I'll admit that I'm by no means a bubble tea connoisseur or anything, but this is the best I've ever had. I'm blown away by the amount of flavors they have to choose from, and each one I've tried has been really tasty. My favorite is rose milk tea, but I'm also a big fan of the honey milk tea (with boba, of course!). I keep wanting to try some of the crazy other flavors, but I'm so loyal to these two I never really give myself a chance to! They also have a small selection of snack-type food, as well as different kinds of noodles, but I feel like it's all a little too expensive to consider buying. The setup is simple, with a couple couches thrown around and playing cards on the table. Whenever I visit, there are always at least a couple VCU students hanging out, sipping their teas. Great little place. If you're cruising through Richmond and in the mood for some super tasty bubble tea, TT Lounge is your spot! I always look forward to coming here as a little treat. read more

One of the better boba places in Richmond and this is where I come when I need my fix. They sell different varieties or bubble tea/slush/tea/etc and have lots of different flavors to choose from. Every time I have been there I have left satisfied. Parking can be a little difficult depending on the day/time you go, but for a lot of people in the city this is a walkable distance. read more

This is the best bubble tea place in the richmond area! They use real Boba and not that instant garbage, which is a BIG plus. My favorites are royal milk, taro, and the rose. The hours can be a little weird but it's a great place to pop in and pick up a tasty drink. Just remember to bring cash since there is a 5$ minimum. read more

TT Lounge - Rose milk tea - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Richmond, Virginia

Worse bubble tea place I've been to. An unfriendly lady took our order of three drinks and told us to wait 15 minutes without any explanation until we asked her. She said the bubbles are being cooked. Okay, fine but should have told us before we even placed the order. So I ordered the taro milk tea (my usual at bubble tea joints) which was on the top of their popular drinks list. It did not look right and surely it did not taste right either. It was just unbearable, I'm not sure if it was even taro flavor, just super sweet powdered-water and ice. I also had my friends to try it and they couldn't drink it either. I ended up throwing it away. One of my friends also threw away his almond milk tea. I certainly won't be coming back here when I'm in the area. If one of their popular drinks was this bad, I can only imagine how horrible everything else is. read more

They are not stingy with the boba, which is the best part! So far I've had the Taro, Mango and Strawberry. This is the best place to go before or after a hot day at the river. Caution: sip it slow or you might choke on a boba :o/ read more

TT Lounge - Cards games + milk tea! Perfect chill time - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Richmond, Virginia

Overall: 4 stars Best bubble tea in the area, but slightly prefer Kung Fu Tea. Great bubble tea with VERY good boba/bubbles and jelly, but average service. $5 minimum in order to use debit/credit card which can be inconvenient, but definitely recommend TT Lounge to those who like bubble tea. Food Quality: 4 stars Typically order the slush with jelly, and good flavor with the Mango or Lychee Slush, as it's not too watered down or full of ice. The bubble/boba and jelly are REALLY good. One of the better bubble tea places I have been to, but slightly prefer Kung Fu Tea. Service/Experience: 3 stars Average service. Nothing special, as they did get my order wrong but were quick to correct it. They gave me bubbles instead of jelly. Two inconveniences, are the location and payment. It can be difficult and tricky to find parking, and you need to purchase at least $5 worth to use debit/credit card, or pay a $0.20 fee (which is still not much). read more

I'm typically not a fan of bubble tea, but I LOVE tt lounge! I'm from va beach, and I know a bunch of my friends would come up to Richmond just to come here! My top two favorite drinks are the honey dew slush and the mango slush! My boyfriend has ordered about 10 different flavor slushes and he's loved every single one! We also always order extra boba! :) read more

When it comes to boba, this is one of the best places for it. I tried various places in the west coast and this really compares to them. I live in Virginia Beach, and I honestly made a trip to come here just for this and go back home without going anywhere else many times! That sounds crazy for a boba place, but you have to understand, we only have Bobalicious and it does not compare to TT Lounge. My two favorite drinks are honeydew milk tea and lychee. The other flavors are good too, but those are my drinks of choice. I just wish we had more places to go to for boba.... read more

I live in NYC and I CRAVE TT Lounge's bbtea...in RICHMOND, VA. You'd think I'd be happy w/ NYC bbtea in chinatown/flushing, etc. but no, i want tt lounge. tt lounge knows how to get the balls right. firm but not too firm. soft but not too soft. chewy but not too chewy. and sweet bc they are soaked in fructose liquid sugar. Everytime I'm in Richmond, VA i try my best to get bbtea from tt lounge! read more

Favorite boba place for years, i discovered this place five years ago. Its a great family hangout, and has the best drinks. Taro boba is my favorite, i recommend trying it. Thai tea boba, rose boba, mocha green tea boba, mung bean boba and the coffee boba are divine. read more

