Of course airport security is an abysmal experience. One helpful tool I would recommend is a sign. Give me a sign! Tell passengers why we have to perform personal antics to satisfy TSA. Here's my sign: You must remove your shoes, belt and jacket because you might be hiding something. Remove your iPad or laptop and place it in a bin or you will be held up later while and agent searches it. Remove your bottles of lotion or shampoo and place them in a bin. If you don't, you will wait while an agent opens your bulging suitcase and lays eyes in your bottles. Don't forget to clear out your drink bottles! I hate being stopped for this reason. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! So they flip flopped the TSA Pre-check / CLEAR lines again. Then I'm actually waiting in a line to go through security. Then every pilot is cutting line which is BULLS$$T cause they should have alternative passage way. Now this is where IT hits the fan! Folks I'm wearing sweatpants & shirt. I go through x-ray and they say we need to frisk you down the system showed something in groin area.. I know I'm gifted but not for x-ray to have an issue.. So the gentleman who's now embarrassed shares the good news of how he needs to violate me. I felt like Jody Foster in "THE ACCUSED", I'm completely man handled out in the open. Needless to say I passed with flying colors and now he's scared for life of rubbing between my legs & butt. He should have done the moonwalk after the groping since I came close to being a Michael Jackson victim... Get your act together TSA ! read more

TSA North Checkpoint - Watch out for the BIG TSA FAN - Public Services & Government Near Me - Seattle, Washington

This review is for Checkpoint 5, which I believe is the same location as this listing for the North Checkpoint as it is the closest checkpoint for the D & N gates. The checkpoint is currently temporarily closed until late this year or early next year. It is being renovated before the World Cup arrives next year. The renovation is supposed to add more space and increase the queue area, which is much appreciated. It was the one checkpoint I avoided at Sea-Tac specifically for those reasons. The line seemed to move slower as a result of the way that the checkpoint was structured. Here is hoping that the new checkpoint is much improved. In the meantime, I would check the wait times at each checkpoint and suggest scheduling a Spot Saver appointment for a quicker trip through the TSA line at Sea-Tac. read more

NOT a fan, TSA check point employees are RUDE. My spouse is in a wheel chair and we were being guided to the checkpoint, we were pushed back in the beginning so those who just signed up for their free 'Clear' service could go through. Wheelchairs do have priority, it took our wheelchair service lady going to two different checkpoints to get us though. We then head to the scanner - I've flown 3x already this year with the same items, same luggage etc. our items go on the belt and the VERY RUDE tall gentlemen with brown hair snapped us me to don't push the bin. The bins stayed on the table, we then walk through and my bag was pulled (my sunscreen was just too big). As him and his coworker talk about what they had for breakfast and their lunch plans all while holding my bag, I asked if we could check my bag so I can get on my flight. I got an eye roll. As he goes through my bag and takes out my sunscreen he rudely tells me, "You have access to the internet and it's been a rule for 10 years you need to check that or I'll take it". I told him I've flown the last 3 flights without any problem - and told him to squeeze out the excess. He was zipping my items in the zipper so I said I'll zip it. As I walked away he said loudly "Yeah you need to just walk away". I went back to confront him and get a supervisor at which point he had deer in headlight look and said I didn't say that! I will be filing a formal complaint. Don't be rude to your customers you have a job because I fly - and guess what my sunscreen would not have harmed you, me or anyone flying. TSA Precheck is an awesome program for those that are frequent travelers and who have proven to be of no threat....evident by such program participation as the Global Entry and the NEXUS to name a few. So, if your selected into the TSA precheck this is a good thing as you breeze through the screening process....you don't need to undress or give away your first born child...it is painless and QUICK....did I just say QUICK....Yes I did, in fact, while the standard security line is huge, and getting your stuff through the xray machines is equally as long sometimes, this precheck process is absolutely painless.... twice now I have been selected and each occurrence took maybe 15 seconds...and only because the guy or lady ahead of me was taking their time..... read more

TSA North Checkpoint - Public Services & Government Near Me - Seattle, Washington

