I hate to do this, because TT Lounge has been my favorite local boba place for the past 10 years. Unfortunately, I am no longer happy with their boba anymore. Today, my order was wrong (received a small instead of large). I didn't feel like going back to the line to complain, so that part is on me. However, the boba did not taste sweet at all (had a soap quality taste), the consistency was either overly chewy (maybe not cooked all the way through?) or too soft/squishy, and the slush itself had an unpleasant gritty, powdery texture to it. I really want to continue supporting TT lounge, but when there's another option so close by with very yummy boba, I don't think I will return. :( read more

Huge menu with a large variety of options, good if you want to try new things but it's always hard to make a decision! A super cute, homey atmosphere with stellar service, employees are incredibly friendly and eager to help you out with anything you might have questions with. First of all TT kicks the ass of all Quickly bubble tea chains. It's on the same level as some of my favs in SF...those being Sweet Delight, I-Cafe, and Chai-Yo. I know my BOBA and this is damn good stuff. The owner is also a really nice guy. read more

This is where my husband nicknamed me Boba!! I started coming to this place when it first opened. I have tried every single bubble tea they've made. It's a small place where you get to hang out with your friends. It's not over priced like many of bubble tea joints and it's walking distance from the campus. I think the only bad thing is that there's rarely ever any parking spots, but I've never had to encounter that problem because in Richmond, you walk everywhere. read more

I am originally from California and I am used to the Lolicup quality of boba drinks and TT Lounge delivers. Great boba and drink flavors. My favorite is coconut milk tea. They even pack it up for you to go so that your drink does not get warm. Great service, great drinks. read more

Solid choice for bobo/bubble tea however it can be on the sweet side for folks that are use to the fresh fruit variety. Unfortunately they don't use fresh fruit here but on a good note they are able to come up with different types of smoothies, teas and milk teas with boba or jellies. Another down side is that they tend to have hours that varies a lot, sometimes they aren't open when they are normally opened which can put a downer on your day if you have a craving for their stuff. TT Lounge is an excellent Richmond business. The two owners, and only staff, are happy to answer questions and provide samples if you're a boba newbie. They offer a wide variety of flavors and I've loved almost everything I've gotten! The taro, Royal, matcha (not listed - but they have it!), papaya yogurt slush, and honey milk tea are my favorites. The prices are great - though as others have pointed out, there is a $0.20 fee for orders below $5 if you're paying by card. They are also happy to modify your order - less sweet, etc. TT is awesome! read more

Ok after a few hours in L&D I was not able to read the sign to realize they are CLOSED MONDAYS, so I take back my negative review and go back to 4 stars. The Coffee slush with boba is what I enjoyed today. Had the Rose slush yesterday, was good but a little overly sweet by the end. Still love this place though, even if the lady who works there is kinda like the "tea nazi" when she calls out your drinks (think soup nazi from Seinfeld). read more

This is the standard for all bubble teas. No matter where I go, bubble tea does not measure up to the TT Lounge. They provide varied and incredibly delicious flavors. The boba is always the perfect consistency, and their cup sealer makes them easy to travel. Taro is definitely the best, but I love their classic bubble milk tea too. The best boba I had. The boba is made perfectly .. not too mushy or uncooked which I found in other places. There's a variety of flavors. My fav is the green tea mocha slush. Love, love, love this place! We don't have many bubble tea places back where I'm originally from so I was so happy to be close to one when I moved to RVA. Convenient for any VCU undergrad student. Typically 2 people work here, so there can be a bit of a wait if there's a ton of people. 2 stars mostly because the service is horrible. 3/4 times I've been there, there was a woman working who had the worst attitude every time. Makes me feel as if I should take my business elsewhere, which is exactly what I'll do. Also the whole "no extra boba" thing is a mistake. I used to work at a pho restaurant and we made so much money on people ordering extra boba for 50 cents or whatever. Her reasoning was that they cook their boba better than other places? 2 out of the 4 times I've been, the boba was overcooked and didn't taste superior at all. To conclude, if the service wasn't so bad each time I've been inside, I would probably rate 3 or 4 (since the boba itself isn't even that great), but the woman, who I assume is the owner, left a bad taste in my mouth. The one good thing I'll say though, is they do have great Thai tea. Doesn't taste powdery like some other restaurants do sometimes. read more

I've been here a few times and have had mixed experiences so far. The first time I came here, I really didn't understand why people were so crazy about TT Lounge and bubble tea in general because my royal milk tea tasted kind of weird (I've since had better royal milk tea), but on this occasion, I got their taro milk tea, and it was really good-I finally see the hype behind it. Their tapioca pearls are a lot more chewy than I like, which is why I didn't like it in the first place, but it's worth it for the taro milk tea. I'd have to try more flavors for a more definitive and complete review of TT Lounge, but I'm a fan based on my most recent experience. P.S. The place lives up to its name in that it is a very good place to lounge around-the couches are super comfortable and you can play cards and checkers with your friends when it's not super busy. read more