This place hasn't changed a bit. I came here my freshman year of college and its still the same owner... I'm sure the playing cards are still the same ones from back then also! Anyway, owners are funny and will let you sample certain flavors. I always go with one of my usuals, Taro or Thai milk teas with Boba. I don't think they do extra boba anymore. Either way, all flavors are delicious. BTW $5 min on credit. read more

I love the chill out atmosphere, I loved the banana milk tea and at first I didn't taste the tea(good thing) and then I started tasting it, it was very good also. Usually I'm not a fan of tea but it was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the orange slush and it was also delicious! (Maybe a little more than the banana milk tea..) I would love to come back here with more friends next time. (Also love that they serve instant noodles) it was a really "Asian" experience. read more

TT Lounge - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Richmond, Virginia

Solid choice for bobo/bubble tea however it can be on the sweet side for folks that are use to the fresh fruit variety. Unfortunately they don't use fresh fruit here but on a good note they are able to come up with different types of smoothies, teas and milk teas with boba or jellies. Another down side is that they tend to have hours that varies a lot, sometimes they aren't open when they are normally opened which can put a downer on your day if you have a craving for their stuff. However, compared to what's around, this place is good. read more

The original Boba Tea Lounge in Richmond and also where I had my first experience ( Boba Tea that is). I find myself comparing everyone else's boba tea to theirs. The boba is JUST the right consistency. Not too chewy, not too soft. JUST RIGHT. They also sell ramen noodles and have cards and board games for you to play. Last time I was there, they also had fresh baked cookies. I love it . Come check it out :) read more

Best bubble tea I've had outside of NY/Cali. The boba is always perfectly chewy, never overly soft, or (God forbid) hard/dense in the middle. They have a huge variety. I haven't tried most of the flavors, but you can't go wrong with the classic Royal Milk Tea with boba. Jasmine Milk tea is also excellent. A couple (pretty important) gripes - they are ALWAYS out of jelly. What is the dealio?! If you can't keep it in stock, take it off the menu! Maybe I should blame Taiwan's exporters? Also, the prices have been creeping up. My small size Royal Milk Tea with boba was a whopping $4.35! This stuff is pretty inexpensive and easy to make (I've done it before at home), the premium pricing is inexcusable. TT Lounge is in dire need of some healthy competition... read more

Came here everytime whenever in craving for some bubble tea. I'd say the best bubble tea in the richmond area. Their bubble are very sweet and chewy. TT Loung has a very extensive selection of drinks to choose from. Too many if you ask me. The drinks are pretty good, however, the reason why they are only receiving three stars is because the service is wasn't great. We weren't greeted, and it didn't seem like they wanted my business. I asked about several drinks - what they thought about it, what was popular, if they can describe the taste, etc. They responded the same to every question and said that it depends on the person if you would like it or not. Well, DUH! But I just wanted a general answer. If one drink is particularly popular among your guests, than I'd like to know which one! When I went to college at VCU and it first opened, the service was 5 star and they were so friendly. What happened in the past 6 years??? read more

Bubble Tea, one of the finest export from Taiwan. My first exposure for bubble tea was actually from Maria's bakery in DC. so in comparison, this is just as good, especially being one of the very few places you can get this around Richmond. To be honest, i've never had it while i was in Taiwan, but I'm sure I'll get another chance soon and then i'll be able to make a more critical comparison with the 'real thing'. but standing on its own, i have no problem saying it's the best in town and just as good as the ones in DC and Virginia Beach. Try the Taro or Coconut, it's creamy and good. I do hope that they have Durian soon. read more

One of my favorite boba places to hang out and have a drink! For some people, they may think TT means something else. Well, it's a boba place. Just be care when drinking your drink. You may choke on the tapioca balls! I love this place! read more

They have lots of flavors and will mix and match them for you. If two flavors don't go together, they will just just say so!!! I have been here once and tried mixing lychee and rose flavors and it turned out to be pretty good. My friends tried Taro ( was great) and almond ( not so good.. too much almond essence). It is a little pricey for a bubble tea, but it is one of the few places in Richmond which makes bubble tea and that could be the reason how they can retain the customers. read more

Small place, a little hard to find cause the sign isn't visible. But the boba is great. Will definitely go back again

Being from southern california where boba is very popular, I came here expecting overpriced, subpar "bubble tea", as it's called on the east coast. And I wasn't far off from my expectations; the drink was overpriced (over 4 dollars for just a normal cup), and definitley does not compare to anything on the west coast. However, if you're 2500 miles away from home, and just craving something to satisfy that boba craving, this place will suffice. read more