I really like the north checkpoint, commonly referred to as the N Terminal security checkpoint or even the Alaska security checkpoint since only alaska planes use the N terminal. Sure it has its flaws but it is twice as fast as using the central checkpoint or the international checkpoint at the other end of departures. There is the TSA Pre line, where you pay a yearly fee to have a smaller line and not have to remove your shoes. There is a line between that and general boarding where they randomly select lucky souls I go through pre-check without having paid the fee. There are two general boarding lines, one of which shares TSA agents with the last line, first class. The ladies who work the first class line typically let you use it if you are running late. There are three distinct areas once inside. TSA pre gets their own section. The second section is the main one, straight behind the TSA agents that check in your boarding pass. The third is down a hallway to the right of the main security section. Do everything you can to avoid the back section because the hallway is a long line that divides into several more lines for the scanning machines. I always use the left general boarding line just in case. From there it's an escalator and a quick train ride to the N terminal, with its own Starbucks, Burger King, bar, and bagel deli.c read more

WOW!!! This check point has the new automated bin collection service AND TSA pre check!! I was not in the process for more than 7 minutes! I wish I would have timed it because I was probably in for less! Truly great service and speed compared to some other airports! read more

The good: The bag check screener was friendly and had a useful suggestion about how one of my carry-ons should go on the belt. The bad: mid Sunday afternoon 8/9. It took over 50 minutes standing in line to be processed. There were three lines. PRE-Check, and then the regular line that split in two after already standing in line for 15 minutes. The person in front of me went in the left one I and I went in the right. a couple of minutes later a TSA agent started to move people at random from only the left line to the PRE-Check line. The person who had been in front of me got to the podium a good 15 minutes before I did. Good for him. No one in the line that I was in even had a chance at that bonus. The problem is that the available area is too small to run enough scanners for the number of people that need to use the check point. The TSA collects a fee of $5.60 per person, per flight. How about using some of that revenue to improve the service? read more

Normally TSA pre-check is awesome but today was horrible. The screener was yelling at everyone and was rude and not helpful. He was impatient, caused confusion and created a big back log. His behavior created stress for two other TSA agents who started treating people in a similar manner which was totally unacceptable. Because they have the power to detain you in a room and cause you to miss your flight I didn't say anything to him. We did however report him to his supervisor. A number of people were upset by his rude, aggressive and inappropriate behavior. This man is the reason TSA gets a bad rap. I wish I would have seen his name. The TSA ID checker, was rude and disorganized. We were given a time stamp so they can see how long it takes to go through security, and they failed miserably. From the old, rude, male officer checking my ID and going through the metal detector took 15 minutes. They decided to open another lane just as we finally made it to the bag check. Then when I gave the timestamp to the officer after I received my bags, I told them how it took long, and he smirked saying, "Wow, 8 minutes, big deal!" Even though it clearly showed 15 minutes on my time stamp. Just be professional and say, "sorry, we will keep that in mind." O well, that's TSA in Seattle for you. read more

Since when is cookie butter considered a liquid? Mine got thrown out by TSA. After a very long wait, being scanned like a monkey in a zoo, my cookie butter got thrown out. This is my home, but I am always glad to leave due to the long wait times and the rudeness of the staff. One man was happy, only one employee. After I waited over 45 minutes in line I saw only one staff member smile. Sending our tourists off on the right foot, aren't ya? Kill them with that Seattle Freeze! Even locals are so thrilled with your customer service Very disappointed that TSA Seatac doesn't give us the option to mail the random things they choose to throw out!! Living in Atlanta home of the busiest airport in the USA. Seattle needs to take note. What a mess the TSA agents are at this airport. I was there this morning, multiple agents instructed me instructions just for another agent to come and scream asking why I was doing what I was doing. There is no communication, no clear authority. It's also very overwhelming and unnecessary for there to be 6 agents surrounding a person who may need a bag checked further or pat down. Very frustrating, bad impression for airport. On 14 August at approximately 0500 while flying to Sitka Alaska 2 lines were open. Not counting the TSA personnel manning the line there were 17 other TSA personnel standing around talking and laughing giving the appearance their only job was to show up and draw a paycheck. One day when my family and I were getting our ID checked at the podium, he asked my dad something and then he pointed to somewhere confusingly. So my dad went through the right lane and the TSA worker asked, "where ya goin?". So he went through the wrong lane and my family and I went through the left lane which we're supposed to go through. He gave us this rude look when we passed by. They then complained to the manager and stuff and she understood. So she said she was going to talk with the guy. I hope she did. read more
