This place is amazing for your matcha fix. Their desserts and food options are so good and the location is great (ample seating and clean). I recommend any matcha latte, the ice cream, the matcha cheesecake, and the tiramisu. Fast service and friendly staff.

Tsujiri was amazing!! I really wanted to try this place and I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to make it and I made it 15 minutes before closing, but they said that they could still make a Matcha Parfait for me and that I could hang out until the place closed. They made the Parfait so fast and I was so impressed. It was delicious and this place also had really nice and cool vibes - if I ever get the chance to visit Montreal ever again in the future, I'll definitely stop by here again! :)

Tsujiri is the perfect place to have lunch before going to the Montreal Museum of Fine Art. And if you're done early you can grab dessert too. First, you order at the front counter and then you pick a table and they'll bring your food to you from the kitchen. The ambiance is that of a casual but cozy cafe. The food is warm and comforting without being heavy. The kitsune soba is served with a warm clear yet flavorful broth and two slices of delicious tofu. My friend enjoyed the dashi chazuke with unagi which comes with a ton of side dishes. With our lunch we got a kuromitsu latte and an oat milk matcha latte respectively. The kuromitsu latte was nice and flavorful but the oat milk matcha was a little too milky and lacked the rich earthiness of a great matcha latte. Despite the disappointing matcha oat milk latte, my friend and I wanted to try the desserts but the lunch and matcha lattes were pretty filling. I'm looking forward to coming back to try the desserts the next chance I get to be in Montreal.

The iced matcha americano has the right amount of kick that is refreshing. From different places offering iced matcha latte, Tsujiri is the winner! The matcha flavor dominates without leaving the bitter aftertaste and the milk is at the right amount, offering a creamy taste that complements the matcha perfectly!

I love matcha. I was excited to have some matcha from Tsujiri! The inside was very cool and modern. I got a latte with soy and brown sugar. I ordered at the counter and they gave me a buzzer so I'd know when my order was ready. It was so good to have a warm tea on a winter day. I was curious to see the food items and desserts they offer here. I would love to come back for lunch!

Great matcha tea based resto serving lunch meals (tried the tonkatsu soba) , tasty adzuki matcha and yummy dessert that is not too sweet.

Mmmmm yummy !! good neighborhood to visit when you're in the area -- really yummy matcha. I tried the roasted soybean matcha.. I would've preferred less of the soybean powder on top of the ice. I had to mix it in thoroughly to make sure it wasn't a grainy texture. After the initial distaste of matcha & mixing everything, the taste was amazing - nutty , earthy, and a little sweet. Perfect if you want to try something other than the original matcha Lots of seating available & free wifi. Good place to study or meet with friends. There's outdoor seating available too!

If you love matcha, you will love the matcha ice cream here! The ice cream is nice and creamy and you can taste the matcha and Hojicha flavor! I got the parfait with the jelly on the bottom with matcha and Hojicha swirl. The jelly on the bottom was not my favorite to be honest, but would come back for the ice cream!

Suchhh good matcha ice cream! I was also pleasantly surprised by their other desserts (roll cake) and food (soba noodles and salmon bowl). I'm actually sad I found this on my last day in Montreal because I would have definitely made multiple visits had I discovered this spot earlier! Very cozy seating, saw many people work on laptops on the upper level. We grabbed a seat at a table and had an outlet right next to us. Super friendly and welcoming service. Would recommend to anyone who loves matcha!

REAL AUTHENTIC MATCHA! I could come here EVERYDAY if I could! They have drinks, snacks, MEALS, and desserts! I could stay here all day and not move! I love their matcha ice cream it was so creamy and you can definitely taste authentic real matcha and it's perfectly sweetened as well! I also got the hojicha ice cream swirled and it was super rich in flavor. Definitely one of my favorite combos! The dango mochi is seasonal and it was so yummy! Perfectly chewy but doesn't stick to your teeth. It was matcha, strawberry and I think peanut flavor? Not sure about the last one. The matcha dafuku was super delicious as well it had a nice creamy mousse texture in the middle and thin mochi on the outside. Overall, everything tastes as as good as it looks! Can't wait to try their whole menu!

Very aesthetic little shop tucked away behind some scaffolding my friend and I barely found it. Luckily we looped back around and saw the cafe behind some construction. The cafe is very cute and everything you could think of was made with matcha. The desserts were very green tea forward which was delicious! *Weird Yelp won't let me add my video of the dessert case -__-

Yummy on a rainy day

Very good on a rainy day, warm and the side dishes add savory and tanginess to the dish.

I came here after visiting the original Tsujiri years ago (see my review). This chain is similar to the original in Kyoto and they know how to brew matcha as well as the signature parfait. It didn't disappoint on a hot summer day in Montreal. Definitely a must visit in Montreal and have the parfait if nothing else.

The decoration in the store is great. The glacé is great. The wait time for order and for food is too long.

Tried their matcha soft ice cream. It was expensive but I thought it was worth it. Would have been nice if it was just slightly bigger.