This place has a nostalgic feeling of an old, traditional boba shop in the 90's with no extras needed to make it stand out. The drinks are very flavorful and don't taste like they're made from concentrate. The owner is really nice and seems like he's been doing this for awhile. The honey milk tea was made with a special honey (not restaurant type) so it was sweet and not bland, and the hot almond milk tea was one of the best we've had. Would definitely come back! read more

Best place to get boba in the area! I've had better; all the flavors are pretty artificial tasting and it's a bit pricey. However, I love that this place is so close to VCU campus. Their honeydew flavor is my weakness - something about artificial melon is just so incredibly amazing to me. read more

I love this place, it's one of my favorite boba places in Richmond. The couple who run this place are so friendly and great to talk to. I found TT Lounge through yelp and visited when I was in Richmond. The menu was crazy long and the owner was really nice. He asked if it was my first visit to TT Lounge (it was), and gave me free samples of their most popular flavors - taro and almond milk tea. Both were delicious but I had already made up my mind to get mocha green tea when I saw it on the menu since I had never seen it elsewhere. The bf got lychee because he likes sticking with flavors he knows and likes. The lychee was so sweet and while I would have preferred a stronger mocha flavor to mine, the mocha green tea was still really tasty. The boba was slightly sweet and had a good chew to it which is just the way I like it. I can see why TT Lounge is so popular but I wish they used real fruit instead of powders. Then again, they probably have so many flavors because they use powders! read more

Pretty good, most of the time. Been coming here for about 10 years and have not really had an issue. Taro and royal milk tea are the best, in my opinion. Just the right sweetness. DO NOT order the Hibiscus flavor. It is SICKENINGLY sweet and artificial tasting. Think fruity soda with a cup of sugar added. No BS. I literally threw it in the garbage within minutes of trying to enjoy it. My boyfriend was shocked because I'm an infamous penny-pincher, and will usually suffer through not-so-good food items just because I don't want to waste them. read more

After discovering boba a few years ago, I was eager to try this place out seeing as how they specialize in the drink and have lots of flavors. I was not disappointed. Both times I have gone, the owner has been the one to serve me, and he has been very nice. When I told him it was my first time there, he gave me instructions on how to poke the straw through, gave me a to-go bag filled with ice to keep my drinks cold, and told me to ask for samples next time. Very helpful! I was impressed! As for the flavors, I have tried green apple, mango, honeydew, royal milk and taro. Green apple and mango were way too sugary and artificial tasting for me. Royal milk was ok and I wasn't a fan of the taro at all. But the honeydew is absolutely perfect! My favorite is the honeydew slush with boba. The flavor is perfect and the ice is blended very well. The boba is the best I have ever had - great flavor and perfect texture. The inside of this place is very cute too, with comfy chairs and couches as well as board games. I'm definitely coming back here again! Only downside - credit card minimum of $5 or a 20 cent fee. read more

Hit or miss. It's so frustrating how they change their hours (open late) and you only find out by going to the store and reading a handwritten sign on the door. This happened several times and it's such a turn off. Their boba is average. I've had better but for Rva, this is the only choice. I recommend the Taro, coconut milk tea, mango slushee, or lychee slushee. Their thai milk tea tasted way too artificial for me to order again. Their slushee also melts really fast by so you have to drink it really quickly and get a brain freeze, or take your time and drink juice. read more

Taro milk tea is always my favorite. I have come to TT lounge many times, and the tea is always good. This is the best place to go to when you have a bubble tea craving in the area. The bubble tea is pricey, but the quality is well worth it. Be sure to come in when there are not any long lines in the afternoon. Regardless of whatever time you arrive, they make sure to get everyone's orders accurately and you will not be disappointed in your bubble tea. read more

Decent boba place with some great flavors! However, they do not use real fruits. They use powders and for some flavors, it tastes artificial so I steer away from getting their smoothies and certain milk tea flavors. I do admit it's only because I am accustomed to having real fruit in my bubble tea! Their taro milk tea is one of their popular drinks. However from my experience, they use a lot of powder. There is residue and grainy texture towards the end of your drink. If you want to steer away from the super powdery stuff, their flavored teas are great! They don't put a lot of powder in the fruity ones. I love getting the passion fruit green tea. And for milk tea, I'm a big fan of their jasmine milk tea and Thai iced tea. Overall, a great boba place for Richmond! But I really only go here because it's the only one around close to campus. If there was another boba place that used real fruit, I'd prefer to go there instead. read more

Had the jasmine milk tea (hot) with chewy boba. It was pretty tasty and just the right boba properties. They even willingly give you boba with your hot drink (unlike some other bubble tea places I've been to before). A minor complaint is that the lady behind the counter is very Asian, as in very straightforward and trying to get things done quickly, which means treating customers like customers is not really a thing here. Oh well..drinks were good..that's what matters. read more
