect to pay $60 easily for fried chicken. OUCH! read more

korean fried chicken goodness! we ordered half yang nyum chicken (fried chicken with sweet and korean chili sauce) that came with 6 wings and 3 drums and toppoki. we really enjoyed the food especially the yang nyum sauce, it was finger licking good. we also loved how the inside of the fried chicken was also tasty and flavorful whereas in other places, it usually is tasteless. definitely recommended to satisfy your fried chicken cravings! read more

Ttobongee Chicken - yang nyum chicken half - Korean Near Me - Pleasanton, California

Ttobongee Chicken is an original fried chicken chain straight from Korea. Just as I expected, the chicken is as amazing it can get. I tried the Yang Nyum and Crispy chicken, and they were absolutely bomb. Each one was fried just right and were really tasteful. The service was easy and nice, and I could tell by the 20-25 minute wait that they were actually cooking fresh fried chicken. I had the tteokbokki which was unfortunately nowhere near the quality of the fried chicken. The rice cakes were really soggy and practically drowning in the sauce. It tasted so fishy that I felt like I was in a seafood market. Everything else was great though, and I'll definitely be back. read more

Solid place to get Korean fried chicken! You order on the giant screen at the front -- no need to directly interact with the staff when ordering. If you're dining in, they will still provide attentive service, and the food is made fresh. I like that they include gloves (just for your thumbs and 2 fingers) for when you're eating the wings to not get your hands dirty read more

Visited for the 4th time today since I found out about it a month ago. I've almost tried every flavor on the menu at this point and haven't been disappointed once. My personal favorite is the green onion chicken. It has a ton of flavor from the sweet mustard based sauce it's coated in along with the strands of onion on top (make sure you take a bite of it along with the onion!). The whole fried chicken is also amazing when you just want something simple but done right. It's crispy without excessive batter and comes with a packet of salt for dipping (optional of course for those who complain religiously about "salty" food) which helps to make the flavors really stand out. Yes, you will be waiting 20-30 minutes on average, but you're getting hot, fresh chicken that's literally steaming when it arrives to you. If you're impatient and want food instantly, then you truly should just go for a fast food chain. High quality restaurants are not for you, no need to complain to the rest of us who have patience and don't mind waiting for fresh food. To cut down on the wait order online then drive over for pickup. I also really love the staff who work here! They're always super sweet and add to the reason why I like coming back. Really feels like a good local business you want to support so it can continue to grow. read more

best fried chicken in pleasanton hands down. big fan of the yang nyum and jap chae. extra yang nyum on the side

TLDR - tasty, better than bonchon, but a tad pricey Tried: * Crispy fried chicken * Soy garlic chicken * Yang nyum (marinated sauce) chicken * Sodduk sodduk (sausage rice cake skewers) * Dukbokki (spicy rice cake plus fish cake) The chicken was juicy, tasty. All flavors were really enjoyable. I just felt like it was a tad pricey. We got the combo (10 wings, 5 drums) for each flavor. It ranged from $26 to $30 per order of 15 pieces. I do not realize that if we ordered only wings or boneless it would have come with 20 pieces. I think that is a better value. The ddukboki was a'ight. The sodduk sodduk was yum, but a little sweet. The restaurant only has maybe five or six tables inside. But there's plenty of seating outside under large sail shades. Overall, still really enjoyed the chicken along with a large picture of Cass beer. Just wish the prices were more like $20-25 per order instead of 25-30. read more