Even during peak summer season the restaurant was crowded and even had a line starting to form at peak lunch hour. There are not very many large tables so don't expect a large group to be sitting together. The menu is pretty straightforward with the typical miso, tonkotsu, and shoyu broths. But they even have a tomato broth with Hokato scallops for those more adventurous. We ordered the Tonkotsu Black $19 & the Tonkotsu+ $19. Is it pricey for Ramen? Yes. But was it worth it? Yes. The Tonkotsu Black had a rich broth with prominent garlic oil. The Tonkotsu+ was really the show stopper. With 3 different styles of meat: Smoked pork pastrami, meatballs & chashu. The truffle oil was fragrant and earthy. But the biggest surprise was shiitake mushrooms. They were marinated/seasoned to perfection, with a hint of sweetness. I would've been happy with just a giant bowl of shiitake mushrooms, and truffle oil. The broth was much lighter and delicate than the Tonkotsu Black, yet strong on the truffle. If you're not really a fan of truffle, do not get this. We were tempted to go back again, but we opted to try other restaurants around the downtown area. 10/10 Would go back again! The staff are very friendly and quick. Give it a try! They have multiple locations, especially if you're looking for something new, yet comforting.

Once seated, things happen very quickly...it is go, go, go (in the best possible way.) We ordered appetizers first, the tempura green beans with a delicious truffle mayo, gyoza and the tofu salad (they make it fresh every Sunday). Green beans were everyone's fave, but I have to mention the (pickled?) vegetables on the salad. So flavourful! Also tried the egg drop soup which is so tasty. Mains were the salmon tuna bowl, the beef short ribs, the shrimp burger, and 48 hour pork with curry sauce. Everything was wonderful! Finished with their soft serve ice cream, I had the cherry blossom but one of us had the sake, which is a shot of sake poured on top. Amazing! You can even have wasabi or ginger... I'll try that next time (and there will be a next time soon!)

You can also order to go here I believe. They really operate efficiently, expect fast service! Tables are tightly situated and there's a cozy bar situation where I sat this time, able to watch the chefs cook right in front of me. The daily specials are posted on their Instagram page, as well as written on pieces of paper around the restaurant. My server quickly helped me to water and a glass of sake. I placed a to go order for one of the daily specials, the grilled sea bass with sushi rice and salad, with some kimchi. I also ordered the BBQ chicken with tortilla and salad, as well as vegetable gyoza. Everything was incredible. Truly. The gyoza came topped with green onions and was SO crispy and hot and was perfect with their soy sauce. I thought sea bass was wonderful with a unique almost smoky flavor that melted in my mouth paired with the slightly sweet sticky rice. The barbecue chicken was great as well and better the next day. One thing I don't really understand is why they served plain flour tortillas cut into quarters with their food. We didn't utilize this, nor the white butter/mayo sauce that came alongside it. I hope to eat here often, for years to come and am so happy to see this iconic Japanese restaurant still thriving years later.

I really appreciate the ease of booking and how I didn't have to think about what people were going to order. One hiccup was that I had indicated ahead of time that one of the guests had a seafood allergy, which I understand can be difficult for Japanese restaurant. I had expected them to tailor the $70 menu to her, however, they let us know that it was gonna be difficult and instead asked her to pick from the à la carte menu. She had no problem with this, but I felt bad and didn't want her to think that I had an indicated ahead of time of her dietary restriction. Overall, the meal was good. It was a little bit slow to start coming out. I think our total dining time was over two hours which was fine because we were celebrating something but for the first 30 minutes I feel like no food came out. A little bit on the salty side, but I enjoyed every dish. For the price point I think it was perfect. I would recommend this for a group dinner again. The high top tables weren't the most comfortable for such a large group as we were essentially split in two, but for a group of 6-8 it would be perfect!

I will note that some of the soy beans we got were the biggest I've even seen. Furakake added needed flavour. - Avocado Truffle Tacos: OK. Quite tiny, but well made and tasted good. I didn't get any hint of truffle though. - Wagyu Dumplings: Good. But similar to any good quality non-wagyu dumpling I've had before. Overpriced. - Paradise Maki: Good. I like the texture of the tempura. - White Dragon Maki: Very good. I think the ponzu sauce elevates this dish another level. Service was pretty standard. I stopped by around 8:45 PM, 15 minutes before they closed, but the staff were so kind and lovely, let me dine in, gave me a free drink on the house, and even told me to take my time and not worry about closing. I ordered the spicy garlic pork ramen with thick noodles, and I was blown away with how flavorful the broth and QQ (chewy) the noodles were. I didn't like the pork that much and found it a bit tough and gamey, but they do have two other types of meat (chicken, beef) as well as a vegetarian option available, as well as seasonal menu specials. The Ramen - noodles were perfectly cooked, however honestly package ramen had a better flavor than their Original pork ramen unfortunately. I had expected this rich and creaminess of the pork broth, that was sticky-lipped intensifying, but it was not. This was disappointing and thus can only give 2 stars. I can't say for other noodle type, but original pork ramen needs a lot of work.