Satisfies a bubble tea craving if you've got one. My favorite flavors are the Taro and Green Tea Mocha slush. The only thing I don't like and kinda don't understand is that they run out of boba pretty often. They were out 3 of the 7 times I have been, and it definitely threw me off guard! It's in a convenient location, and this place offers many flavors. But the staff isn't the friendliest. And they specifically have a sign that says "no refunds or exchanges". The interior design so something left to be desired; it looks like they bought all of the furniture off of Craigslist. my boba tea flavor was a miss (i don't specifically remember what flavor I got; I just remember it being an esoteric flavor that I hadn't remembered ordering anywhere else). My date ordered the taro tea, and it was pretty good. Their teas are creamy and thick, if you're into that texture with your boba tea. You can also get the flavored jellies over the boba. i can't say I've ever been disappointed with the drinks i've had from TT Lounge. i've been a fan since i started college almost 9 years ago! they have a selection of popular drinks listed on a sideboard next to the register. one of those is taro milk tea, my number one selection when i go to any bubble tea cafe. if i don't like it, i never go back.. harsh, but if i taste fruit loop taro or the color is brown, trust i don't go back. tt lounge is always on point with their taro, so it's safe to say i've had it more times than i can count. i've also had flavors like royal milk tea, almond, and mango slush. they're all so good! i had red bean milk tea once and it was a bit grainy. some of the slushes can be a bit sweet, so i'd read other reviews on that. their milk teas are powder based, but aren't powdery at all when blended/shaken/stirred. the boba isn't fall-apart-soft or firm. it's tender, as strange as that may sound. i also get the rainbow jelly (different jelly flavors) sometimes and adds a nice change in flavor when drinking the same flavor until your cup is finished. so good! read more

They definitely have some of the best bubble tea in the area; however, their service is absolutely awful. The lady gave me an attitude when I accidentally got some of my drink on the counter after I put the straw through the seal. They are also closed basically whenever they want and it's frustrating when I go out of my way there just to be disappointed. TT Lounge is a must-stop in RVA. The last weekend I was there, I went twice! Their bubble tea is my favorite and they have a great selection of tea flavors. However, they do sometimes run out of "bubbles," and it takes a while for them to make it. That won't stop me from coming though; as long as you're with good company, the wait is not that bad! read more

So even though I lived in RVA as a student at one point, I never got around to going to TT Lounge till this past weekend. So the variety is amazing and the prices are just right. I ordered the Green Apple Slush w/ boba and my boyfriend ordered the Coffee Milk Tea w/ boba. The boba drinks are delicious! The green apple was really strong, but that's exactly what I wanted so it was great. I got to try the coffee one too and it didn't seem to sweet or creamy, the perfect combination for coffee. The boba is perfectly cooked, so it was gummy and sweet. The establishment itself isn't anything fancy, but it's a true local spot for "richmond-ers" and VCU students. I'll definitely be getting more boba from here. read more

I have yet to find a better bubble tea than that from the TT Lounge--even in DC, I'm still searching. The TT Lounge a humble place, and it doesn't even have permanent signage--but they sheer amount of options you have for the bubble tea (in terms of flavors, hot/cold, slush, etc.) will rock you. As well, it's just delicious. They have some comfortable seating, but most times I'm content to wander around the rest of R-town, happy with my taro milk tea in hand. The TT Lounge has a few food options, but it's mostly just instant ramen and cookies. If you're coming here for food, you're coming for the wrong reasons. read more

With several different flavors and styles of bubble tea to get from Mango slush to Thai tea and the combination of a choice of boba or jelly, they have plenty to satisfy the different tastes and craves. They also a have a great seating area with cards, chest board, and coaches to help you even more to enjoy your bubble tea. HANDS DOWN THE BEST BUBBLE TEA YOU WILL EVER HAVE. I have been to a millllllion places for bubble tea and NOTHING tops this one. The only complaint I have is that there is no DURIAN FLAVOR!!!! GR. The capslock is necessary, by the way, to emphasize how much I am in love with the tt lounge. Oh and besides the lack of durian flavor, the fact that there is the saying "nothing's better than life's simple pleasures" (or something of that nature) above the bathroom door strikes me as odd. I introduced two friends to bubble tea here and it's fantastic. The taro milk tea was amazing, like the leftover milk after you finish your Cocoa Pebbles cereal. My friend had the mango milk tea and it hit the perfect balance between sweet and sour. I'd give them 5 stars if there was a bit more seating but for real, the boba was amazing. read more

Still the best Boba drink place in the area I've had (including DC). Taste and consistency of the boba is very good. I tried a Royal Milk Tea slush and it was excellent... not too sweet and flavorful. The hours of the store is somewhat limited so check before going. I'm about a couple hours away so I make sure they're open before trekking over there otherwise I'd be bummed out after thinking about their drinks. read more
