Tsunami was amazing! We went there for a coworkers birthday and I couldn't have asked for more. Servers were amazing and made our experience great! If you are celebrating an event, this could definitely be a cute spot for it. The restaurant accommodated 10 of us. They seated us quickly and our waitress was very attentive. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and made personalized suggestions for each person. Restaurant was also extremely good at handling allergies. We got a plethora of rolls across the table and most things were so good. There were a couple of rolls that were not my favorite and the miso soup was overly salty, but those two things were literally the only downsides of my entire experience. Verdict: if you're in Annapolis definitely give Tsunami a try!

MORE BAR THAN RESTAURANT: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Sporting loud music and dark themed lighting, Tsunami has made its bar the center attraction for this sushi spot on West Street.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The hip(per) vibe (relative to neighboring Rams Head and Stan & Joe's) attracts a younger clientele.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To Tsunami's credit, two well trained bartenders can amp your drink to cocktail status. The apps and sushi are decent and affordable. Enjoyed the seaweed salad, but found our other apps just "too much": hamachi jalapeño too hot and the popcorn shrimp too fried. On rolls, would recommend the Metropolitan and Kamikaze, and skip the Scotia (just "off").

Grey Matter wasn't terrible, but wasn't good.

Would not go back. This was the third time we have been here. Bar service was terrible, drinks were not good, food was overpriced for the serving size. The food itself is good but nothing spectacular. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience is nice and we like the idea of the place[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] but the bar service was so bad we will not be returning.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance was relaxing and peaceful, very quiet indoors.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat at a table, but they have seats at the bar as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Spinach & Goat Cheese Dumplings were mediocre, lacking flavor and very small pieces. I've seen guests photos online of the same dumplings but larger portion, doesn't look like photos online which is disappointing. Loved the shiitake mushrooms!! And the creme brûlée was great as well. Our server did an excellent job taking care of us.

3.8 stars. I love this restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The environment is rad and the staff is always so kind.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The ding in my score is for their sushi. My family and I LOVE their tuna lollipops- the smokiness in the seasoning is to die for. However my boyfriend hates when sushi is smokey so he doesn't like them at all. We got 6 rolls of sushi as well and while he loved them, I couldn't get past how dense the rice was. It was like my delicious fish was wrapped in wet concrete and it really bothered me. The shrimp/shiitake roll was surprisingly lovely, as well as the Maui roll with the pineapple. All in all we had a lovely date night!

It appears that I can't visit DTA without stopping at Tsunami. It is also my favorite spot to showoff to those who haven't been down to DTA or Tsunami in general (I obviously will take any excuse to go). The food is amazing. Drinks are great. Every staff member is gorgeous and easy to talk to...Why wouldn't I want to come back here EVERY visit to DTA? This review is simply to shoutout staff members for being awesome but to also add some yummy pictures.

Despite it being a very very busy evening, and not having reservations - the team was kind enough to find a table for my cousin and I. We were on a tight time crunch, so us not having to wait, as well as the super fast service was perfect. The food and drinks were good. The sashimi was fresh, and the presentation was tiptop. I would recommend coming here for dinner before an event at Rams Head - it's super duper close to the venue and has great options.

The food here was very mid to me. First I ordered the edamame and it was very salty. As I got to the bottom it was more edible. The sushi was very just blah. It wasn't good but it wasn't terrible. It was smaller in size. The ramen was probably the best dish we tried and it was also just ok to me. It wasn't bad but nothing I'd want to go back to eat.

    Shrimp Rice Bowl

Pretty disappointing overall. Bao buns were a great start but downhill from there. Overreduced sticky rib sauce, flavorless udon and the worst part - completely uncleaned shrimp. I had to send back because it was dangerous to eat - no attempt to devein.

Warning-if you're a true sushi aficionado do not come here expecting high quality rolls. Instead their rolls are of the grocery store caliber so please keep that in mind. I tried Tsunami for the first time last night and read the reviews and thought their sushi would be better than average, but needless to say I was disappointed. I had the kamikaze and Maui roll and didn't think the fish was so fresh. Tsunami is a hip Asian fusion bar more than a restaurant. Inside it is so dark that you will need your phone's flashlight to be able to read the menu. On the positive side they have a great cocktail menu that is reasonably priced. Also the music is so loud that it is difficult to have a conversation. The service was average too. Nothing exceptional, not rude but not very pleasant. Overall come here to listen to music and drink.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Love the ambiance of this restaurant even on a Tuesday night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]A perfect date night spot, even though I went with some friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The star of the show was the braised pork belly appetizer; it was sweet, savory, tender, with so much flavor in a single bite. I wish there was a meal with this same meat and rice! The chili garlic edamame was amazing too! The sushi was good too, some rolls were better than others, but I wish there was a larger menu. There's only a handful of chef rolls. Drinks were strong so you're getting your moneys worth! Overall, had a good time and will be coming back!

Does Tsunami still offer half off sushi on Sundays? If so, what hours?

Full On Craft Eats. The Toast online ordering system was easy to navigate and adorned with pictures of every menu item. I could not get past the onion rings on the starter menu hoping they would taste as good as they looked. My friend offered to split the Slammin Salmon sandwich and onion rings since she has had it before and never finished the entire thing. I took her up on it and the order was placed. A quick ask for mom to grab it on the way home and the food made its way back quickly. WOW is all I can say. When you order food to go there is a level of expectation that it will not be as good as it is at the restaurant, especially fries and onion rings. But in this instance WOW. Talk about food that travels well. Fourteen minutes away and the food was still warm, the onion rings were so crisp, and the garlic and dill aioli and onion ring sauce were just right. The Slammin Salmon was served on ciabatta bread that was not too soft not too hard, with salmon cooked perfectly. The lemon dill aioli was a game changer so much that my friend's advice to order extra was well received and committed to memory. The onion rings lived up to the hype, cooked perfectly with a crust I cannot even explain. The kind you bite into without losing the entire onion from the breading. Dip it into the sauce and you have a match made in heaven. Half the sandwich was more than enough but the next day I would have loved some leftovers. Now for the extra razzle dazzle. I left to visit a friend in DC and sent him the menu, shared my experience and he was locked in to try. Online ordering was closed since they were closing at 10pm so I called as a last-ditch effort since the anticipation was already there. The nicest most warm individual answered ten minutes before closing and was more than happy to take my order. She even made sandwich recommendations. I quickly arrived at a shopping center that was easy to get in and out of. Walking in you immediately arrive at the counter and takeout area to your left with a nice bar area a short walk past on the right. The cooks and wait staff were having the best time using the 6/7 saying that was all over social media late last year. They were considerate when they noticed I was in the restaurant, but I assured them I loved their energy. I see why the food is so good because the energy shows it was made with great vibes and laughter all around. As I grabbed the bag to leave the hostess stopped me to add another fork and extra napkins since I would need them to add the pickled veggies on my sandwich. Such a nice touch. Thirty plus minutes to DC and the food still did not need to be reheated. The Mai Thai sandwich was a hit with flavors that married well and the onion rings delivered again. The Spicy Thai wings were good for wings but typical. They had a lot to compete with.
